After the existence of Rukkhadevata was stricken from teyvat, it stands to reason that a fundamental force of teyvat could make someone like the abyss sibling part of the world.

Thing is, the fundamental force that removed Rukkhadevata seemed to not be enough when it comes to dealing with Descenders, seeing as our Traveler was unaffected by the wipe. So it has to be something even more powerful if it can rewrite a descender’s fate.

I think the reason the unknown god send us back and trapped us in Teyvat is because leaving Teyvat is against Lumine's fate. She belongs to Teyvat so she can't just leave. Lumine said she can't leave and go to the next world with us yet and that she has to go to war with destiny so maybe going against Celestia is the only way for her to change her fate back to normal and be able to leave

That makes sense. In the We Will Be Reunited quest, when Dainsleif and Paimon recap what Traveler told them, they mention that the Sibling outright stated "The destruction of Khaenri'ah has plunged the world into chaos." Paimon even asks confirmation that the Sibling said Khaenri'ah. So when the Sibling woke the Traveler and they tried to leave Teyvat together, the Sibling already knew what Khaenri'ah was and had probably been already been there. What I don't understand is the timeline of when the Sibling traveled Teyvat with Dainsleif. A lot of people say it was after the Cataclysm, but the first time we go to Stormterror's lair with Dainsleif, he said that the last time he had been there was _before_ Dvalin was poisoned by Durin, which happened during the Cataclysm. I think it's implied he had visited there with the Sibling. It would make sense if the Sibling traveled across Teyvat in search of the Traveler, since it seems like the reason the Sibling didn't wake the Traveler until after Khaenri'ah was destroyed is because they landed in two separate locations when they first arrived.

@@RandomGirl119 to me it only makes sense that dain and lumine traveled together before the calamity, otherwise she wouldn't have time to develop a sense of empathy and kindship with kanri'ah. Like now we travel together with paimon together, but if monstand would be now destroyed and crushed and both we and the people of monstand would be cursed. We would ally together. But if the same thing would happen between the us of now and lets say fontaine. There wouldn't be much of a connection there. Lumine brought the feather that was the symbol of kanri'ah to the 'dying' hilichurls. She is the 'princess of the abyss'. It makes total sense for her and dain to have been traveling together though the 7 nations for whatever reason before the calamity. And then Dain only getting back to late to sop anything and not really able to protect kariah when everything went bad

In Rukkhadevata's case it wasn't exactly her existence that was erased, just the memories of her existence. She still existed and everything she did still happened, it's just that there are no more records, both physical and memories.

isn't that just all semantics, though? what does it matter if rukkhadevata still existed (which i agree with actually) if not a single thing in the world remembers her? to the world, its people, its surroundings, its physical records... she essentially did not exist at all. being forgotten by everyone and everything is pretty much the same as not existing. so i argue that yes, rukkhadevata's existence was essentially erased, even if not 100% literally.

I think the sibling was recorded into irminsul because of their journey. Nahida noted that the record started after cataclysm when they started journeying across Teyvat and became muddled when the journey was over. The irminsul can't record the sibling, but the sibling still interacted with the denizens of Teyvat, and therefore recorded themselves through the memories of the people that they interacted with. This might be the reason why they wanted the Traveler to finish their journey; that is to weave themselves into the fate of Teyvat not by directly altering the irminsul, but by incorporating themselves into the irminsul through the memories of the people of teyvat.
@osinevan
@osinevan Жыл бұрын
@Can'tthinkofaname Just ot rephrase how I see it. The Sibling came to this world much earlier. They completed their journey across the seven nations. Collecting all 7 elements (Maybe 8 if we count Khaenri'an magic), And at that point, faced with their new found emotional connection to the world, chose to stand with the people - known as Khaenri'ans then, and Abyss now. Thus choosing to intertwine their fate to this world. The Traveler is on the very same journey. Everywhere they went, they made friends, saved the countries from cataclysms or disasters and connected to the archon statues. Or more accurately - the elements that are like the world governing laws of physics. By the time we reach the final chapter, all of these could weigh down the Travaler to intertwine their fate as well. Willingly or forcefully. Just to the current nations and their people, not the abyss. And perhaps we will get a choice to simply use the power we acquired to rewrite our fate - forcefully disconnect ourselves and our sibling from Teyvat (Something the other Sibling simply chose not to do). It makes sense that Dainsleif would not want, as it would most likely rewrite history and make him forget the Sibling who they admire at the very least. So I think it's either the elements that bind you or the sheer quantity of memories you create is enough to overcome the "Descender" label and you become accepted as part of this world.

