Rims certainly has great potential. Hope that the sequel will include all 3 class of race replicas: 1000cc, 600/700cc and 300cc. That certainly could make the career mode more interesting as you try to climb up to higher displacement divisions.

Hi, Just wanted to say that this was a great video and I love your editing and reviewing style. A lot of reviewers can be quite obnoxious or gratuitously over the top, but you are neither of these things and I feel like I understand your views when you explain them. I've just picked up Ride 4 after watching that review and I appreciate how up front and honest you are with your feelings on games, a lot of people beat around the bush, or hold back. I would be a patreon sub if I was working (alas I currently can't) but at least that means I can watch all of your videos and get a whole bunch of ad revenue for you or something. Here's hoping this comment finds you well, please don't slow down on the reviewing front; I'd even be happy to hear you talk about old bike riding games from the super hang on times, or videos in the evolution of moto gp games. I mean, you could read a phone book and I'd tune in; you could make it work. Take care and all the best!
@DylonND2 жыл бұрын
I always try to be aware of how obnoxious i'm being and find a balance lol! And bro thank you so much for the comment! I'm working on several things at the moment, including my new Arma campaign, A motogp21 review, and of course cyberpunk as the release more content, and who knows, maybe I can read the phonebook too? :D And thanks, it might take me a little longer - but I'm thinking eventually I might be able to get a video out every few weeks. I just end up taking a lot of time to record the footage and write the scripts. Comments like this make me feel like everything was worth it. Have a good day Primeval Playstation!

Finally, a review that gets it, plus just about each point you are spot on my friend. Just hope they stick with it, further add to it, polish, and go on making sequel etc. Even iom tt2 i prefer to ride, in some ways, it's more hardcore, more visceral, thrilling, immersive, even the tracks look more believable. You feel the mechanics you're sitting on, and how it reacts, and the road too. The rider pov in rims is best, even in tt2 its pretty good. The sounds are better, more grunty, and overall more detailed, you hear all that's happening, whereas in ride you almost just hear the engine sleepy downing noise. Cheers, thanks for the vid, Any news, rumors on further developments from them?

The last big one was at the end of December, but I've been checking regularly. I'm not sure now at this point if they are going to add any DLC either based on what they said in the steam discussion. @@DylonND hello, hope so, the demo of rims wasn't optimized for std ps4 at least. Also ai is slow it seems. I can't choose!! I play on Xbox Series X

It's tough because there isn't really a game atm that checks all those boxes. I would say GTA online would be your best bet to actually have the free-roam, otherwise I would do Ride 3 or Rims Racing because of the amazing road courses and Rims has split screen! Although on the PC you can't do the road courses split screen. With Ride 3 you get variety and unlike 4 - Ride 3 has the snake, which you guys could probably ride on all day and a few other non race track tracks.

What you say about the bike's reaction to control is true, but are you sure you're using the correct term "physics"? As a computational physicist who rides motorcycles (on street and track), I can tell that the equations of motion are NOT being solved in any motorcycle racing game, or if they are, there is some kind of heavy-handed filtering to make the game more playable. No game that I've seen including Rims, has proper motion and inertia when the bike is going from vertical to leaning. BeamNG is clearly solving some equations of motion, but not Rims. Not even to first order (i.e. very, very inaccurately). BTW, I like Ride 4 and MotoGP 22, because they mostly do a good job of giving you the feeling of riding on track, but again, I'm pretty sure no two-wheel vehicle physics is being solved in real time. Searching for "bicycle physics unity" was promising but nothing looked really good.
@DylonND7 ай бұрын
Try Rims, I know everything is a compromise - but I really like the way it feels still. And oh GP Bikes! Those are my two heavy hitters. They both get the feeling of riding a bike, and to me GP Bikes has the best onboard feeling.

@DylonND In Ride 4 & 2, if the AI pushed me of the track, activate REWIND and give the AI a chase of its life, get near it and nudge them of the track and take the lead. REVENGE never been so satisfying. 😂🤣. Only best feature found in Ride 4 and 2. 👍

So you say this is harder than Ride 4? Can't take review seriously because that would mean only 4 people on planet can play it, probably koreans
@DylonND2 жыл бұрын
Way way harder! Ride 4 is easy for me, Rims is not.

GP Bikes has better physics but Rims is close.

It's the only game I've ever tried to get a refund for. It doesn't have anything like the fluidity of Moto GP's physics, it's clunky and rough; you can tell its built on the same engine as Isle of Man TT: Ride on the Edge 1&2. It's arcadey and weightless. Avoid.
@DylonND3 жыл бұрын
That's how I felt when I first played it, and got a refund - re bought it on sale and it really grew on me after that. I think it only really clicks after 4-5 hours. Which is maybe a bad thing that it takes so long to get into it?

@@DylonND No not at all, I have a 6:20 in Isle of Man, and I have 4,000 hours in Elite Dangerous 😁 I'm really not a fan of the game engine, IOM TT could have been sooooo much better. So could this really. I still have it though (the refund was denied) and I'm a stubborn bugger so I'll keep at it

@@BongoBaggins Hell yeah! I still need to play elite dangerous :D and yeah, I agree about the engine, I don't think anything has felt next gen as far as motorcycle games go theres so much potential now but no ones hit that next step. Have you played Suzuki superbike TT on the ps2? Man getting the isle of man time on that one was hard. And lol I am a stubborn bugger too.

Crappy game. It really is. They realized how bad it really is and instead of wasting more money by adding more content, they just decided to add some stupid minigames and useless features that nobody asked for and of course nobody liked. The physics are bad. Sorry. They're the same bad physics TTIOM2 has. Exact same ones. Bikes are not that stiff. Bikes don't just fall because you "leaned too much". It's actually really hard to "lean too much". You will lose the front before you "lean too much". Also the rear in real life, has GRIP. People get surprised at just how much grip fresh sticky tires have. You don't just lose the rear because you were a bit rough with the throttle. It will slide and you might get a bit shaking action. If you overdid it too much you'll get a highside which you might be able to save, but the bike doesn't just SNAP around and fall like it does in the game. So yeah, the game's full of shit. I do hope they'll make another one so that there's at least SOME "competition", although i doubt they will. This looks like it was just a scam. They took TTIOM2, dressed it up a bit, changed the bike models,added minigames and sold it for a bunch of money. Profit. The only good thing about the game was the sounds. Yes the sounds kicked ass.

I feel like we're all still waiting for that perfect open world game that just gets it right. That's why it's interesting how arcade motorcycle racers feel more realistic then one that's try to sim. Like IDK why, but the original Road Rash really feels like I'm flying down the highway between cars over my limit. And yeah I thought the mini games were silly, I'm just hoping another company comes in like the guys that make GT and make a new Tourist Trophy.
