Chillingham Castle is one of the most interesting places I have ever visited. Really enjoyed revisiting through this film. Many thanks.

Probably due to our current world state, i find myself seeing a brutality and sadistic nature of most every country in the world. If you have to execute a criminal to what gain. The lengthy evil to impose on even a simple theft, and even children because they stole a bread. It's just madness.

I've been waiting for years to watch this, cheers Richard. I've spent over 5 years researching the actual history of this castle and was pleased with most of this video. Saying that, I'm just glad Richard didn't get onto John Sage, because there is absolutely NO written evidence to say he existed. There's some crap in this video and a few truths. I've got to get back up there and make a video that will blow the lid of this castle. It all revolves around making money out of the stories, 90% are untrue and have no substance or evidence to support them.

Hi regarding the stories how do you know a lot of it is crap? I appreciate you’ve researched it but I’d like to know why u think it’s made up alot of it?
@anthonyjames.5170 Жыл бұрын
@@danwelham Each time I've been up there I've researched as much as I could about Chillingham Castle history. The documents are scares. If John Sage was a big enough character and the King's right hand man, then he would have been mentioned in HISTORICAL documents - there is NOTHING!!! None of these stories were ever heard of until Alan Robson appeared in Scariest Places on Earth. If you follow Robson's stories, some change, some new one's pop up and then check them against who was around at that era and what was happening in that area. NOTHING matches up. He's a professional STORY TELLER. There is NO DOCUMENTED evidence. Check for yourself.

I don’t know barley anything about John sage but I believe what you say my point was you said there’s some crap in this video an few truths? I’m listening to the ghost stories an accounts what I ment was are you saying these stories are false an fake when you say few truths? Or just referring to John sage?
@anthonyjames.5170 Жыл бұрын
@@danwelham From my research, I've written a 22 page document about what is historically known about the castle and what is not documented against the alleged stories. I'm going to keep it brief here; all the guides are taught from the same script that FIRST came about from Alan Robson. Note that they always say 'it is said' or 'people say...' This is not fact but to simply carry the unconfirmed story which the castle relies on to help bring in customers. Mr. Wakefield has NEVER mentioned John Sage in all the interviews he done over the years. As for the torture chamber, when Mr. Wakefield bought the castle in 1982, he knocked the rooms right through from ceiling to floor and there was no evidence of a bricked up entrance to a torture chamber anywhere. Castle historians have stated that if there ever was a torture chamber, it would most likely have been under the Minstrels Gallery cafe' room. This is the closest you'll get to saying there was a torture chamber. If there was no torture chamber, then EVERY story connected to John Sage is false. Also there is absolutely no historical documentation about him or anyone with that name connected to the King. If he was the King's right hand man, then he would have got a mention. As Alan Robson says, he was the Alan Sharer of Chillingham, a hero know all over the North, and yet - nothing. As for the King Edward Room, take a look at early photo's of the castle. it's claimed the window was put in for the King's visit. The window was not put in until after 1982. As for the hanging trees, they could have been used as such but now Alan Robson calls them 'The witchy Woods' where hundreds of witches were killed and buried. Chillingham is a tiny place and would never have had HUNDREDS of witches. This would have been documented like the Salam witch trials, again - nothing. There's plenty more but saying that, it is haunted. We also stayed in The Grey Room where at the beginning, Richard Felix says he heard footsteps upstairs, above that part of the castle is just the roof, no other rooms. As for 12:20, 30/40 thousand people buried there - seriously, in that small space. No chance. At 55:18, the curse, "we made it as a joke at first". Great made up story to stop superstitious people stealing stuff and as far as I'm concerned, they've just built on it. Then there's the skeleton in the Oubliette, yes they say it's not real which is fine, but these day's it's passed off as a real persons skeleton. There are hell of a lot more inconsistences that I'm not putting on here. just don't believe everything you here about this place. Yes it's haunted, I've experienced it myself on several occasions

I heard the same curse just the other day, but it was an old mining town in America, saying people who took away stuff returned them because bad things started to happen to them

And yes trying to make money .. never trust the location that says it's haunted and then turn around and charge you for being there.. welcome to the b******* factor and it's still hasn't ended.. I crave the day when all these wanna Be Psych bullshit artists get what they truly deserve.. the one thing I've always liked about is he tells a good tale. That's why I watch these because at least you know there are for entertainment and not claiming to true paranormal investigations.. they're always going to be a classic for that reason.. but please don't have a puppet people Richard when you've made a lot by helping everyone believe ghosts... I left the paranormal field because there was nothing left to investigate and the scene was just full of liars cheaters scammers and complete psychic.. you couldn't go to a paranormal event without sounding like you're in an episode of most faked haunted.. I actually went to an actual recording of most haunted and they were doing retake retake.. Yvette Fielding needed to brush her hair.. let's retake ppl.. I didn't know ghosts did reshoots.. in the 24-hours they claimed to be on site was not 24 hours . I've spoke to many people who worked on the show before I went back to military service for Ukraine. Most haunted has been proven time and time again to be faking this is show Richard you work on . People believe anything when there is money involved.. no need to reply I won't be here
