Aahhhhhhh it was so nice to see you take out the markers again, your strokes are so confident and the result was lovely. Also I really enjoyed listening about your relationship with your sketchbook, thanks for sharing that with us. My own sketchbooks feel like a place where I can draw without feeling pressure to make something polished or perfect, and I feel the freedom to experiment with new ideas or techniques, so I love them even though I not use them as frequently.

When you sketch/paint, do you listen to anything like music or podcasts in the background? Just curious because it interests me how artists prefer to work!

futural it varies! Sometimes nothing so I can capture sounds from the art supplies. When I need to focus and be fully present - I listen to soft piano music. When I’m in the final crunch, it’s a lot of party music 😂

There's an official copic app you can get on your phone to track which copics you have/want, with some swatches. I can't remember when it was last updated. but it's useful. I wish there was a similar one for watercolors/pigments too, thinking about it....

Thank you so so much for this video ;_; Lately, I've been writing a short story that means a lot to me, and because of this I've been putting a looot of pressure on myself - as if everything needs to be perfect... And today was very hard, because I wanted to write but couldn't focus at all, and I was so mad at myself... But your sweet story helped me to remember what writing is to me: a nice opportunity to feel close to my characters, kind as if I was hanging out with them like they're my friends or something. I don't know if you'll see this, but you really, really helped me to remember what matter the most today. ♥ I feel like I can finally write a bit. Thank you!

I dont recommend S&B, at least it didnt work out for me. Dries instantly, doesnt lift at all, and sometimes the pigment just acts weird on it. I really struggle with it. I rather reco a Hahnemühle, or make your own from whatever paper you fancy ;) eventually that's what i did.

Hi Tori! I noticed near the end of the video you used watercolors to outline your marker drawings. Do watercolors react well with alcohol based markers?
@Wuzeio4 жыл бұрын
Hi Tori, do you have any tips on trying to maintain confidence in your art and motivate yourself? Recently i've been stuck in an art rut while everybody around me is improving, and its really bumming me out. D: I feel like i've just been staying in my comfort zone, but everytime I try to improve in anatomy or compositions, I end up feeling burned out and don't want to work on it anymore. But at the same time, drawing the same thing over and over again (same face syndrome.. that sort of thing) is also making me tired of art. I see so much art that inspires me and I want to draw just like that, but I can't seem to find a way to push myself into improving. >< Looking at a blank page has never felt so intimidating

Ahh I loved this! It was really cool watching you work with markers again! I hope you had fun :) Also, the piece at the beginning with the blue/black hair and red flowers is absolutely gorgeous. Sorry if I'm out of the loop and it's a past patron postcard or something, but is this something that might be available as prints/stickers in future? :)