@Can'tthinkofaname If this is the case what if something that tampers with the sibling's fate is none other than death? What if our sibling has "died" before therefore they became part of the irminsul as a result I mean we never know when we and our sibling truly descent into teyvat, so it's possible that something like that happening and Lumine appearing in Khanrieah suddenly might be caused by the cataclysm, like she was a byproduct of a leak or something like that

Relating to this, I strongly believe Khaenri’ah could be the "Kingdom established among the heavens" described in the BattlePass cutscene! I feel like Hoyo has us so distracted by Khaenri’ah being known for its tech, we're overlooking why would an entire civilization have primordial star eyes, a symbol strongly associated & linked with the heavens! (Ex: Kaeya, Dainsleif, etc.). Khaenri’ah being the kingdom established among the heavens would make so many pieces fall into place regarding Lumine & surrounding the entire story in general- if she’s the fallen heir, it’d provide a strong reason for why Lumine’s fate became tied to Teyvat as well as her connection & feeling toward Khaenri’ah, not to mention her current role of being controlled/connected to dark forces that relate to both of those very events (Khaenri’ah connection + abyss creatures/organization she's currently tied to are likely the same forces the fallen heir from BP fell victim to & was corrupted by), a deeper connection between Abyss sibling & Dainsleif that was hinted at in story, the true identity of the mysterious kingdom we hear about all the time, etc. I could be wrong, but I feel this is entirely & reasonably possible! EDIT: (3 things to take into account) 1. Irminsul & leylines are connected to the heavens/Celestia as are primordial star eyes found in Khaenri'ah. 2. Bough means the main branch of a tree (referring back to branches of the leylines/Irminsul) & Dainsleif is referred to as the "Bough keeper", so that translates to guard/keeper of the Leylines/Irminsul that we know are connected to the heavens/Celestia. It further deepens the possibility for Khaenri'ah being the kingdom established among the heavens & makes sense for Dainsleif to be the keeper of the leylines/Irminsul if he's from the kingdom established among the heavens & he failed at that duty for whatever reason yet to be revealed to us relating to the unknown god that likely caused the calamity of Khaenri'ah. Who else would be tasked with protecting the leylines/Irminsul of the heavens than someone from the kingdom of the heavens?

Same for the Twins, like the parallels with their names. Aether is Clear, Void, or Sky depending(And this pun is why I chose Lumine.) Lumine can mean Light or can be word play on Illuminate, an the Abyss consumes Light. The funny part is now with the lore... If swapped the names still fit. Aether can be seen as the Abyss trying to rid of the false sky as the Abyss Twin, plus the abyss is a void. But it can also be taken as he doesn't technically exist. Lumine can see as the light consumed by the void, but could also be seen as illuminating the truth or a bright future. So names have meaning but can be taken many ways.

I think there are many hints to suggest that the Moirai are represented by the 3 departed Moon sisters, particularly in this line from the Xiphos' Moonlight weapon; "Whichever direction the wind blows, there is never a single ripple in the cup of life. The three departed goddesses had long determined the heroes' fate, even if they could never fathom it themselves." If the fate weavers were indeed the Moon sisters that are now dead, it could explain why Teyvat has been experiencing a psuedo-samsara. Without the Sisters operating the Loom of Fate, no new fates can be woven and none of the old fates can be cut, resulting in a world that operates completely in a cycle, albeit with minor differences. A good example of the world looping is this: During the rebellion in Old Monstadt 2,000+ years ago, a 'youth, a spirit, an archer, a knight and a wandering flame-haired warrior' ascended Decarabian's tower to overthrow him. Now, in the Monstadt Archon quest, we have the exact same composition of people [Traveler, Paimon, Venti, Jean and Diluc] ascending the same tower to defeat a corrupted Dvalin.

I think the big revelation we're supposed to get from this is to not take the Irminsul records of history at face value. It stands to reason that if a factual figure, rukhadevata, can be written out of it that things can also be written in to it. We also don't really know if Irminsul can properly record things like what happens in the middle part of a samsara, it just hasn't been asked yet.

