Thanks for the info, I'm finding myself going for this exact build, what are the odds, lucky me :) First build ever and want to get this right. One question pops up : MODDIY's site seems to be built with only one selection of length for cables, how did you manage to order 3 from the kit at different lengths ?
@Athasin23 күн бұрын
@@LEg04lmA You buy cables individually instead of full cable sets. Home page > Custom PSU Cables (to the right of 12VHPWR which is to the right of Home) > Extension Cables (section), then pick whether you want straight or 90 degree cables and just pick the cables you want.

the contrast of the red cables looks so dope mate. Im also building a Formd T1 soon, and your videos have been pretty useful. Ended up going for an aio build with a regular and slim noctua after watching ur slim fan comparison. I might've made a mistake going with an EK aio, but luckily i used Paypal, so getting my money back shouldnt be an issue if they end up not sending it to me.
@chrisrussellcaАй бұрын
Glad you like them! be careful with your CPU pump height, i know some newer EK AIO blocks don't fit in 3 or 3.25 slot mode, depending on your GPU.
@xanira6367Ай бұрын
@chrisrussellca yeah I made sure it would fit with the cover off (Looking to build with the 2.75 slot Sapphire pulse rx 7900 xt). Doesn't really matter to me since I won't see it anyway, but all of that won't matter at all if I don't receive it lmfoa 😖

How quiet is this setup? My fractal ridge can get fairly loud on some games.
@chrisrussellca26 күн бұрын
It's relatively quiet, the important thing is managing expectations. If you want true silence you'll have to compromise performance and/or thermals.

Nice videos recently, really liking your cable management. Did you run those tests against M2 concurrently or were they done separately? Could the ambient room temp have changed? I'm surprised that the temps we're lower on the T1
@chrisrussellcaАй бұрын
You’re correct, this is the same test results from the M2 video. The same build exactly. The thermals was lower in the T1 but that’s only because of the TGrill, if it was stock T1 then the M2 would won.
@Duplex39Ай бұрын
I would really like a T1 version that you can fit the Arctic Liquid Freezer III without any mods (basically a stock version with the the grill on top and maybe 2cm wider case, not sure the exact amount). But maybe a 11 or 12 Liter version of the case.
@chrisrussellcaАй бұрын
Is it the quality that you seek from FormD because the M2 is a option. It’s not in a sandwich dual chamber design like the T1 but it can fit a LF3.
@jcorreiauk22 күн бұрын
I wish the side panels could come in either silver or white to go much better with the white or silver variants, the black panels don't really fit well with my setup. If I were to paint it, what product/paint would you guys suggest please?
@chrisrussellca21 күн бұрын
You’re not the first to want more side panel options, the Titanium is the only option with color matching side panels (other than black). You could always get the 3D printed panels printed, from EIGA and use whatever color you want.
@jcorreiauk21 күн бұрын
@ will take a look at this so I can match something with my silver case. Thanks.
@chrisrussellca21 күн бұрын
@@jcorreiauk it’s not the same quality but it’s a useful option and could lower the noise levels too if you suffer from side panel turbulence.
@goaliedavid30Ай бұрын
Those temps are super surprising! I would have thought the M2 would have better temps. I wonder how big a difference a 280mm aio would make in the M2. Because I was thinking of changing from the T1 to M2 because of better cooling for my video editing machine and potential upgrades that are due for it later this year.. But from this, the T1 might just serve me well enough!
@chrisrussellcaАй бұрын
These temps are only better because the T1 has the TGrill and the warm air can naturally exit from the top versus the inverted configuration I tested in the M2, level 7.
@goaliedavid30Ай бұрын
@@chrisrussellca Without the T-Grill do you think the temps would suffer significantly? Do you have another video of this build before you got the T-Grill with temps?
@goaliedavid30Ай бұрын
@@chrisrussellca I would assume the CPU has better temps with the T-Grill, but the GPU would be pretty similar, but that just my theory!
@chrisrussellcaАй бұрын
@@goaliedavid30 Maybe. Both GPUs in this instance would not be in the best optimal situation, upside down vs sandwiched behind a motherboard.

does flipping the psu actually make the temps better when using a 4080 FE/4080 Super FE/4090 FE card?
@chrisrussellcaАй бұрын
Not really but it doesn’t hurt it in my experience. EIGA did a short segment on this configuration.
@Ashleycb97Ай бұрын
Hey bud, lovely build ? How is the PSU doing with the grill facing the GPU hot side exhaust ? I've heard against this usually but in my mind it makes sense it terms of airflow. PSU would come on under load regardless so why not help the gpu at the same time . How is it coping ?
@chrisrussellcaАй бұрын
Well, it’s a mixed bag. The 4080 FE passthrough allows it to pull air from the other side, however when hamming it’s basically pulling in warm air after the air passes through the GPU heatsinks. However that end of the FE card doesn’t get nearly as warm as the fan near the back IO plate. Also the warm air from the PSU is forced down but that’s the case even with the fan facing outward. So it’s a mixed bag. I haven’t had any issues and you can expect it to be 2-5C warmer than average. To me I prefer the heat rise over seeing the fan.
@Ashleycb97Ай бұрын
@@chrisrussellca Thank you for sharing bud ! I think I will go this way too , much prefer seeing the shell instead of fan and rather not starve the FE card :)

I have a build with a 5800x3D and 4080 super. In gaming the GPU pulls between 280W and 330W stock but tops out at 360W when you increase power limits. My CPU uses max 115W in cinebench and around 90W in game but averages around 55W in game. Im assuming the 9900X will use about 130W max and about 65W in game. So in a worst case scenario this build would pull about 550W (accounting for fans and a 90% efficient power supply) and would prob average closer to 400W in game. Plenty of headroom.
