Hi, you live in an awesome part of the world, I been whale watching twice, on both occasions we saw whales, but the real highlight was seeing so many dolphins, I'd never seen anything like it.

Hello Tim! This is really a very nice video to relax. The music goes wonderfully with it. Just right for a rainy day like today. Best regards from Hans Mühlviertel and stay healthy.☺

Hello Hans, I am pleased you enjoyed it. This was the forth time I've travelled this route, the Earthquake has caused a lot of changes, all the earth moving machinery being one of the most obvious, I'm looking forward to the repairs being completed so that mother nature can do her work to return the coastline to its former beauty.

Tim, Part 2 compliments Part 1:excellently. In fact I found the second episode - with the duration, tranquility and musical accompaniment - better suited to my mood and attention span. Thank you for capturing and producing so many valuable ways to escape the COVID lockdown blues. Peter

Been a very long time since I travelled the Pacific coastal express from Picton to Rangiora. Getting off at Rangiora to go home. You know when you crossed the Ashley River you were there. That was way back in the 80s. Living here in Brazil is a far cry from NZ. Thankyou Tim for the memory.

Hi, its one of my favourite rides, especially where the train feels as though it is racing the waves. New Zealand hasn't changed much since the Eighties, except for the Earthquake damage. Brazil is a large and varied country, I'd love to visit one day. The carriages used on today's train are comfortable and modern, but I miss the old train with its observation coach at the back. I'm pleased it bought back memories, hopefully good ones.

First time I passed the Conway was 1978 at the time of the UFO sightings. About April. Very strange time it was. Travelling the coast is always timeless.
@Timsvideochannel14 жыл бұрын
I didn't know there had been UFO sightings, a few days later, I drove the inland route from Kaikoura to Hanmer Springs, the Conway River looks spectacular from that road.

Hi Robert, to us Brits, Oz is the land of never ending sunshine or that's what the TV programs such as "Wanted Down Under" would have us believe. I hope you feel a bit warmer soon and I'm please you enjoyed the video. Cheers. Tim.

Its strange having to wear a mask to travel by train, I'm looking forward to the day when I can just jump on a train and go wherever I like without being asked if my trip is really necessary. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long.

Ha Tim,du you have this video with the original train sound?

The original sound was too bad to use, but I did make this video of the same trip in the opposite direction with full sound - kzbin.info/www/bejne/d37YnJedbbOIZ68

Hey Tim - Any chance of you ever getting this particular route filmed from the cab? Beautiful work, as always!
@Timsvideochannel14 жыл бұрын
Hi, I had arranged to film this from the cab, but some anonymous Health and Safety guy said "No" on the day, which was a real shame as I'd flown half way round the world. The KiwiRail guy who met me at Addington was just as annoyed as I was, he did his best to get permission, but the dead hand of pointless officialdom won on the day. I did film the trip from the cab in 2014, please click on these links to watch it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpepYmyIqZWNr9k kzbin.info/www/bejne/noqmgIqqhr6jiJY kzbin.info/www/bejne/qp28mmucjrhoaLM