So a theory (more like sinking feeling) has been rattling around in my head for over a year that someone died in the past. It was either us (the traveler) or our (abyss) sibling. I was leaning more toward the traveler being once dead because of the huge gaps in traveler's living memory of Teyvat then their sibling's (because what made Traveler be in a long sleeping mode when our sibling woke up and made connections with people of Khaenri'ah). So the sibling joined forces with tech-advanced Khaenri'ah to find a way to bring traveler back to life. But now, after the latest archon quest revelations, the whole thing flipped on its head. It's our sibling that died, Dainsleif or traveler or someone else from Khaenri'ah in the past found her body and someone (probably Gold) re-animated them back to life.Thus our sibling became part of Teyvat (and why Irminsul started storing information on them from a sudden point in time from 500 years ago) as they were (re)born in this world. Whereas us traveler is a descender and some entity definitely messed with traveler's past memory to cover this whole thing up.
@jesuisradmusic
@jesuisradmusic Жыл бұрын
I agree... For quite some time, I've had a theory floating around my head that the Abyss Twin died, and when Dainsleif got Gold to bring them back to life, this is what caused the cataclysm. After all, breaking the moral cycle of life and death would be seen as the greatest act of arrogance by mankind. This would further explain why the Abyss Twin is so dedicated to the Khaenri'ahans and breaking the curse, so much so that they are seemingly choosing their Abyss mission over leaving Teyvat with the Traveler. Their very existence and life is the cause of the cataclysm, and they are seeking to atone for the guilt this makes them feel. The way they eerily say, "And when you reach journey's end, then you will understand the truth of this world," really made me think that they were refering to death rather than a more physical journey.
@AnUrbanGhost
@AnUrbanGhost Жыл бұрын
@@jesuisradmusic yes, this might well be why but I feel that cataclysm is a a different kettle of fish. It happened because Gold's practice of the Art of Khemia 500 years ago and creating powerful monstrous creatures and using those creatures to attack the seven nations. Our sibling's reanimation, creating Albedo- these could be a contributing factor, but not the final nail in the coffin. Bring them back to life, giving a outlander a home is reason enough for Abyss sibling to be determined and devoted to the mission - resurrection of Khaenri'ah; why they call Khaenri'ah their homeland.

The reason there is so many gaps is because the traveler wakes up AFTER the abyss sibling. They don't know what is going on because they weren't there for it. After, he was sealed and woke up 500 years later. It isn't gaps in the memory, the memories are t a thing to begin with

@@AnUrbanGhost Before, I apologise if I sounded rude. I want to point out some missing or gaps in your theory. Gold's practice in the Art of Khemia 500 years ago was not to create a powerful monster to invade the 7 nations but to create a new life. As far as we know, Khaen'riah is an underground civilization like the Chasm, where living being there is quite rare (?) Idk how to put the word, because English is not my first language. Gold wants to create a living being, which is considered an act of arrogance. Since the power of making a living being is held by Gods or the primordial one, the cataclysm occurred. Not only that, I think not just by trying to create another living being, but also they may or may not be stained by the forbidden knowledge from the abyssal power. The Primordial One feared the forbidden knowledge, this information got highlighted in the new set of artefacts in Sumeru. Not just Khaen'riah, but the civilization in Dragonspine and Chasm got the punishment from Phanes because of the forbidden knowledge, the Skyfrost Nail.

These "Descender" revelations are really interesting to me. Many theorize that the Abyss Sibling is dead, a clone, does not remember their origins and etc. But many things do point out that the sibling remembers their origin as an outsider from Teyvat. They even say a sentece "Outsiders dont belong to this world" on the We Will Be Reunited Trailer. Furthermore, on the latest Genshin Annyversary trailer, Enjou and the Abyss Prince(ss) discussed about the Traveler's fate in a caring way, indicating that the sibling still cares. Now, about their fate, it is extremelly possible that the three moira were those who changed it. In the Genshin Impact online manga, we can see three dark figures in Venti's flashback at the first edition, when Vanessa asks him about Celestia, and he appears to have a huge fear of them, just like the Greek Gods also feared the moira. I wonder how is Dainsleif going to affect this new plot, being the "bought keeper" or "truth seeker", direct translation from his nickname in portuguese at the game.

I'm thinking it is Irminsul that made the sibling a part of Teyvat, and is hiding their fate. In Germanic lore, Irminsul is sometimes depicted as a pillar with deific statue on top. Like a Statue of the seven. The traveler first connects to, then offers up oculi to the statues that repairs them, strengthening their connection and in return is rewarded with an element and memories that gives them new stars for their constellation or rewrites them with each new element. Oculi being the inner light that carries prayers to the heavens, and memories being the material for unlocking their constellations. There are so many ways the traveler interacts with Irminsul during their journey, through resin, primogems, fates, and the statues. The traveler even interacts directly with some offshoots of the Irminsul, branches if you will, like the frostbearing tree, the Divine Sakura, and the tree of dreams. Irminsul's roots form the ley lines, and reach down to the Abyss, likely forming the Abyssal currents. Perhaps the branches form the Elemental Currents in the Realm of light. Even though Nahida is connected to and is an avatar for the Irminsul, she is not the Irminsul itself. So if the Irminsul wanted to hide something from her it could.

