Chilika Jewel Of Odisha HD

Chilka Lake - Asia's largest brackish water lagoon with water spread ranging from 1165 sq km m the rainy season to 906 sq km in the dry season is nestled in the heart of the coastal Odisha (Orissa). It extends from Bhusandpur in Puri district in the North to Rambha-Malud in Ganjan district in the South, separated from the Bay of Bengal by a 60 km long narrow strip of marshy islands and sand-flats.
Some of the prominent islands like Nalabana, Kalijal, Somolo, Honeymoon, Break-fast, Birds and Rajahansa inhabited by small subsistence fishermen families, are popular destinations for daily boat trips. Because of its rich bio-diversity and socio-economic importance, Chilika was designated as a Ramsar site in 1981 to afford better protection.
Chilika is recognized as one of the most important wetlands in the world because it is home to a phenomenal variety of birds. Chilika Lake offers visitors a spectacular display of its colorful avian charms in a thousand different hues presented by over 160 species in the peak season between November and February. The lake and its reed islands teem with nesting birds-white bellied sea eagles, ospreys, golden plovers, sand pipers, flamingos, pelicans, shovellers, gulls, include migratory ones flying great distances from Iran, Central Asia and Siberia.

Oh, my beauty queen CHILIKA. I missed u. It's my birth place. I spent almost 22 yrs. from 1972 to 1994 in her bay. My childhood friend is Chilika. I spend numerous evening, night in the bay of Chilika as well as deep inside. I talk to her in lonely evening in several occasion. Written numerous poem on her that published in school n college magazine. Today I feel I am very lonely without her due to my job in north India & busy in family life. Still I love her. Wait Chilika. I am coming. Coming in Dec.'17. with my family.Thanks Odishaonline TV. You forced me to remember her on my birthday. Wao, today is my birthday and I recalled my old memory. Wah, so nice.

It was sad to see the (already endangered) dolphins getting hit by the boat propellers. Why such boating can't be controlled, is beyond me. Chilika is one of the most beautiful lakes. Everytime the train passes by Chilika, I keep staring at the beautiful lake in awe!

The Chilika lake is a place of Birds Paradise . 1) the government should maintain it properly . 2) there should be a grass land with water and small fish for birds . The small fish should be given to birds.by Chilka authority and for their existence and forest for their living . 3) there should be one kilometers with water having 6,7 inches depth and supply of small fish in to water . 4) so that birds can take their food .there should be no fishing in that areas . 5) the Chilka lake should be purify ever year .No bad water should no flow to chilika . 6) there should be restrictions of birds killing by shooters .and punishment . 7) the meat eater birds and snake , crocodile and dog and Jakel should not create any menace to birds Paradise
