What is CodeNames?
Let me be the first to say that I think this game is better live so chat can also guess and lose their mind. But I still wanted to post it. Youll like it!
Two teams compete by each having a "spymaster" give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. The other players on the team attempt to guess their team's words while avoiding the words of the other team. In a variant with 2-3 players, one spymaster gives clues to the other player or players.
So the Spy Master of each time will say a word and a number. The word given is the connecting word that relates to OTHER words on the board. The Number given is how many OTHER words on the board it relates to.
First team to guess all of the words without hitting a bomb wins. If you guess an opponent words or a free spot your turn ends and the other team goes
You'll pick it up fast!

FYI when you where mentioning the Brooklyn Bridge construction. It wasn't poison. It was decompression sickness(AKA "The Bends") caused by being pressurized in caissons for long periods of time. This actually led to the discovery of early decompression theory allowing SCUBA diving to be invented.

In the round at 15:20 he could have linked magazine, root, box, pipe, and stamp and say "tree-based, 5" or even add whistle and locust and say 7. Then Texas and War could have been "Alamo, 2." If he had done Alamo first, then he could spend the rest of the round trying to get them to say the tree/wooden/paper things. So easy, and yet he goes with something from Gears of War, which not everyone here has played, and he knows that.

Poison for mining was not overthinking. It was very plausible - there are absolutely poison gases in mines. This is why in early 20th century they used canaries in mines to detect gases such as carbon monoxide and other toxic substances in the air.

They would get the obvious cowboys (might accidentally give them hide but thats fine since the end game would still leave them thinkin about cowboy).
