Hey, someone from Chicago here! I remember when the third robbery in the video happened. This was a house not even a minute away from me… just a couple of steps away from my house. Thank god I wasn’t robbed that day.

DON'T leave your garage door openers in your cars. Lock all outside doors and get an alarm system for the house. Arm yourselves as a pure defensive measure.

The car in the garage for the first video is a GT-R or a 350z/370z. This guy really is a professional and not just randomly choosing a house.

We had something similar to the 2nd story happen to us while no one was home except our dog, thankfully unharmed. My younger brother came home to find everything ransacked and our dog terrified in a closet. The police found the guy hours later at a local school, and when they found my brother's wallet and medication on him he tried to say that he was his drug dealer lol. Turned out the dude was baked out of his mind and smashed our back window then rummaged through our house trying to find drugs. He left with just the wallet and my brother's allergy medication

Leaving your door unlocked with innocent children at home always frustrates me. Why would parents risk their own children being abused &/or kidnapped? Obviously my first thought is for all the victims, but here’s my hot take: Are the parents not being negligent? I get forgetting one night, but never locking the door, why?

Brother I know you have to play it up a bit for the video but I was cracking up around 2:05. "Unphased" LOL. That dude walked towards that room, noticed there was someone in the house, said "oh sh** I didn't think there was anybody in here let me get what I'm after and get out", then turned around and got back to robbing the place lol.

As someone who experienced a break in last year, it is the most terrifying thing ive ever had happen. Even being in the UK and not nessecarily fearing firearms, all i heard was a noise from outside, and didnt recognise it as anything major and thought it was someone being stupid late at night. The next thing i heard was my dog tearing out of the kitchen, and footsteps running up my stairs, i shouted out. They proceeded to go into my mother in laws room, stepped in my gaming room, didnt even take anything from it even with consoles etc clearly on display, upon not finding what they wanted, came into my room and asked where my neighbour was. At that point it was clear, they didnt even mean to break into my house, and intended to get next door, i had to tell them at least 5 times while in tears that they had the wrong house. To make it worse, i was all alone, my fiancée and mother in law went on holiday and i stayed to look after the dog. I never in my life thought something like this would happen, all doors were locked etc, they pushed a pannel in my rear door through to climb inside. I now sleep with a baseball bat and sword beside me.

super creepy. More reminders why you NEVER leave a door, window, or car unlocked. EVER. The guy who find the robber sleeping in his bed is another reminder why you do not enter your home if you realize it has been burglarized...you wait for the police to clear it.

For #1.. Why would you not change your garage door opener settings so that the old one could not be used? Also, chances are pretty high that the car in the driveway was unlocked.. Some people really have the "it won't happen to me" mentality when it comes to home safety.
