What a great movie. We have a 11 year old who came to us as a foster child, her mother too was drug addict and homeless. Our princess came three years after we took her older sister and brother. This reminded me of how my husband cried with this, then, one year old as she was going through drug withdrawals. He held her rigid little body for hours as they both cried. Today, my husband is the only dad she knows and their bond is beyond believe. Her mother, now drug free for 10 years and her two siblings are still living with us. Her two older siblings just graduated grade 12 and thus begins a new journey as young adults with us supporting them all the way. ❤

Great movie. Well worth watching. Watched it from north of Scotland. The scene when the car was pushed off the cliff by Graham and the girl’s mother shouting, and John rescuing the girl reminded me of the story of Joseph in the Old Testament. He said to his brothers that they“intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” God used John to save Katie/Natalie, but in fact, holding this helpless baby saved John’s life too. And the mother later on found God’s forgiveness and mercy. God’s ways are always higher than ours even if we don’t understand it at the time, we just need to trust Him and obey.

In regard to your comment about The devil. He is most certainly real But invisible. The truth. Is God is love, And the opposite of that is hate. People do not want to face the reality Of sin, Which Jesus Talk about. Heaven is real and so is Hell. The bible teaches you must be born again spiritually. Which simply means to receive Jesus christas. Your savior and Lord which is taught in the Bible. As your salvation. Because jesus christ is the only way, He alone is eternal life. And nobody is sinless, Except God. I asked that you take this message message seriously.. God has given you the will to choose, Eternal life or eternal death. May god help you choose Eternal life

@joannbarnett41059 күн бұрын
I'm still watching it. Just passed the part after he was questioning the missing girl'y mother about the vet whose arm was found in the car. I research missing and trafficked people. God is calling me to get involved. The title captured my attention first. My first name is Joann which means 'God's Grace', but years ago I found a poster of a missing teenager. The name on the flyer said Hope Voyda, she went missing in the late 1980s. The photo on the flyer was me at age 16 or 17. But the description on the flyer doesn't match my photo at all. I have hazel brown eyes and brown hair. But the printed description on the flyer says she has blond hair and blue eyes. I don't remember much about my childhood and what I do remember doesn't really match what I've been told by the people I thought was my family. I used to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses, praise God I am not a JW anymore because the real Jesus who is not a created being saved me. A very strong fear that keeps people in the JW antichrist organization is fear that if you leave the organization will kidnap your children. They have good reason to be afraid because there has been proof that this has happened. A news story, for example, that is over is over 10 years old now. About a JW woman who divorced her JW husband, she left the organization, but he stayed in it. Her daughter went missing shortly after she won custody of their child. Their daughter had been around 10 when she went missing, she was in her late teens when they found her. The police had questioned the elder of their Kingdom Hall (church) but he'd denied knowing anything about her disappearance. But after the girl was found it was revealed that not only did the JW elder know what happened to the missing girl, he was involved in the abduction. I forget the name, but there is a popular movie you can watch that is based on a true story about a young woman who was disfellowshipped after she left the Jehovah's Witness cult. She was disfellowshipped by everyone she knew, including family. For me the scariest part of that movie was the last scene when she caught her mother taking her baby out of the car seat and tried to get into her own car so she can take off with it. I was triggered, watching that scene I started crying uncontrollably and repeated over and over, " no no no no no". When cult children are abducted or are given to other cult members to be raised as their own (private, secret adoptions) arranged by the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses with the help of the elders of the congregation their biological parents belong to. In Jesus name I want undeniable, physical, legal proof of what happened to me, and I keep praying that God will help me remember. But I think God is calling me to do something more important. To love others as I love myself. The only form of trafficking that no one talks about is Spiritual Trafficking, which is Cult Trafficking, what hear happens to victims of labor and x trafficking also happens in these cults, except when it happens to someone in a religious cult no one believes you. They usually assume the person is making it up for attention, is paranoid or crazy. I believe Jesus wants me to rescue people in the religious cults, the same way Jesus rescued me. But I don't know how to do it, so I need your prayers. Please pray that Jesus will bring people into my life who have Jesus as their only Lord and Savior who will help me do what our heavenly Father wants me to do.

