I was actually on a flight like this from Paris to Atlanta, Ga. The child was in the seat in front of us, and she roped her little brother into it too. At one point the yunger brother stopped, but the girls continued, having screamed and cried for literally 3 hours straight. The flight attendent came by more than once trying be polite, but also get the point across to stop screaming. Her father eventually took her to the bathroom, tired and exasperated, and asked her what she wanted. She screamd, "I DON'T KNOW!" The whole plane could hear her tantrum for the flight so far. Around 4 hours into the flight she stopped and I instantly fell asleep.

I'm the mother of two autistic children, and traveling is a nightmare unless you're prepared. I always had snacks, switches, a laptop with downloaded movies (Netflix), coloring books, noise cancelling headphones, blankets, and downloaded music. I also, had to teach my children how to act in public and on transportation (bus, train, airplanes). It wasn't always easy, but I did my best.

Gibb3x x3 yes. I’ve travelled a lot, as my husband is an Aussie and I’m English, so every year I go to visit family from Australia to England. Babies cry, and it’s fine. This isn’t a baby. Surely the parent knew he’d be a nightmare? Some mild sedative would have settled him down for a while and given EVERYONE a break from him. He’s obviously hyperactive, ADHD, or just not disciplined. I’ve had my children fly long haul when they were young, and never would I have allowed this. It’s unfair to others.

Viking Dogmanship Eh, 3 year olds should know how to properly behave at home and in public, but they’re still technically babies in my eyes. If the mother was unable or unwilling to control her child after 10-15 minutes, land at another airport or return to the take off airport and deboard them. No I get this. My sister has a 7 year old and 4 year old and the 4 year old can be so noisy. It's hard af being a mom. No matter what u do it's hard to make a screaming kid calm again. Sometimes you dont even know the root of the problem. Most of the time, trying to help solve the problem only makes the kid cry more. And imagine the mother. Tired of her kid, traveling, and hearing them all the time. The passengers only needed to hear 8 hours of that. I do not blame the mother.

Kids who do this, do it because the parent regularly throws fits and tantrums at home, so they learn to process their emotions that same way. They're also more prone to do it in public, because they know it embarrasses the parent, who won't respond in kind, making it the one place where the kid always wins. I know, because I used to be that kid.

bat I want to believe that she tried everything she could. There’s only so much you can do on an airplane with a child who is restless. Unfortunately, based on my experience with Bose and Sony ANC earphones, high pitched noise like children's scream couldn't be filtered. I would assume the purpose of not canceling children's scream is to prevent those patents from ignoring their children and finally when something happened to those poor kids, the parents then use the earphones as an excuse or even blame everything to the earphone company.