Because so on their way to another world they was stopped because the Lumine we know is a clone so we was stop and detailed and because of that the destruction of Khaenriah begin. Now the clone objective updated and she only join the Abyss and seek the destruction of Celestia is because it the only way to leave the world with Aether because she have to clear the only thing that blocking the way out.

For me the irminsol parallels the Akasha system. Similarly the dream world In Nahida's quest parallels the Teyvat. The fact that Dain's last line in the trailer is about "there are those who dare to dream" i feel like teyvat is a dream world and hence the skies are false and also why abyss sibling is not a descender as he is trapped here similar to the guy whose consciousness was uploaded in the Akasha.

@@leandroangelomiguelsanchez7883 I mean if we use this as a basis for the format, that would basically be Celestia since they’re the big kahunas in all this and while they exist outside of Teyvat’s laws being another foreign entity to the world after they punted Phanes/Primordial One, exert their influence over everything in Teyvat rewriting its fabric to suit their needs (segregating the abyss and dark sea from the main continent, cursing civilizations like Enkanomiya, Sal Vidagynr, and Khaen’riah, etc.) So yeah if it was a dream they would be the owners, though there’s also arguments to be had that it’s something else that’s quite similar to a dream, being a pocket dimension of some sort or another. It’s also interesting to attest that, as a reminder, Teyvat IS a continent, not the entire world as dialogue from our playable MC feels the need to point out a bunch of times in their character page whenever Paimon messes it up, yet everyone that we experience in the game including Paimon herself who’s supposed to be our “guide” mistakes or makes no mention of the existence of other continents and intrinsically implies Teyvat to be the “world” in their eyes/perspective. The only time we’ve gotten information to the contrary is in Enkanomiya where the lore information states that humanity was once one culture and also once on one giant slate of land much like Pangaea on ancient Earth before divisions started happening with people forming into different countries and the first gods (Phanes/PO) came from another star and punted the dragon heirs from being the dominant power, allowing more human civilizations in-turn to flourish.

The traveller specifically has memories about travelling countless worlds together though, something that can't be manipulated by the irminsul. If you ask me, its more possible if the abyss sibling died before, and got ressurected in Khaenriah, most likely by Gold, making them "suddenly" appear there in irminsul. Though knowing mihoyo, its likely much more interesting and convoluted than that, with much more things at play that hasn't been introduced. The idea that Gold is the one tampering with irminsul feels very interesting (and personally, I'd say likely) though, since she's a very potent alchemist from a subterranean nation, meaning she's brilliant PLUS much closer to irminsul than normal people of teyvat.

