Great video as always. I think the key thing for making room for new games on display is knowing you’ve got practical long term storage. I’ve got my book cases I use for games I expect to play in the near future, then a space I’ve carved out in my loft to place older titles that I don’t want to lose but don’t expect to play anytime soon.
@orbalology Жыл бұрын
That sounds like a nice system! And gives easy access to the titles you have lined up to play.

When it comes to the legend of heroes shelf it minds me alittle of my own. I have a display cabinet that the width is 80 cm. I have all the games on the top and right below on the first shelf inside the cabinet I have my figures and the pins from pinbox in the back. I have stacked them like you do but mine is wider and not as tall. If I ever get to the third row I probably need to start using their protective boxes and use double sided tape because I dont want them to fall down from that height because the actual shelf is made of glass. But Its fun Reorganizing your shelfs sometimes. I wanted for a long time have a real proper final fantasy collection but I have never started because I dont like Squares own Figures.

Hi Emily. I didn't think you make a video today. I loved your vid of your shelf. I see the Persona 5 again. very hard game I find. Your vid is so soothing & really relaxing when I watch them. I don't think I mention this enough, so I will mention it now. I'm really thankful that you answer me with a little heart or you comment back on the 1st comments I usually make on here on your channel. You're 1 of the few who comments back to me. This is why I really love watching your content. Like I said before, you're really a positive influence on me.
@orbalology Жыл бұрын
I was inspired to make this & glad I was able to edit fairly quickly. I need to get to P5R myself, someday I'll finally get to it haha. But yeah I meant to answer your other question regarding Sword & Fairy though I was a little unsure which moment you mentioned you were stuck in. I find with a lot of JRPGs they can be a bit grindy, so you sometimes have to level up the characters and make sure they're equipped with the best equipment available in order to beat a certain boss and proceed to the next part. So that may be the case with these two titles for you, and I can totally understand not wanting to go through that because sometimes JRPGs don't exactly value your time. But I guess growing up with them myself the grind has become somewhat therapeutic for me 😅
@tonyp9313 Жыл бұрын
@@orbalology Oh ok. You haven't played P5R yet. Yeah it's a very hard game. I like the Sword & the fairy a lot better. I see that I need to power up my characters a lot. Whenever you play P5R please let me know what you thought of it. Thank you Emily for answering me on the question I asked. I really appreciate it. I have awesome news about myself. So you already know I work at Amazon here in Canada. They are raising my salary next month $1 more. I'll be getting $20.30 an hour. Which here it's pretty high. That would be $15.08 in your currency per hour. I don't know if that's pretty high in the states. Then I'll be getting another 25 cent raise in Nov making it $20.55... That hasn't happened yet, so far all I know is the $1 raise. That's it with me & again I wish you well & hope you find work.

Love to see Falcom games getting the love they deserve! Fun fact about Nayuta is that it's actually kind of a mix between an Ys entry and a Zwei game, with the Kiseki branding. The gameplay takes some elements from the Zwei games, such as leveling up by eating foods, which makes me wonder if Falcom wanted to make another Zwei game, but since that series didn't sell so well, they decided to make a Zwei game under the Kiseki brand so it would sell better.
@orbalology Жыл бұрын

Aaaah so jelous Emily!! 😂😂 haha could you make a video sometime about where to buy merchandise, figures and collectors stuff? 😊😊 i’m in Spain but maybe they ship everywhere. Big hug!
@orbalology Жыл бұрын
I don't buy from too many places tbh. I mostly buy games off of 2nd hand sites such as ebay or mercari for older releases. And new releases I tend to stick to videogamesplus (who ship internationally), Best Buy, and Amazon. I've been trying not to purchase from many of those limited distribution companies, but I made a video on the channel early on compiling all those websites into a spreadsheet. Oh and figures & other merch I like to buy from Amazon.jp, AmiAmi, or through a proxy service to buy from the Japanese second hand shops like Mercai or Rakuma. Surugaya which I've talked about somewhat recently is another Japanese site but they ship internationally and don't require a proxy service.

I have plans to display some pins on a cork board of sorts eventually, though I don't think I'll be removing the PinBox Kiseki ones from the boxes anytime soon! I really like how they look inside their boxes and I also have them set up in a way that they're slightly hanging off the ledge of the shelf but right up against the wall so they don't take up too much space :)

Thoroughly enjoyed this video immensely Emily! Whether it's the care, or the attention to detail in how you arrange your shelves - something about those aspects are really enjoyable to watch, along with how you go about it as well (since we all collect and decorate differently) that aspect also is very enjoyable! Your shelves are getting full though and with more scale figures coming, you might need to get more lol. Also the Xanadu figure/statue is unfortunate to hear about, though also understandable, since it's a lot of stuff in general to have to move around, i too dread moving with all my PS4/5 Collector big boxes! :( lol As always, amazing work Emily :)

Thanks, Michael! I find these sort of videos enjoyable as well so it was fun to try my hand at it. And haha yeah all those Trails scale figures are going to do me in. But I'll make it work (as I can't really add anymore shelving into my apartment at this time lol).

Do you have The Legend of Heroes: Characters art book and The Legend of Heroes: Illustrations art book in your collection? Those art books would be perfect for your Falcom shelf. You've probably seen them before. lol They cover the first five Trails games. Estelle is on the cover of one the books, and Lloyd is on the other.
@TequilaBear Жыл бұрын
I don’t know how you feel about the soundtrack and art books that are included in a lot of these games. I would prefer they add something more interesting since they are essentially just samplers. They just take up cabinet space, since I don’t display boxes.
@orbalology Жыл бұрын
It depends really! When they only provide a very small sampler for the OST and then release the full soundtrack separately I get annoyed. Art books tend to have different images than other books that come out subsequently. But I feel you about space & clutter for CEs that hold things that interest you. Thankfully I've been pretty satisfied with most of the CEs I own, though there are a few exceptions where I question whether they were worth it.

Need to rearrange my bookshelve myself soon, now that im up to 70+ switch games lol. How do you deal with dusting your shelves? I imagine itd be to much to take everything down to do it each time.

I have a Google Calendar remind me to dust every 2 weeks. So it's not too bad. I just use makeup brushes & vacuum so I don't have to take anything down while cleaning.

Ugh, I hope they update it so it arrives sooner. These pre-order delays have been getting out of hand for many 3rd party publishers 😩
