i agree with most everything you said except Mark Hamill's voice for the doll. Im an 80s baby and they definitely gave us creepily voiced toys. Teddy Ruxpin sounded just like 2019 Chucky and it was terrifying lol

Original child's play movie was scary for me when I was a child. But when I rewatched it a couple years later I found that movie hilarious and fun while still working as a horror movie. The remake is the only child's play movie which I dislike because it "modernizes" a classic movie while removing what made that movie great in the first place (Brad Dourif alongside a geniuenly good screenplay and effects). Mark Hamill did a mediocre performance because the screenplay didn't allow chucky to be a fun, likeable character since they were going for a robot character which can easily be generic (apart from a couple of examples). The movie "modernizes" child's play by making the story make no sense. A product based killer AI doesn't work. The movie is way too generic since its filled with so many cliches like the animal dying first and bland characters written to be dislikable. Trying to be more "modern" by removing paranormal elements while still keeping some sort of humour doesn't work for me. Ultimately it made me want to watch most of the movies this movie referenced instead (texas chainsaw massacre 2 and killer klowns from outerspace). Would watch any other chucky movie over this since it doesn't feel like a chucky movie without Don Mancini and Brad Dourif. I am glad this movie seems to be mostly forgotten and Don Mancini still continued the franchise. Also is the outro proving that phantasm is the topic of the next video? Since the simpsons treehouse of horror video joked about this movie?

Ive been binging your vids this week! Love your content and sense of humor. The first two! Child's Play movies were so scary when I was a kid, but I haven't been able to take the series seriously after re-watching Seed of Chucky as an adult haha now they're just fun movies to watch while stoned. I’m a huge child’s play fan my favorites are the classic first 3, the bride of chucky and the chucky show has shown promise surprisingly. When I saw seed that’s when I got really depressed over the show. I can appreciate a robot version instead of more ‘ doll ‘ like to be different but it’s not gonna ever be in my top 3 for child’s play or anything. I also didn’t appreciate the cat kill tbh. But your u2 comment sent me cause boy did I hate that.😂
