So I had to do some research on this. I never even heard of the term "lolicon" until today. So what this guy did was not necessarily participate in the transmission of child porn; it was AI generated or cartoon porn that allegedly depicted a child. However, upon further study - while legal in Japan, which is the place of origin - "lolicon" falls under the same federal legal statutes of the PROTECT Act of 2003. This means its a federal crime in the United States. What makes things more interesting is while it is illegal on a federal level, "lolicon" falls into a legal gray area in many states because there is no real victim. It could be considered digital artwork. Given this, there is a lot of people like this jackass who may be engaging in this activity and not realize its against the law. This is some wild stuff.

Actually it wouldn't fall under the Protect Act, it would fall under Federal Obscenity Law, the Protect Act has a caveat that provides an affirmative defense for drawn cartoon that does not use real life actors. Obscenity Law prohibits it but underneath grey terms and it is on a state by state and case by case basis. So yes true Loli cartoon does fall under a grey area in federal/state law but it also isn't explicitly illegal unless a minor was abused in the process or the imagery is deliberately attempting to imitate a real life individual or victim.

Secondly, at 27:38 the officer states that his offense is not at the level of "CP". Thirdly, at 28:27 the officer states "lolicon is illegal". lolicon refers to drawings that resemble children in a cartoony way, the same way tom from tom and jerry vaguely resembles the concept of a cat but its depiction of a cat is not realistic. Like you, I also feel icky about lolicon but there's a very important line between a child predator and someone who watches lolicon. Currently, horror films depicting body horror are legal. I feel so uncomfortable watching this as a victim myself, 6 and raped by a man, too scared to go to the police, my mind has blanked his face so i can';t describe him and he drugged me also, going in and out of consciousness, i remember his hands the room but not his face, so scared it'll become a flash back, i was friends with his son back then and i feel sick to think he did something to him, im stuck in what to do, im 36 now and 6 when i was raped by him, im male, its so damn tough. Im doing good accepting it but its more about others now than my own self, i just hope he never did it to anyone else cause the guilt i'd feel, these people don't know the damage they cause.

It’s a horrible thing to do to a child. Lifelong effects. If it’s something you want to tackle, I have heard that EMDR can work for that sort of PTSD. Take care of yourself, and skip videos like this.

My first ex-wife was raped by her brother. From time to time she would wake me up in the middle of the night clawing at the bed. Probably still has nightmares from it.

The parents do everything "old school" except having an adult son who can live on his own and face the consequences of his actions.
