I must say, as much as I wouldn't call this a great or necessarily even fun game, the constant need to; manage resources, be extremely careful when doing anything, the constant never ending need to hurry up, and the looming sense of paranoia at all times really does sound like the work environment of someone trying to clean up a radioactive disaster.
@clyax1136 жыл бұрын
The only real way you can derive fun out of this is the satisfaction of making progress through each level cluster, and having an over-the-top happy ending where you basically are the best hero ever and get all the money, sexual partners, and anything else you'd ever want. THAT's how you end a hard game.

15:30 This is why Game Dungeon is not just my favourite thing on the internet - it's my favourite _thing_ period. Ross is able to make me angry and upset about stuff I haven't even heard of and will never affect me. I hadn't heard of Quadralien before now, and I knew within seconds of the video starting that I'd never play this game. But now I'm so furious at cheat sites copy-pasting incorrect information that I *have* to see the end of this game. Everything depends on it now. Life has meaning now. [/unpause]

I don’t usually like commenting but I have to say this is my favourite channel on KZbin. Ross stands to be one of the most interesting people I’ve come across ever, he has an incredibly unique outlook on everything almost like he’s stared into the eye of madness and wants to share the tale. This video was uploaded as I was admitted into hospital after being operated on, it’s probably the morphine that’s encouraging me to write this but for someone with a selection of holes cut in him I couldn’t be happier

It never fails to amaze me how some old games seem to have crazy and detailed backstories for somewhat simplistic gameplay. One of my favorite examples is "Vangers". The game is basically a top-down driving/trading/fighting open world with destructible environment and freedom of action, but the story is about post-humans-insects, chains of worlds, parallel dimensions, philosophy and what not. Even the game manual is in character. Wonder if Ross has heard of it.

As a certified welder, I can say that if they crammed a requirement for a welding cert in the game, that space station would be gone before you’d even be able to take the test.
Also, on the subject of the "otherspace"... That's you breaking out of the level's area in memory and going into the rest of the game data. As you can imagine, wandering around there can cause serious issues, especially if you start giving the "level" what for with the laser. :P

Hey Ross, I don't comment much man, but I just thought that I'd thank you for creating content for us that's always top quality and never compromising that despite what you may or may not be dealing with. I've been around these parts since Freeman's Mind's first April fools episode, and lemme tell ya (if you didn't know) but seeing this channel grow and find itself and evolve to what it is has been damn near amazing. From breaking with Machinima, to meeting self-imposed Christmas deadlines, to branching out with other content such as this, and even to content the viewers aren't even aware of yet (THE MOVIE), you've done a shitload for us. So thanks man. I also think I'm a little more self aware now where I'm comfortable saying you were among some of the select few game oriented channels I watched back in high school that cemented my decision to go to university for game development...which may seem a little random but your personality mixed with the content you provide I believe definitely was one of the contributing factors. Hope you're doing well, my guy :)

I've played an old DOS game once called "Evasion" - it was a 3D game about escaping from alien activity. I found it on some CD-R I got from a friend two decades ago along with Blood shareware and a ton of other DOS games. The CD-R was even called something like 128 DOS Games. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure I don't have this CD-R any more. I've tried finding this game online, but there seems to be no trace of it whatsoever. The matters are worsened by the fact that ther's a modern game called "Evasion". If anyone ever stumbles upon it, please let me know. I'm curious what that was, but I was a child back then and I don't remember much of it.

Ross is one of the few people I feel completely justified in giving a like to before I even see the videos.

Exactly what I needed today. I vaguely remembered this looking at it, think it used to be part of the Encyclopedia of Games collection.

Stop me if I'm wrong, but I think that the Quadalien Queen is the kindest final boss in gaming history. Rarely do you get such a sincere apology from the FINAL BOSS. Mini-Bosses, occasionally, certain boss battle aftermaths mid-way through the game? Yes. The last boss/true boss? Rarer than Astatine. You don't even get any direct malice or scorn from her either. Just a self-aware acknowledgement of a lacklustre congratulations in text form.
