It would have been unlikely those rifles could have shot both rounds. If they were designated to shoot paintballs then the rifles wouldn’t have been able to shoot bullets, because the modifications are not designed to shoot live rounds. Considering it’s a military school exercise I don’t think they’d allow cadets to be given tools that can kill. Especially if the senecio involves cadets shooting at each other. Also there would have been weapons inspections prior to deployment of the military exercises and wouldn’t it be routine for the squad members to inspect their weapons to assure function? Someone would have noticed the difference between a real bullet and a paintball before this happened.

Yeah. The funny thing is, even in death, Shelton and Whitehurst were complete opposites of each other. Shelton, the supposedly tough leader, gets dropped with one bullet and dies alone in the mud, with nobody mourning him (I'd imagine some of the cadets would secretly CELEBRATE his death, in fact). In contrast, Whitehurst, who had been referred to as the worst cadet the school's ever had, ultimately dies a hero's death, demonstrating the courage, selflessness, and honor that are the mark of a true soldier, and we see people weeping over him.

I still feel like this is the darkest of the Child's Play films. Chucky's foul mouthed personality may add some humour, but besides that, the film's just gloomy, serious and intense. Scenes like this are perfect examples. Underrated film imo

That's why it's the second best (the first being the top for me). Child's Play 3 is incredibly underrated. It's dark, intense and has that badass soundtrack. It took things seriously (unlike all the Chucky movies that have come out since) Plus it had a fitting and permanent end for Chucky by having Andy toss him into the giant fan. I missed the first 3 in theaters because I was way too young(I was in daycare when these came out lol) and Seed of Chucky is the only one I saw in the theater. That's funny as hell that the audience cheered at Shelton's death, I'd love to see that! It sucks we never got a more legit Child's Play 4 where it was called "Child's Play 4" continuing the Andy saga, I know 3 didn't do as well but it didn't bomb either. Part 4 could've came out in '92 or '93 and not the Bride shit we got in '98 lol.

austin willcut Yeah man, I missed the first two in theaters but watched them on video when they became available for rent. I believe I was 8 at the time and was about to start third grade in school that fall. But yeah, the audience had that feeling Shelton was gonna get it. The audience ate up the character's demise. Watching Chucky swapping the paint ball bullets for real ones on the big screen was pretty scary, there was just something evil about Chucky's actions in that scene.

i saw childs play 3 in the theater in 91 when i was in grade 1. when i went to see that crappy embarrassing sellout bride of chucky in 98 they wouldnt let me in because i was too young. ironic, isnt it? i had to sneak in and the movie was such a letdown. childs play 3 was epic in the theater, probably my all time favourite movie experience.

You know I feel sorry for Andy for 5 reasons. Firstly he has spent most of his youth away from his mother due to her being held in a mental institution. Secondly he is accused of being a 'delquient' and is sent to a military school as punishment. Thirdly it is implied he had no friends up until now as he became friends with Whitehurst who was his only friend until he got killed. Fourthly he had the chance to have a girlfriend when he fell in love with Da Silva but it never happened as he got arrested and finally he again is arrested for the crimes Chucky committed. Chucky may be awesome but he is also great at spoiling Andy's chances of a better life and happiness. However I also think Shelton was one of the very few victims who deserved what he got because he was simply a bully who picked on Andy for no reason and abused his position by also picking on others like Da Silva and Whitehurst and was even sexist when he said that women should not get special treatment. So in a nutshell Shelton deserved to be killed.

I don't see why that would be a problem. This is a movie taking place in a military academy. Of course there would be war games. If an upcoming movie had the same setting, nothing would stop them from featuring guns
