I agree with Samantha and Miranda as an adult person who finds it unpleasant when small, rambunctious children are brought into spaces where they do not belong. But also. As someone who once was a child whose parents insisted on dragging them everywhere, including into five star restaurants and spas and solemn monuments and all sorts of nice places I should not have been when I was far too young to appreciate them. . .the kids don’t want to be there either. They’d much rather be home with their toys, or in a park with other kids, or something. The parents aren’t doing anyone any favors by bringing them into a fine dining establishment.
@lepetitchat1232 жыл бұрын
Same for parents who take their toddlers to travel outside the country. They are simply too young to appreciate it, and are very unlikely to behave on long-haul trains and planes. No international travel is recommended for kids unless they learn to be civil and considerate passengers. I would say age 15.
@yanan42492 жыл бұрын
True. My mother worked a lot so she used to take me to the restaurants and parties where there were hardly any children but me. She imagined that would compensate for her not being at home with me and we would see each other more and it would be like our quality time together. But it so was not! I was sooo bored. She had quality time with her friends and I was lonely just the same, though sitting next to her. Being with parents at the party or a restaurant is not equal to reading a book together, baking cookies or talking with a child about his or her day at home.

I remember several moments as a kid where my parents brought us to a nice restaurant and the waiter’s were so nice to bring us free desserts and complimenting our parents for our good behaviour. Only now do I realise my brother and I must have been the rare, well behaved kids compared to the nightmare kids they must normally have to serve
@Bunny-ch2ul Жыл бұрын
That was my brother and I too. The problem is most parents have different sets of rules for different places. If you let your kid run completely amok at a "child friendly" restaurant, yeah, they're not going to know hot to behave in a better restaurant. Vastly different sets of rules for different places is *HUGELY* confusing to younger children. Take them to Burger King, if they can behave as if it were a fine dining restaurant, by all means, take them out to The Plaza. Don't bring them to The Plaza and expect them to behave completely differently than they would anywhere else though. That's never going to work. Once they can be consistently well mannered, *then* you can tell them, "It's okay to be a bit more relaxed here." It's pretty much impossible to improve once you've set the expectation that it's okay to run amok anywhere though.

I don't hate children. But it also seriously annoys me when parents insist on taking their kids everywhere. I have a baby brother who I love but was a pain in the ass as a toddler and it used to annoy me how my parents ALWAYS wanted to take him along whenever we went out, even if he didn't need to come. There was always someone at home to look after him and he just took up so much time and the errands rarely got done or took a lot longer to do with him there but they still forever insisted on taking him. @@NovaLena22 that was more of a joke; i lived in the US and love the country ^^ If i go to a party i just follow the rules those people are setting for their home. I think it is weird that people would just go back home and are huffy if the owner of an apartment or house has some special rule that makes sense (of course stepping in with shoes from the outside will take sand, dirt etc. in the room). If i go to someones party and they tell me to let my shoes on, i do as they say and don't turn round and go back home. That's just over sensitive.

@@annah995 And so here's where we disagree. You think it's being overly sensitive on the part of the guest (probably because you agree with the no- shoes policy). Whereas I think it's extremely rude to invite guests to your home without informing them of your house rule until they are at your door. Not everyone is comfortable (or prepared) to attend a party barefoot.

@@NovaLena22 I don't think it is a big deal. There are lot of different cultures in New York, some of them never wear their shoes at home. I visited people with Japanese or Chinese backgroud and they all take off their shoes and don't notify anyone before. If you don't know it any different, you wouldn't think about informing the guest about it beforehand, because it just seems normal to you. if you have mostly friends with kids and they all take of their shoes due to their children when visiting each other, you don't think about telling other people this. That is not rude, it's just human behavior. If someone came to my apartment and left again because of that, i would simply think, I don't need those drama queen in my life.

This is a very American problem, in Europe everybody is taking of their shoes when they go inside.

I agree, children are people and they go everywhere but they are expected to behave. They are used to going to restaurants but they don’t get you are not welcome vibes. Walking into someone’s home with your outdoor shoes is very bad manners in many countries. Also the host knew everyone at the party, it would not have been difficult to find out who took the shoes.

In real life Charlotte would never be friends with Samantha and Carrie with Miranda. And big would found Charlotte a more perfect wife than Natasha.

I always wonder how she met Carrie and the rest. If they ever said it, I missed it. And they it wasn't in The Carrie Diaries. I get that they were trynna make them all be different ppl, individuals, and it works well but it really doesn't make much sense lol, esp since Carrie seems to be the glue that holds them all together lol But I also think Charlotte hangs around w them bcos she can feel superiority to them lol but in an innocent way? I really do think she'd go home to Harry and be like "LOL THANK GOD MY LIFE ISN'T LIKE THAT💀💀💀 I LOVE THEM SM BUT BLESS THEIR MESSY LITTLE HEARTS " I still love them all though 💀💀

She's not annoying. That woman owed her for those shoes. Even the lawyer, Miranda, said so.

When someone steals your $500 possession and you complain or have some emotions about it...I hope someone calls you annoying and tells you to shut up.
