NIce to see someone blow snow at a decent speed. A lot of videos show people going real slow but a snow blower works better at near capacity. Nice rig but I recommend ear protection for that one if it's as loud as the video made it appear.

Wow 38 year old JD garden tractor . Does snowblower work from hydraulic?. To me look like is does it throw snow really far . That so cool your dad buy it brand new, in 1985. It sure wasn't a cheap tractor I think in 1985 it was like $9,000 to $10,000 new or something like that

Hey David. The first and second stage are run directly off of the front PTO activated by an electric clutch. The lift/lower and chute rotation are on the two front hydraulic sets. Im pretty sure the tractor with the implements that he bought were in the 9K range. Thanks for watching.

Thanks Aswan. My father bought it new in 1985. It has a 54" mower deck, a 54" push plow, as well as the 47" blower. It has 1100 hours and has been extremely reliable. I added the Ruegg Cat 1 3 Pt hitch as well as the Quick Attach when I got the ballast box with the 2305 tractor. The box and the ag tires have eliminated the need for chains so far, but on sheet ice it can still have issues.

I see you manually adjust the show thrower chute. May I suggest you pick up an 12 volt electric linear actuator (6 - 8 inch throw) and bolt it to your discharge chute with a 3 way DPDT switch. I automated my Bercomac snowblower/Craftsman II tractor with this modification couple summers ago, and haven't looked back since. Works great even at -30 Deg. C. (just a little slower) but it saves getting on and off the machine just to adjust the discharge angle. I think cost was under $75 for all the parts. When I use my machine I want to BLOW SNOW, not fiddle around adjusting things. There are lots of youtube videos with this mod. Check it out.

Hey Oldgridoperator. I have actually already bought an actuator with only a 2" throw rated for cold weather. I also bought some LED bar lights and other accessories for the frequent times I have to clear snow at night. Thanks for the suggestion. I cant' wait to try it soon.
