I was actually on a flight like this from Paris to Atlanta, Ga. The child was in the seat in front of us, and she roped her little brother into it too. At one point the yunger brother stopped, but the girls continued, having screamed and cried for literally 3 hours straight. The flight attendent came by more than once trying be polite, but also get the point across to stop screaming. Her father eventually took her to the bathroom, tired and exasperated, and asked her what she wanted. She screamd, "I DON'T KNOW!" The whole plane could hear her tantrum for the flight so far. Around 4 hours into the flight she stopped and I instantly fell asleep.

Gibb3x x3 yes. I’ve travelled a lot, as my husband is an Aussie and I’m English, so every year I go to visit family from Australia to England. Babies cry, and it’s fine. This isn’t a baby. Surely the parent knew he’d be a nightmare? Some mild sedative would have settled him down for a while and given EVERYONE a break from him. He’s obviously hyperactive, ADHD, or just not disciplined. I’ve had my children fly long haul when they were young, and never would I have allowed this. It’s unfair to others.

Kids who do this, do it because the parent regularly throws fits and tantrums at home, so they learn to process their emotions that same way. They're also more prone to do it in public, because they know it embarrasses the parent, who won't respond in kind, making it the one place where the kid always wins. I know, because I used to be that kid.

IKR!!!!He didn't run out of steam!!! OMG!!!!!! They could have given him some chamille tea to relax him....I don't like kids getting benadryl to make them sleepy. Since he screamed like that for 8 hrs straight I don't think either item would have sedated him.....He has a lot more wrong with him then behavioral problems.
No one can be prepared for that. That parent KNEW the child had behavioral problems. Call the air Marshal. Call somebody.

Its not that easy. My sister moved internationally and she has a autistic son. He is extremely unpredictable. If you have no other choice but to fly, then it just has to be done. What should she have done? Give him up for adoption because she didnt want to ruin people's flight? I know it sucks, but it's a part a life.
@Orholam53 жыл бұрын
@@healyrose4957 no, you medicate the child for the duration of the flight. Nothing wrong w some melatonin and Benadryl
@annettefujii73313 жыл бұрын
And she has round trip tickets! Airlines should have a sealed compartment for these kinds of parents....kids. Not pleasant for everyone on the flight. It could have escalated if there was a ....on board. Mother...wake up. He’s got issues because of you!

If the child is so "unpredictable" go to the doctor and get him something to make him SLEEP. Benadryl works wonders

The person who invented noise cancelling headphones is truly a hero of mine.
@Erin-Zhang2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, based on my experience with Bose and Sony ANC earphones, high pitched noise like children's scream couldn't be filtered. I would assume the purpose of not canceling children's scream is to prevent those patents from ignoring their children and finally when something happened to those poor kids, the parents then use the earphones as an excuse or even blame everything to the earphone company.

@@Erin-Zhang Nah, because the NC is only good for generally ambient frequency and low-frequency continuous/repetitive noises such as fans, car engine sound, and sound that is typically at a lower frequency range. NC cannot filter human speech and not scream (which is on the high-frequency side).