Here's my list of most likely descenders: 1) The Primordial One (Probably the Heavenly Principles); 2) The Second Throne (Celestia/the ones who introduced the Sky Island); 3) I'll go into this in next paragraph; 4) Traveler. There are some others too: Aloy (unlikely as she is not included in this game's lore; Alice (I find her to be the most likely third); The Outlander who fell in love with the Seelie who ended up dooming the Seelies (This Outlander could also be the one who created Celestia, so could be the same as No. 2); The first princess who became the princess of darkness from the battle pass intro (Read asterisked paragraph at end); The second prince from the battle pass intro (read asterisked paragraph at end); Someone from the Honkai-verse (highly unlikely, but there is evidence that supports the two game universes being connected, and if someone from Honkai-verse visited they would be considered an outlander); * In my opinion, the most likely outcome is 1) Prim One; 2) Celestia; 3) Alice; 4) Traveler. Celestia was created by the Outlander who doomed the Seelies. *The abyss sibling is the first princess, the traveler is the second prince. To our current knowledge, Teyvat originally included Two Realms, and Three sources of power: The two realms were the upper realm and the abyss, ruled by the vishaps and whoever is in the abyss (It is highly speculated that the Seelies predate the primordial one's arrival, as seelies served as guides to humans, and humans were brought by the primordial one. I believe Seelies have a relation to the abyss, as the only power known to curse comes from the abyss, but this does not mean that Seelies come from the abyss), and the three powers are the elements (vishaps), abyssal, and ley line (irminsul). For Lumine to become "part of this world", she must have been injected with one of these three powers, and we have only seen elemental power and abyss power able to be used be used by sentient life (ley lines seem to not be able to be controlled). The traveller has been injected with elemental power but is still is seen as foreign, but the abyss doesnt just inject but contaminates/curses. The abyss can even curse irminsul and ley lines. Thus, it is highly likely Lumine has been contaminated by the abyss. *About the bp trailer: First, I want to clarify that the "first princess" and "second prince" probably are not actual princes and princesses, rather it is a story representation of what really happened. An Ashikai video speculated that Khaenri'ah wanted to borrow Celestial power (skyfrost nails) to stop the abyssal power. What if they found an even stronger power, the Genesis Pearl? The Genesis Pearl could be sought by Khaenri'ah to stop the Abyss, and Lumine happened to have visited Khaenri'ah. However, she finds the Genesis Pearl, but the Pearl is not what it seems. What Khaenri'ah thought could save them from the abyss, was the source of the abyss's power, meaning that the genesis pearl, depicted as a pearl in a clam (symbolizing the origin of something) encircled by a black viper with red eyes and poison dripping fangs (symbolizing the abyss i.e. the abyss protects the pearl). It just so happens that after first arriving to Teyvat, the traveler was in a deep slumber while Lumine was awake and ended up in Khaenri'ah. Two outlanders, why did the heavenly principles act to stop them from leaving? Because Aether was with Lumine, and to Aether's ignorance, Lumine had touched the Genesis Pearl, and is no longer and outlander, but one of the abyss.

Amazing theories, I agree with most, but there are 2 issues: memories and actual timeline. Btw Lumine couldn't be contaminated with Abyss, Abyss isn't corruption, it different clear gold force, corruption is violet or red. Spoiler ahead!! Memory can be false or deleted so we don't know if unknown god trapped siblings before or after calamity. But Traveler is only living person we know immune to curse and weak it's effect as Dainslef says and can't lose memory, maybe even resist corrosion, which even gods can't avoid, so he must Descendant or true original inhabitant of Teyvat, they both could be living in Khaeanriah. In my crazy probably complete wrong theory 😃: 1 Siblings try leave Teyvat and got caught. 2 Unknown gods seeing humans advance stepped down and try destroy most advanced Khaeanriah. (theory) 3 Khaeanriah try survive, open portal to Abyss to save them self, (theory), 6 archons go to Khaeanriah (confirmed lore in game) 2 archons died 4. Heavenly Principles got knocked out and put into sleeping. Archons lies 5 Monsters destroy Khaeanriah and go to rest of Teyvat.(confirmed?) 6 Archons alone fight with monsters, there is no info about Celestia support in Monstadt, Lyiue and Inazuma. Sumeru join forces with Khaeanriah (desert lore confirmed :), Fatui is created, they know about everything :) 7. Traveler woke up somewhere and helped fight Mariana in Sumeru ( he or she was legendary hero Waruna) (confirmed lore in game)

Whether they either know explicitly or implicitly all the messed up shit their ruling party does and choose to have just as much of a stick-up ego and bull-headedness that the ruling party has, or if they are only somewhat aware of the problem and just let it be because they’re propagandized to believe that all the actions of the HP are just. I don't think the fatui knows there's a distinction between the primordial one and the second who came, they might just know of the heavenly principles. I'm not huge on lore, but here are some thought of how I got to understand the lore up until this point. Its heavily suggested that actions in Teyvat and its universe are cyclical. I always understood that we are going through the same journey as our siblings did in the past. So Lumine might have to meet Rukkhadevata at some point. But Rukkhadevata was wiped of existence, if that's the case all info Rukkhadevata input into Irminsul based on her personal lived experiences might have been wiped as well. The conversation between Doctor and Nahida happens after Rukkhadevata was already wiped, and we don't know how that affected Irminsul into and the info that Fatui has. But we do know that all references to Rukkhadevata are gone. Nahida's description was severely altered before and after the quest, so it's quite possible that lore-wise we've just entered the timeline where Rukkhadevata erasure also erased and altered many other info. A part of me truly thinks that when Nahida will be wiped by a copy she'll make in the future, Ather will become part of Tayvat as well. Records of his actions will remain which are effectively presenting him to be tangled with Tayvats fate, aka someone who is of Tayvat, just like it may have happened to Lumine right at the moment when Nahida cleansed Rukkhadevata part of the Irminsul.

