I see your hips don't reach your ankles either. I have the same issue and everyone makes me feel like that's ... Wrong or incorrect. One yoga teacher went as far as pushing my back down to try and get my hips to touch my ankle and it was immediately painful and I told them to stop. I'm guessing the hips not touching the heel isn't a deal breaker?

By making space as you say, one can deduce that we may increase one's height, albeit momentarily
