Incitement to violence should be illegal but it needs to be tightly defined. “We should burn down or end X” is incitement to violence. Asking whether the UK is headed for civil war is not. But the gov is criminalising more than this, including the nebulous misinformation and disinformation, and then not applying their “rules” consistently. E.g., why hasn’t Nick Lowles of Hope Not Hate been arrested for misinformation likely to cause racial hatred? He backtracked on his comment, but so did that lady. She’s been punished. He hasn’t.

Rather interestingly, whilst I am in favour of free speech, I am not ALWAYS in favour of freedom of expression. The great thing about the internet is that while you should have the right to free speech, you don't have the right to force me to listen, and hopefully I can block you so I never have to listen to you any more if that is what I want. Any update on the Labour Party councillor is openly calling to slit people's throats in the streets. As I'm very concerned about his confidence in saying such things in public. People have been sentenced for online comments. The labour councillor said it on the streets and got a cheer. How long will he get sentenced for?

The government have STOPPED publishing crime stats. We see the stats from other European countries, so it is entirely reasonable to assume ours are roughly the same, and then the government decides not to publish them? I'm baffled as to why that might be.

Apparently, a lad in the UK was arrested and sentenced to years in prison for a prank of putting a ham sandwich in front of a mosque. That lad never made it out of prison alive. He died in prison after 2 years. Anyone remember poor Otto Warmbier? But that was in North Korea what happened to Otto Warmbier. One might rightly wonder: where is the difference to this poor lad?
