I am pianist. The first time I heard him he blows my mind. Its a joke that a kid 3 o 4 years younger than now could feel jazz tensions like that. @universalman5861
@universalman5861 5 ай бұрын
Not necessarily. He certainly has the ABILITY to be a legend. But although the stuff he is playing is virtuoso level it is nothing ground breaking. As it stands he is playing in the style of Oscar Peterson. Will he break new ground or will he just fall within a bracket? What passes for brilliance at 12 becomes pretty ordinary at 24. Not to mention a higher risk probability of being burnout at covering so much ground at such a young age.

This has all the hallmarks of someone who has listened extensively to all the jazz greats. He didn't magically know the chords from the bass line, he just recognized what any remotely experienced pianist would recognize -- a standard blues progression. I first saw this young man featured on, Steve Hartman, On The Road. His story is AMAZING! His dad had an old keyboard in his basement, one day he heard Jude playing the old keyboard. His dad was so shocked at how good he was, that he went out and purchased a newer keyboard. His story gets better, a neighbor heard him constantly playing, came to their house, and introduced himself. The neighbor, gifted the young man, a piano he had in his home, used his inheritance to fine tune the piano, and promised to keep the piano serviced, as long as he’s alive. Jude’s parents were so grateful. Jude is autistic, and is a little genius in the making.

@@christofthedead Uh, no, he's more right than what you give him credit for, because in neurophysiology, the development it would take to build the muscle memory to play like that is at the very least, a decade's worth of knowledge. I was first introduced to Jude on the Kelly Clarkson show and was amazed by his talent then and he's only getting better. Kelly's music director, Jason Halbert, took him under his wing and mentors him. Jason and Jude have a connection in their mutual autism and it was wonderful to watch them together. This young man is a joy.

He seems like a truly rare talent. Often people that have that kind of natural ability have other mental sacrifices but he is just feeling and loving every minute. Forget about his piano ability, his ability to enjoy the moment is even more impresssive, his personality seems to be the extra component that lifts his playing and his whole persona. I’d worry that being so talented he might feel the need to grow up quickly but I can imagine him as a 50yr old with that same joyous, childlike enjoyment…. basically I’m just trying to say he’s very cool and I’m glad he exists.

@@tedpreston4155 autism is of course a spectrum and to say that someone is autistic is just a choice by doctors to define someone as further to one end of that spectrum to a degree that it causes them issues in their life. I know enough people who are autistic and it’s more of a difference in their thinking than a limitation. I don’t know if Jude is autistic or not and if he is I don’t know to what degree and in what ways so I can only take him as I find him. Autism can also unlock other benefits for some people, as far as I can see in this video any benefits of his personality seem to outweigh the negatives, autism or not… but maybe these videos are edited to show him in a positive light, I could only guess at such things so I will just take it at face value.
