We take this at a given, but there had to be a point where we learned it the first time. I can remember both things, and how shocked i was. Like, wars? I thought they were things from the past or out of movie, and didn't exist anymore. To realize that there is always a war on earth, - or mostly multiple ones - was quite something. When The Wizard of Oz first came out, there was a remake to make the picture seem better. But the reason why they really made an HD remake is because in the scene when Dorothy and the Scarecrow got the Tin Man to come along, someone who played a munchkin hung himself in the background where his death was visible to the camera. The Cowardly Lion's costume is an actual lion that was hunted and killed. After production of the movie, the lion suit was set up for auction. Dorothy's dress was always too tight. Due to low budget, they never made her a new dress to fit her size. She passed out many times behind the scenes. Finally, the man who played as the Tin Man was originally supposed to be the Scarecrow. But the original Scarecrow wanted a dancing part so they traded parts. Unfortunately, the Tin man got a terrible eye infection that sent him to the Emergency Room because of the metallic face paint. They had to find a new actor to play as the Tin Man. They found a man and finished the movie. But a month after Oz was released, the new actor got an even worse infection sending him to the hospital. You're welcome!~
