Rome's Story: A New Heart to a Good Life | Children's Health

Thirteen-year-old patient Rome had her whole life ahead of her. She was a great student, a talented musician, dancer and a loving friend. In December, she began having trouble breathing, and within a matter of weeks, she was on the emergency list for a heart transplant. She received her new heart on New Year’s Day, a fitting symbol of the new chance at life she’s been given. And today, she’s well on her way to a full recovery so she can get back to being a kid...a kid with big dreams and a big heart.
