Geez this takes me back. I never finished this but I remember the butler offering a chop, and then chopping Hugo (i.e. his head).

Oof, same! I remember that! xD I remember not liking the butler at all! And I was glad to finally finish this one :)

I remember playing this and at least one other Hugo game as a kid. If I remember correctly, the other game has a part where you must make an effigy of a witch doctor, and it took me an extremely long time to figure out the right command to make it work!

Oof, sometimes getting the right command is harder than the actual puzzle xD I'll have to check out the other games in the series :)
