What is CodeNames?
Let me be the first to say that I think this game is better live so chat can also guess and lose their mind. But I still wanted to post it. Youll like it!
Two teams compete by each having a "spymaster" give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. The other players on the team attempt to guess their team's words while avoiding the words of the other team. In a variant with 2-3 players, one spymaster gives clues to the other player or players.
So the Spy Master of each time will say a word and a number. The word given is the connecting word that relates to OTHER words on the board. The Number given is how many OTHER words on the board it relates to.
First team to guess all of the words without hitting a bomb wins. If you guess an opponent words or a free spot your turn ends and the other team goes
You'll pick it up fast!

However, her insistance on clicking random words within Codenames (while avoiding other words that go well with the clue, i.e China) and having them almost always turn out right has almost nothing to do with being "socially adept". Lastly, let's say she does just have amazing luck or actual psychic abilities. Clicking words without any rationale whatsoever defeats the spirit of the game (linking words to clues).

Shang is pronounced differently in Chinese. In English, ang sounds like bang or dang but in Chinese it sounds more like -aung. Don't worry, it's simply a question of different languages pronouncing things differently.

To be fair, I myself am not Chinese so obviously my opinion takes a lower priority, but I've seen many POC or people with cultural names as a whole point out that people only pronounce it differently because they don't want to learn the correct pronunciation, which makes sense to me. I think it's important we start pushing for things to be pronounced how they're supposed to be, instead of letting people be lazy

Like you can't expect a Northern Scot to pronounce a name with an I correctly(they say ee), or a Japanese person to properly pronounce L(it sounds like yr). That's true, but the other way is the anglicized way to pronounce that word, which we do all the time. For instance, we don't call Seville "Se-vee-ya" like they do in Spain, or we don't pronounce the "ق" in "Cairo," we just say it like it's a "C". Adapting foreign words to your own language is totally normal -- everyone does it. Hell, going the other way, Mandarin says "cola" like "kělè" (可乐), adapting our word in a way that's more natural in their language.

(I'm not used to detect subtle changes in vowels so it may be the other way around) But here's the explanation: most of the time the "a" in Chinese sounds like "ah", when the word ends in "-ang" it sounds a little like "-ong" because the "-ng" is a nasal sound, but it's just a slight change and the "base sound" let's say, is still "ah"

Keep in mind, Shang-Chi is a name that an american (Steve Englehart) created to mimic a chinese name, so I think either way is fine. One is the american way, the other is the chinese/asian way. Simu Liu says it in the movie, there's even a scene where Awkwafina's character has trouble pronouncing it.

I've watched Shang-Chi but I didn't think it was as good as some of the other Marvel movies honestly but it was still okay. Nah, there is no "3rd party" that feeds her the answers. I really dislike it when the comments section and twitch chat think like that. She just goes hard on following her gut instinct, unlike Chilled who tends to back out on his instinct a fair bit.