It would be fine if Irminsul records our interactions with others, but according to Nahida, it doesn't. So how are we able to have conversations with people? They remember us, but that memory isn't stored in Irminsul. If someone we interacted with is deleted, then wouldn't the memory of our interactions with them be maintained since it's not part of Irminsul. Where ARE those 'memories' being stored. In us? Or does Irminsul not actually work how we think it does. Also, based on our interactions with time, Teyvat doesn't seem to be on the world tree. Maybe it's in the sea of quanta, with Irminsul acting as a substitute to the world tree so Teyvat doesn't just become data absorbed by the sea of quanta.

I think we are in a Samsara created by Irminsul; it makes sense if you consider that part of the 3.0 or 3.1 announcement special recap where your sister talks about your journey, and how she suspiciously knows that you will be leaving your mark in sands of Sumeru soon...like she's been through it before. Nahida said your sister appeared 500 in Khaenr'iah, and she travel to the 7 nations but the memories of the end of her journey becomes fuzzy. Irminsul is like a giant Akasha system; the people of Teyvat only know of things recorded by the tree; after being attached to Irminsul for so long, the people can no longer distinguish between truth and lies, we become "machines' that don't even question the information we receive. It's also shown that we can erase these memories (except Traveller who isn't from Teyvat) and go on as Rhukadevata never existed. BUT what if we burn the tree? Current knowledge of Teyvat will be erased from history, but what we gain is new knowledge that might be the real truth/fate behind this world. Collei's/Traveler's vision of the burning tree would also come true. Like Greater Lord to Lesser Lord, our sibling is leaving breadcrumbs for us in hopes that we may reach a different solution in the end and maybe...delete her from this world. The twins just might be two branches from the same tree. I don't know, but it gets me excited to keep going.

I have a far fetched theory of who might be obfuscating our sibling fate.When Nahida said that there was someone obfuscating our sibling fate, I remembered a voice line of a knight in the chasm that said " Companion of that tyrant "Fate" the traveler known as "Calamity" to the traveler when we get close to him. (THEORY Add-On) I strongly believe Khaenri’ah could be the "Kingdom established among the heavens" described in the BattlePass cutscene! I feel like Hoyo has us so distracted by Khaenri’ah being known for its tech, we're overlooking why would an entire civilization have primordial star eyes, a symbol strongly associated & linked with the heavens! (Ex: Kaeya, Dainsleif, etc.). Khaenri’ah being the kingdom established among the heavens would make so many pieces regarding Lumine & surrounding the entire story in general, fall into place- if she’s the fallen heir, it’d provide a strong reason for why Lumine’s fate became tied to Teyvat as well as her connection to Khaenri’ah, not to mention her current role of being controlled/connected to dark forces that relate to both of those very events (Khaenri’ah + abyss creatures/organization if they're the dark forces she fell victim to), a deeper connection between Abyss sibling & Dainsleif that was hinted at in story, the true identity of the mysterious kingdom we hear about all the time, etc. EDIT: (3 things to take into account) 1. Irminsul & leylines are connected to the heavens/Celestia as are primordial star eyes found in Khaenri'ah. 2. Bough means the main branch of a tree (referring back to branches of the leylines/Irminsul) & Dainsleif is referred to as the "Bough keeper", translating to guard/keeper of the leylines/Irminsul that we know are connected to the heavens/Celestia.

I think the abyss cursed her and implant her fate into Irminsul, since the abyss once tried to corrupt the Irminsul when the cataclysm happened, maybe that's when that happened. Or MAYBE It's the Heavenly Principle or Celestia that curses Lumine along with Khaenriah, since she was there when it happened, maybe they purposely or accidentally cursed her when they cursed the whole Khaenriah (curse of immortality, as well as turning some people into hillichurls and husks). Since Lumine is an outlander, the curse bind her into Irminsul instead of turning her into monster.

I'm thinking... what if at the end of Lumine's journey she did something to the loom of fate and was the reason she became bound to Teyvat and also this change was what caused the Cataclysm, because it messed the timeline. We know that the stella fortunas are supposed to be representations of destiny for the people of teyvat. Well, as the travelers, as we complete each region, we are gaining stella fortunas for that element. I'm sure eventually they reach a critical mass and can no longer subconsciously repel thus unseen binding.

