I live around 15 miles down the road from Chillingham. It's pronounced Chilling-AM, the H is silent. Also, when you're trying to reach the spirits of those who died hundreds of years ago, I doubt they understand modern slang like 'hanging out' and 'hanging around'.

I think this might just be me getting the accent wrong, haha. Although I do talk to my audience with 'modern slang,' I always try my best to address potential spirits in clear, easy to understand speech, which I think they'd be able to comprehend. I even went as far as to reach out in Spanish during my investigations in Central/South America (though I am honestly hopeless at speaking it). That is the most disturbing spirit box response I have ever captured. I can hear the emotion too and it makes me feel a little sick/gives me chills when I replay it. I don't know if you heard but when you were talking to "Adam" and asked Who hurt you I heard the word SAGE. John Sage was chief torturer at Chillingham. Also on the devils walk Hundreds of Scots were told they were free but when they were walking along the devils walkway crossbow and longbow men shot down from the castle wall and killed them all.Finally, the little dungeon under the small dungeon floor is called the OUBLIETTE and the bones are that of a small girl which have never been disturbed. Great video of one of my local castles, oh and my digital camera batteries went flat as soon as I walked through the gate!!

I think one of the torturers of the castle I believe was named John and and he was injured in a war and he couldn’t move one of his legs too well so it was said that he would drag his foot along when he walked. It is said that The Rack was his favorite method of torture. I learned that when Scariest Places on Earth were three years ago.

I have to ask but is there any excavations taking place to locate the human remains to give them a proper burial? I mean obviously not in their dungeon but elsewhere on the property? Also when they find bones what do they do with them? 😊

Thanks for the comment, Markus! This is an excellent question. I know that there are excavations going on to explore the under levels of the actual castle, where they believe there may be more bodies, though I'd assume they'd leave those ones alone. I'm really not sure about the surroundings of the castle. One of the staff mentioned that they continue to find bones, in particular along the Devil's Walk. Wish I'd asked what they did with them for you! Sorry, I can't answer that one for you! 🖤🖤🖤

We parked near the woods and the vehicles dash cam got stuck on 1 sec with a white mist. My camera also went very strange in the King Edwards room and I could take a photo....

I live about 25 miles away from Chillingham, and have never been there! After watching this and other videos of the castle I'm determined to go and stay overnight. Do not believe the ghost angle, but it will be great for local tourism.