Thank you for posting this movie... Such a broken world...rather than living with "our truth", lies forge, shame develops, lives are further broken...and why people need to OWN UP TO THEIR WRONGS...there is forgiveness...but people choose to live in the dark instead. How will people heal?, they will only heal when people OWN THEIR RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY for THEIR ACTIONS, and stop BLAMING OTHERS FOR THEIR GUILT and SHAME! JESUS is the ANSWER...either way, blaming or taking initiative for RESPONSIBILITY, ALL WILL BE EXPOSED EVENTUALLY...I thank GOD for doing this...although this CASE is just a "movie"...this is ALSO a REALITY. People try to HIDE their WRONGS...BUT KNOW THIS...EVENTUALLY, THEY AND ALL WRONGS WILL BE BROUGHT TO THE LIGHT, BROUGHT OUT IN PUBLIC FOR ALL TO SEE. I am GRATEFUL to GOD FOR HIS JUSTICE...HIS TRUTH... What is done before HIM, WILL BE MADE MANIFEST! GOOD OR BAD! No one is perfect, but we all have a CHOICE to do what is RIGHT...or continue to do WRONG! I hope people CHOOSE to do what is RIGHT...and come to the PLACE OF FORGIVENESS NOW, in this lifetime, before its too late, we don't hold tomorrow, REDEEM THE TIME NOW! AMEN!

I’m not sure how you can say the grandfather is so great. Look how he beat up that guy. He was completely tactless in how he handled those situations some of the time. Taking the child’s mother and grandmother to the hospital to meet her after she’s been through that Examination, that was traumatic for the child. Nobody apologised for that. Then he went to the church while the service was on to take his daughter out of there, he could’ve waited. It was just nasty. if he behaved to his daughter like that when she was young, that explains why she was a drug addict. It’s a familiar story, a father who is over critical, expecting perfection, especially if they’re in the police. We all have to face up to ourselves, look at our own behaviour, and stop blaming other people for our own shortcomings . So this movie was made 10 years back, I hope there is more genuine love and compassion in the world now.

let's not blame the man who saved that little child, because her mother happens to be the daughter of a police officer. after all if it was not for him, that child would have been dead..............

A great movie with a great sad ending when her saver of her life by a stranger has to give her up to her grand parents after taking care of her for several years. Indeed, he should have reported his saving of her life and surrender her, but knowing she wanted her own child dead put him in a spot to return to her mom. He was right in his position to care and love her like his own child which he did very well.

Whoa.... that was really really hard and so tragic! Well written and well acted, but at least they allowed for a connection between the 2 so the ending wasn't totally horrible.... he will always be her Daddy. 😢

A very god movie, I cried so much in the end, why didn't they arrange shared cusrody with the dad and the grandparents? The dad deserved to be a regular part of her life and she deserved it too. And I'm seeing it in Finland🇫🇮

At the very end they made arrangements for her dad to visit her regularly! They just wanted her to get settled first with her grandparents

You're welcome. I love this film myself - despite all the tragedy. But it's the people and the fact that people learn from their mistakes on a level that is never touched upon in other films. It is a film that goes very deep without being over the top. It is a very special story. A story that has a lasting impact.