We can blame the weaving of fate on Sussty (The Sustainer of Heavenly Principles). When the twins try to leave Teyvay it was after the MC wakes up in the middle of the cataclysm and is trying to level. Regardless of which twin you pick the sibling is captured without issue by Sussty. However, there is a frame when Sussty tries to capture us and there is a look of *Shock* on her face, something has gone wrong with her plan for us. I think Sussty has captured and woven our sibling fate into Teyvat/Irmunsel. Something might have interfered with Sussty weave of our fate as the Traveller. I could be as simple as Sussty absorbing our sword first and disrupting the gathering of information on us. OR one also on a high level interrupting Sussty, like say another god....

@@Alex-vv2ud I have a theory about this: she (the unknown goddess) realized that maybe the Traveller's sibling founded Khaenri'ah (the nation she wanted to stop before they reach the level of gods without being the power from them/using only technology or their own, self-developed magic), but she wasn't from this world just like her brother... so this realisation was clearly written on her face with this shock I guess. I have the feeling that she saw Lumine's memories in the cube or something similar. BTW I think Lumine was recorded into Irminsul not only because of her journey in Teyvat (and the contact which she made with the nations/people), but because of she was the founder of Khaenri'ah. And this is the reason for the misunderstanding, why Isminsul thinks that she was born/belong to Tevyat. while the Traveller wasn't. (Or maybe I'm totally wrong and this Lumine is a Humunculus version of the original twin without Albedo's "birthmark" on her neck.) P.S.: I had this theory from the beginning: the Traveller slept too long (while they were separated from each other), so Lumine had enough time to found Khaenri'ah (in my theory Lumine's plan was to found a new home/nation for them if she meet again with Aether and they can be together forever in Tevyat) before Aether woke up after 500 years and started his own journey as the Traveller. The unknown goddess is maybe "Fate" or "Time/Tempus" (if we count the timetravelling as skill), who clearly knows that Lumine will found the nation of Khaenri'ah in the future, so she tried to stop her before she could do that, but she didn't know 2 thing: first that the siblings from other wold, second: this moment will be the trigger of the foundation in the future. IDK what's the truth, but I really like the theories about the unknown Lore.

I'd like to add my own interpretation and theory closer regarding the unknown goddess but also the sibling issue.. Please mind I came up with this before watching this video so some things go against the statements made in it. DISCLAIMER: This is just my theory and thoughts put into words, I am fully aware all of this could be totally wrong. My theory was build upon seeing the Irminsul in the recent 3.5 update and also its corruption. If you looked very closely at the background and the sky behind the Irminsul, there were red cubes to be seen. Similar to the red cubes that seem to have destroyed Kaenriah and the cubes the unknown goddess can control. Now we know through Nahida that the Irminsul was corrupted by forbidden knowledge. This leads me to believe that the very goddess who took our sibling is connected to the forbidden knowledge. This knowledge is reverred to as "forbidden" since even the gods of Teyvat cannot comprehend it, as it is not from this world. That means the unknown goddess is something even above the archons. After all, she seems to control the red cubes. From our current knowledge that doesn't leave many option for her true identity. Either she could be another descender (maybe the third that Nahida can't get information on, since they would have gotten deleted from Irminsul along with the forbidden knowledge) or the primordial one or one of their subordinates. These are the only beings we know so far that stand above the archons of Teyvat. If we now look at the place we met he unknown goddess at, it bears huge resemblance to the same place we can see in the loading screen. In my opinion this place could be Celestia, as the architecture is the same as the sky needles, which are known to be of celestial descend. Celestia, to my knowledge, is the first Descenders domain. Following that the unknown goddess would be the first descender. However, if she is one of the descenders that still begs the question why she was so keen on stopping us on our journey and taking our sibling. Regarding the sibling issue: I wouldn't necessarily believe they are not siblings, as Nahida made it sound. It's very well possible that our twins true identity was deleted from Irminsul along with the forbidden knowledge. Nahida couldn't find anything about the traveler on Irminsul because we are not from Teyvat. So is the forbidden knowledge. Maybe our existence (and our sibling's existence) is directly tied to forbidden knowledge. As we have slept 500 years there is no record of us on the tree. Our twin however somehow ended up in Kaenriah 500 years ago, witnessed Kaenriah's fall and traveled the 7 nations. That's not necessarily forbidden knowledge hence why Nahida could find information on that. Nahida didn't mention anything about our sibling's real parents of how they grew up although this should have been recorded by the Irminsul as well. She only said that Irminsul marked them as a person of Kaenriah. Nahida adds that the record of our sibling gets corrupted shortly before they inished their journey through Teyvat. Maybe that's when their true origin (and thus forbidden knowledge) came into play again. And since all forbidden knowledge had to be purged from the tree to safe it, now it looks like we are not related. Also, our sibling seems to be convinced that once we reach the end of our journey, we will come to understand their actions. So something very important, assumingly even beyond the destruction of Kaenriah, must have happened to them there.

