Alhumdullillah. I am beside myself with this time in the Ummah. I am a former atheist who laughed at the Muslim 20 years ago as a member of the Communist party. Not until I heard a lecture by another former Communist, Bilal Phillips, did I consider Islam as a way of life. After becoming Muslim, I am told that the Brother is "Astray" by other brothers with a teaspoon of knowledge lol. Now, with the emergence of these brothers as well as Brother Munir and Sheik Tahir and others, we can start to get ourselves together Insha'Allah. It was said the child of zina does not inherit from the father or take his name . Wasnt aware of any other ruling on the issue

I dont think thats correct because the childs bloodline is not of the husband but the man who is the father in these times we have dna testing so its ability to establish the paternity

Asalam aleikum dear sheikh 1:23:55 u verify the Prophets hadith stating IF there is a dispute between a married man and a fornicating man the RULE sides with the married man. If there child is purely of fornication and no marriage is present the RULE stipulates the child to the mother period, irreguardless of any scenario. Suratul Nur Ayat 3 Allah says a fornicator will not get married except to a fornicatress or a polytheist, a fornicatress will not get married except to a fornicator or an idolator, and these two practices are forbidden to a mu'min. 1-Now if Allah says such a communion is haram how can any mujtahid, sheikh wed a marriage originating from zinaa.??? 2- If such a marriage is set to happen it will always lack Allah's blessings for Allah does not support the dhalimun. 3- Islam is purity as is Allah himself as so is his Word (Quran). It never fails so in the ends we fail whom among us that do Not take heed of the creator's command (Quran 7:179). 4- A woman has many walii's appointed to guardian her(Q-4:34 "men are the protectors of women.." note the aspect of plurality) this is open-a woman cannot wed her self nor even wed her female slave, neither can she be a guardian or protector of her ownself (Q-4:119-if she, "forsakes Allah and takes satan for a friend she will suffer a manifest loss) therefore responsibility for the walii is stipulated in (Q- 24:32) -"Marry those among you who are single..." even if they are in poverty, "Allah will give them means out of His grace". So there is no reason except Arrogance, Ignorance and or envy to fail man from wedding their offsprings so as to avoid zinaa. Furthermore the Prophet S.A.W said there is blessings in dowry that is inexpensive... the ideology is to encourage the act of ibadah in marriage even for the financially weak. 5- Finally since a child of zinaa is attributed to the mother, it implies failure in application of; her deen (Q- 17: 32 "Nor come nigh to adultery...") and also her walii (Q-24:32- He should have married her). 1 failure should secure the same mistake from repeating plus also setting an example for others (society) to learn (Q: 24:2- "The woman and man guilty of fornication flog each of them 100 stripes........and let a party of believers witness their punishment."). With all said May Allah forgive me if I have mis interpreted and may He guide us all to His WILL. Amin.

Once you repent and stop fornicating you no longer hold the label Of a fornicator etc This applies to those who continue to fornicate, not repent and then wish to marry, and Allah knows best! Remember surah Zumar, Allah forgives all sins.

@@Zazezoo Indeed the truth be said, repentance has conditions to be met; (1) A person must Acknowledge his/her sin. (2) He/ she must hate that act hence abstaining from it, otherwise repenting and continuing to like sining is purely blasphemy. (3). Sincere repentance after acknowledging the thulma done to your own nafs (or if it involves a person u seek their appology) (4). If someones property is involved in the appology, it must be returned prior e.g u may not grab someones land and seek an apology before realising ur mistake and rectifying by returning back his rightful ownership. It would be just blasphemy. After being knowledgeble, abstention from sinning, seeking sincere repentance, and hating the sin a person will bear the fruits of purity.....and guidance will be with that person, henceforth will the fruits of marriage in this case be attained. And the blessings of Allah be an indication of the results attained. The key point is that, just as sinning out of ignorance, temptation, being forgetful took time and effort ... Repentance also is a gradual process of shifting the mind, the emotional status, the actions and also the ecosystem/ environment (keeping away from wrongdoing people).

I have wanted to know the answer to this for such a long time. yrs b4 my husband and I met he had an affair with a married women and made her pregnant,when the child was born she was still married to her husband as he thought it was his child,after the child was born she told my husband it was his then she got divorced and married my husband.the marriage only lasted a few wks and they divorced,the child had her 1st husband's surname but later my husband changed it to his,it is my understanding correct me if I'm wrong that the child should carry his mother's surname,my husband should repent and cut all ties with the women and child but he supports and sees the child on a consistent basis,my husband and I now have our child so I wanted to know if tht child is related to my child because his the result of adultery and was my husband allowed to give his surname

@@aysha8796 The ideology of marriage is such that a man goes to ask for another mans daughter in hand for marriage. If accepted when the marriage has been tied, it means all responsibilites (for the married woman) move to the husband. So anything b4 that is zinaa. And the produce of zinaa belongs to the walii of the woman hence attributed as a child of the bed. The mother's child. The reason the child has no ties in religion to the biological father is because the initial act of zina is by itself haram in Islam. And Allah knows best.

If the person repents and is not upon this way Allah swt says he forgive all sins but shirk . And Allah swt knows best . I believe this is only for the unrepentant who continues in zina , if one is Muslim and he represents them he is not upon this way anymore , in Islam repentance expiate sins
