Back in August 2014 my ex bf wanted to spank my son. I told him so fast .. hell to the no. No one disciplines him but me. He chased my son trying to hit him. My ex was 6ft 6 and over 300lbs. He thought he had my son and he had me. My ex bf damaged my back. My son was 16 back then. I always told him if my son does something wrong and I am not home send him to his room or outside to his friends house down the street and I would deal with my son when I would get home. I spent 4 months in physical therapy.I kicked the ex out so fast and sent him packing to the homeless shelter. My high school sweet heart got word of what happened and made sure the ex left us alone. My high school sweetheart and I just recently got engaged.

This is why my husband and I have been married for 23 years! There were times we thought of divorcing in the early years but neither one of us could live without our babies in our home, so by the grace of God we worked through hard times and stayed committed to our marriage and God has blessed us with a great family and life. So work on your marriages if it’s at all possible please! No one will love them like the real mom and dad!

Why would you let some dude you’ve known 8 months discipline your kid? That’s YOUR kid, discipline should be from the mother in that case. This man is clearly not capable of caring for children and shouldn’t be around any children. “I’m pretty sure I’m not going to fail” what you mean “pretty sure” you either know if you did it or not. The mother is really to blame for the situation.

My step-dad lived with us for YEARS from age 5 to age 18 when they split up, although he's still my Dad in my eyes & we have an excellent relationship to this day. That said, I didn't start calling him Daddy instead of by his name until I was 12. Also, in _all_ the years he lived there & helped raise me he _never even once_ raised a hand to me - my mother would have *murdered* him. He was allowed to ground me, take away privileges, but it was made _abundantly_ clear that if he ever hit me, done-zo, finito, the end.
@Blissfullybadansbouji2 жыл бұрын
Same exact experience here, as far as I’m concerned that is my father but the disciplining was ALWAYS my mothers job even when they had two biological children of their own my mother still remained the disciplinary hand and my dad never arrested or even had to try because my mother was SURE to always have us in line and I live both of them beyond words and still live at home with them today at 21 while I’m in college

PSA: hitting your kids is literally like the least effective form of discipline. Do not hit your kids, do not even spank them lightly. Kids who are hit tend to hit others as they grow up, which gets them into trouble and reinforces that "violence is an okay way to express dissatisfaction/anger/sadness" . Praising your kids for good behavior encourages positive behavior because SURPRISE!! Kids like being praised!! They don't understand pain. DO NOT HIT YOUR KIDS. Don't let anyone hit your kids!! It's 2020, we're better than this, people 🙄🙄🙄

I agree never hit your kid to the point they are bleed, but I would say that I understand pain. When I got a whooping I knew never to do that again because first my mom gave me warnings not to do thing but I kept doing anyway so that when she got the belt.
@beccacameron73864 жыл бұрын
galaxy see, it affects everyone differently. when i was hit as a kid it didn’t teach me not to do it, it taught me to lie, hide things, and it taught me that violence is the only thing to resort to when you’re upset. it made me resent family members and at one point just made it worse. i can’t say that’s how it is for everyone, but i know a lot of people who turned out to be violent people when they grew up

When I was a kid, if I got a spanking I deemed unfair(after fighting with my younger ones) I would wait up till my dad got home and report my mom or if it was my dad, report my dad. For a four year old not to be able to tell his mom that so called daddy hit him, the mom has failed her mothering duties. Children that age see their parents as superman and tell everything
