I was still in elementary when this came out. I was obsessed w/this so much, I memorized all the lines. then I had a nightmare of my barbie dolls coming to life even though I buried their separate parts in different locations. they came after me. when I woke up I crawled up in my parents bed. it was no more chucky for me. when my brother had a kid some yrs later, his daughter wanted me to buy her a chucky doll at spencers. I asked her parents if I could, they said no. my parents just laughed. & some yrs later, when I had my kid we watched some chuckies together. my kid likes "horror" movies...lol

I just watched the original Child's Play movie again last night for the first time in a long time.The thing that struck me about the plot of the movie is that they investigated this little boy and his mother after the death of Aunt Maggie. And this little boy, with no ties to Charles Lee Ray then gets up, gets on the subway, and goes directly to the hide out of Charles Lee Ray's partner and kills him and no one questioned how he would know to do this?

They say that Andy´s Mum was divorced...I had always assumed that she was a Widow, after Andy said that Chucky had tell him that dad had sent him from heaven...assuming that his dad was dead.

I love this movie, but I truly think that it would have been so much scarier without the opening scene. That way we could wonder if Andy killed Maggie and Eddie and it would be a creepier psychological thriller.

I personally liked the original idea. about the doll being a blood buddy. I thought the whole voodoo curse thing was cliche and the little boys rage fulling the doll to murder people seems more frightening to me and would make a better plot more of a psychological horror. I hope if they ever make a reboot that's the route they go.