The Sumeru Archon quest, 3.2, hinted us with, I think, 7 interesting points. 1. Now that we know that Paimon was affected by erasing her memory of the Greater Lord Rukkhadevata's existence, it can be inferred that Paimon is from Teyvat, she can't be a Descender since her memory is also connected to the Irminsul. 2. Next point is that, it appears that Lumine has fortified her connection with the Irminsul that she was not named as a "Descender". It means that she might have used something to conceal her real identity. Perhaps, an Abyss magic that can conceal her nature? 3. Then there is that Celestia, which was assumed (by Buer) as the first of the Descenders. The Heavenly Principles were silent after the calamity from Khaenriah finished. Why? We still don't know. But Buer hinted that the bluff of destroying one of the Gnoses (plural of Gnosis) can awaken them. a. We were told by their dialogues that the Heavenly Principles refer to Celestia. And that the Sustainer of the Heavenly Principles are not yet discussed in ANY LORES whatsoever. So we cannot conclude that the Heavenly Principles refer to the Unknown God. b. We still don't know how many Gods there are, considering the Moon Sisters, the Gods from what Enkanomiya mentioned. 4. The Fatui have gathered info about the Fake Sky and those who have descended from the different world. This alone cannot guarantee that what they assumed that there are 4 Descenders are real. But if what the Doctor said to Nahida was indeed real, then it really must be hinted that Celestia, Khaenriah and even some of the Archons know of this. 5. Focalors, the Adjudicator of Gods. We still don't know what kind of a Goddess she is, but from Buer's description of her, she is an eccentric one. Her unwillingness to judge mortal is indeed "fair" since she herself is not a mortal and cannot accord with the mortal's principles. It can also be inferred that she is a very loyal God to Celestia. I think she is hard to handle, since she is a bit of a conservative. She might also judge Buer for her lack of knowledge in real "punishment", judge Morax for his twisted idea of "retirement", judge Barbatos for his laziness, judge Beelzebub for her tyrant governance (before). 6. The Tsaritsa knows more than we thought. It is unknown whether she once was the "Eris" of Celestia. 7. Rukkhadevata was not mentioned except in Venerer's Determination. (She is referred as the God of Woods). This can only mean that, there is still something left in there that can be inferred as "not connected to Teyvat directly". It appears that there are more Travelers from outside Teyvat as what the Fatui had surmised.

Lumine sacrificed her identity as outlander and merged with the abyss to save both twins from the unknown god. Doing so she became one with irminsul's roots (part of teyvat), gained the power of darkness, her sword is tainted purple/black, this action may even have stripped Aether from it's power, but kept him free and pure. This way he can still use light element in the end, and free both twins from teyvat and lumine from darkness. Aether also remains pure enough to cure corruption inside teyvat, dvalin tear goes red to blue, teleporters and so on. Unknow god's powers are red and need a good purification, maybe in 3/4 years with all elements and our sword back. Ty for reading Have fun in genshin!

Maybe Lumine manually input info on her journey in Teyvat to Irminsul? Then the reason there is no info past a certain point is because she hasn’t updated that info and she isn’t part of the world, so Irminsul can’t record any new info on her without a “manual override.” This would explain the Fatui thinking that she is not a descender because descenders can’t be recorded by Irminsul. But in reality she is hiding her status as a descender. Plus she could essentially lie to Irminsul and make it and anyone who believed it to be an infallible source of information believe anything she wanted them to about her.

Is it possible that the sibling died in the Khaenri'ah but beforehand she build a reputation of herself so the Fatui made cloning for manipulating people to join their "group" so they can succeed in their mischief? That will explain how the sibling have her/his memories and why Nahida said that the twin is not a descender. It's a wild theory but not impossible knowing that the Doctor cloned himself before, so it's something possible for the world of Teyvat. Not to mention that Khaenri'ah was way more advanced than the current state of the world. Also we don't have much details but it's definitely a possibility, even if it's a slim one.

Also, I suppose that when one of the 2 siblings reach the end of the journey, they face the Goddess of Corruption and the whole story starts again, with the sibling's role switched and their nature also rewritten for convenience. Probably there has been alrdy at least 1 restart, since the Aranara remember the other sibling.
