Another factor to consider is that many people don’t want to see their children killed and rendered traumatized and disabled in wars. Google admits to up to 1000000 deaths in Ukraine. Taiwan unfortunately finds itself in a globally important strategic position which makes it very vulnerable. I personally know a few wealthy Taiwanese who will take their children and leave Taiwan for this reason. The children are not studying in Taiwan. They are already establishing themselves in other countries. Taiwan is clearly trying to equip itself for a war. This is common knowledge. So maybe it’s not just a childcare problem?