I know this is just a movie…but, even SOME fiction is based off of possibilities & bits & pieces of other ppl’s real life events. Of course it can’t rain candy & smiley faces. But, fictional movies like this…it’s possible. More than possible…it’s happened before. Minus someone being able to save the child. Now, Imagine a child that’s at an age where they know something is happening but, they don’t know exactly how to understand it. They’re able to feel emotions…like being terrified. & “it must be bad” if it’s making them terrified…& what did they do wrong b/c “I must’ve been bad to deserve this.” B/c “I’m super scared & the only person that can tell me it’s ok…& make me feel safe is mommy but, mommy won’t come, so she must be mad b/c I must’ve done something bad.” Now imagine everything that I just said in a cry. B/c they’re too young to vocalize their words, so they cry… a”scared” cry, a “have I been bad,” cry. A “I’m really sorry of if I was bad,” cry…..A “I want my mommy,” cry. A “please come tell me it’s going to be ok,” cry. Now imagine hearing that cry going off the cliff smh. Now imagine being the mother of that crying child that’s going off the cliff…imagine not giving af!! I can’t imagine. Wow😭😭…& that bitxh DID NOT change her life. She no longer used & that’s it! She was still living off of her parents, she was still a BIGGGG liar. The only thing that changed was b she was covering it up w/ her r e l i g i o n!

I posted this film because it is the best film I have seen in 30 years. I posted this film because it is one of the top 2 films in my life, and I just wanted to share it. Luckily, KZbin makes it possible. The reactions show: This film touches like no other. It is a unique story - and with great actors! My number 1 film, the most important film, seen 1993 in a cinema in Hannover: Schindler's List.

@@Snowisa It also makes me happy when I can make other people happy without it being my merit, I am just a thief, a video pirate. I remember when I saw the film for the first time (in German, by the way) and thought: And when would he kill the little girl? Or anyone else? He did not seem very trustworthy to me. I expected a kind of thriller. Oh, and it is a thriller, but so far away from all expectations. And what are your other two favourite films? I also like Hitchcock films like "Rear Window", "To Catch a Thief", "North by Northwest". Very different, of course, just mainstream, and very stylish. This film here is not mainstream. You can call it a jewel among the films that are not mainstream. I call it that. Though the background is anything else but nice. But it has strong messages.

@@mkzzzzzzDo you know I was also thinking when is he going to kill her and then it all fell into place towards the end. What a brilliant little actress she is!
@mkzzzzzz24 күн бұрын
@@Snowisa Absolutely. And now I can recommend three more films with great young actors: Man on Fire (2004) with Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning. Dark Water (2005) with Jennifer Connelly and the young Ariel Gade. And The Sixth Sense of 1999: Haley Joel Osment. Only a few child actors reach this brilliant quality. And Maggie Elizabeth Jones is one of them.

Good movie, but I didn't like the end. Her daddy needs to visit her more often than once. I have almost life-long PTSD, and the grownups just expect the kid to come home and be what they consider "normal" with no clue what the trauma did to you.

It may be that the situation is not quite comparable. SPOILER: Here she says that after years of travelling around she would like to settle down: 0:47:57 And at the moment only her grandparents can offer her that.

A good movie. But sad ending. Wish him and that lady could have gotten married and maybe adopted Katie. She still would be able to see her grandparents and be with the only Daddy she knew and loved her.
@mkzzzzzzАй бұрын
That would be too cheesy, too kitschy. That would be like other films. Too happy end. Spoiler: The grandparents would still not have accepted the adoption of their granddaughter by the man and his new wife, and the grandparents would have been right in that regard, and they would have won in court, and rightly so: it would have been right in any case to give the girl to the grandparents. Loving grandparents with an excellent sense of responsibility. Anything else is pure fantasy and would simply not be right. You can't have a child by just taking it. John and Katie came to Kaya as customers, and later she acted as a friend. She played a very good role in Katie's life. But you can't always expect a love relationship and marriage when adults meet. That's too easy. She has a restaurant with employees, he is a veteran with a completely different life, travelling around in an RV, and now in a red car. You can expect from them respect for each other, but certainly not marriage and the common adoption of a child stolen by him. That is just not realistic. Yes, he clearly loves the girl like a daughter. And that will most certainly last forever. It is comparable to many fathers who continue to take good care of their children even though they can't live with them right now. And that is realistic. That is how life goes. This film is actually different. It is closer to life than other films. It describes human communication as it could actually take place in such situations. And that is what is special about it. It is a very special, very realistic film. I love this film. I love this story. I love these people. They are so human. My English is the English of a German. I am from Germany. The Google Translator helps me.
