My mum is 57 and she loves middle grade books, there’s definitely no age limit for middle grade 😁

I was in university when I read "Charlotte's Web". I felt embarrassed about reading a children's book so I would only read it at home. Thank you for your video. I now feel normal.

Aw that's such a shame, I think we should all just read what we fancy despite age restrictions!

There’s an article about Philip Pullman in the Guardian today, where he talks about the label ‘children’s books’. It’s not a label he gave the books. Another series you might not be familiar with is the Nevermoor series byJessica Townsend. Third book just came out about two weeks ago. I love them

Based on the fact you picked Alice in Wonderland as an evergreen classic, maybe you should've considered mentioning The Little Prince from Saint-Exupéry. Although this novel comes in the form of a tale, it was definitely aimed for the child living in all of us adults, so this could be a perfect choice for any adults thinking about reading some children's stories ;-)

Ahh haven't read that one yet!

My go-to recommendation for this sort of list is The Bartimaeus Sequence (or rather, the original trilogy) by Jonathan Stroud. As a kid, they're fun, clever fantasies, with a really witty narrator. As an adult they're so much more. They're about slavery, they're about classism, they're about a crooked justice system, they're about the corruption of power, they're about watching someone you love turn into a monster. They're utterly brilliannt.

Love this video 💕 I was fairly recently told that adults shouldn't read children's books 😠 and when I said I read graphic novels it was as if I'd done something wrong 😮 I can and do read adult books but I just prefer children books 😍 I've read HDM by Philip Pullman both as an adult/child and have loved it equally each time. I felt I got different things from it depending on when I read it 😍it Thanks for making this video

I am in my 40’s and love the Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus/Magnus Chase/Trials of Apollo books. I have loved Greek/Roman/Norse mythology since I was 8 and they would have been my favourites if they had come out when I was young. They are so well-researched, have interesting characters and are also funny.

If you want something to give to the kids, as a means of a learning book, - you can't go wrong with *personalised childrens books* that are themed for them. They are fun educational books that can be custom made (labels, cover design and character names)

I also like to read books before I give them to the children I am buying them for, to make sure they won’t upset them or have something that the parents might disapprove of.

Went to a thrift store and picked up a few kid/middle grade books, some I never read as a kid, the lady on the same aisle was like, "I dont see any kids with you, are you buying them for your kids? I said no I'm buying them for myself, the lady shook her head and said you should be ashamed taking from kids, you need to put them back on the shelf."

Hi Would you or your followers be interested in reading a free Mobi (kindle) or PDF of Island of Adventure? If so, please let me know and I will forward a copy, no strings, just a genuine offer so children of 7+ can have a good read. I love writing but hate social media, therefore no one knows about the 13 books that are out there and are missing out on very good reads. Kind regards John Day

The His Dark Materials series is one of the most wicked things ever written. Doubly so because it was written for children.
