IThis is one those theories that don't necessarily have a lot of objective backing, but rather come from observations. Unlike my other theories that have substantial evidence, this one is just...a hunch.... given it was always curious WHY Celestia decided to keep Khaenriah alive. Why was the punishment so cruel? They have the power to erase a civilization from the map, they also have the MOTIVE to do so. So why didn't they? Why risk keeping them alive?

There will be a semi Part 2 to this. I'll be presenting the opposite side of this theory and disprove this video. That Celestia had NO INTENTION of saving the Khaenriahns and even jeopardized the rest of the world by keeping the corruption alive by preserving the Khaenriahns.

I think the curse of immortality serves as a prevention of forbidden knowledge getting into lay lines. When humans die, their memories go into ley lines. In order to not let the corrupting knowledge into ley lines, everyone who knows it gets cursed with immortality, until erosion removes the knowledge from their minds and then they can finally safely enter lay lines.

My theory after playing through first acts of sumeru is that Celestia cursed Khaenriahns with eternal life so that they could not return to the Irminsul and be reborn. Why? Because they were tainted by the abyssal corruption. But from the Aranara chain quest we learn that Irminsul was tainted anyway. There is a memory o 'marana'/abyssal corruption within it which will keep resurfacing.

There's some hints about Celestia in Cyno's polearm lore. Celestia doesn't outright kill all the Khaenri'ahns because they're technically benevolent: the Nails are sent to prevent the Abyss from gaining footholds in Teyvat since they have Abyss repelling properties. Khaenri'ah only managed to provoke such an extreme response because somehow Gold managed to reach an unprecedented level of corruption never before seen and nearly engulfed all of Teyvat when previous Abyss incursions were localized (as seen in Dragonspine, Tsurumi, and the Sumeru Desert). Turning into beasts seems to actually be a form of corruption from contact with the Abyss and is misblamed as a curse from Celestia. We get hints of it from the story of Takamine the Mistsplitter, and one of the Schwanenritters coming back as a Shadowy Husk after getting overwhelmed by the Abyss.

I like the concept that immortality has this problem in genshin. I have toyed with ideas like this in personal books. There’s no way a human mind could continue storing knowledge indefinitely. If you were immortal to the point that even your physical body didn’t age or weaken your mind would still “run out of memory” eventually. And start dumping old files.

Maybe so, but as of right now we have no idea what the limit to memory in a human brain is. And that's not even considering the fact that in many fictional universes, like Genshin, there's often a metaphysical aspect to souls or spirits or whatever, and those may be able to store memories as well. IDK, I'm just throwing an idea out.
@bcfb21
@bcfb21 Жыл бұрын
@@chickensky1121 I mean. It’s pretty heavily implied that zhongli is reaching his limit or that he is the odd one out and remembers way too much for his own good. He is the oldest archon I think and all of the individuals that fought with him from the beginning are starting to forget things. All of xiao’s siblings have lost themselves to erosion, azhdaha has pretty much lost his identity, and zhongli himself appears to be deeply concerned that he will soon start to lose his own memories. I feel it’s also somewhat likely that albedo fears the same thing with his concerns of becoming a monster but that could be something else entirely. IMO this corrosion, erosion, or whatever you want to call it is going to be the central problem that is revealed to be the problem behind everything. Maybe our sibling has even started to fear it or maybe they fear it will begin and they think the abyss can help stave it off. Maybe the greater lord did her reset not just so she could stop the ancient knowledge and stuff from escaping but also to sort of restore herself to factory settings for lack of a better term. Venti takes long periods off where he hibernates and therefore doesn’t make new memories which could be another reason he looks so much younger than zhongli even though I feel like he and the tsaritsa shouldn’t be that much younger than zhongli. Ei has entirely abandoned her physical body and now exists in something akin to the cloud. Maybe it’s a crackpot theory. But it’s one I’m gonna go with. To me it makes too much sense. Zhongli looks older than venti because venti intentionally only stays awake for important things while zhongli watches everything. The abyss sibling is worried about forgetting their sibling so they joined a faction that claims they can stop it. Albedo fears that he will also lose control due to memory loss and turn into a monster. Ei backed herself up onto the cloud abandoning her physical body’s limitations so she no longer needs to worry about erosion. And the dendro archon was perhaps suffering from premature erosion due to her being the god of wisdom and therefore using all her brain’s memory up so she reset herself to factory settings by unleashing her power and reverting to a child. I actually think if this is true the only people immune to the erosion are maybe the two siblings since we don’t know what they are. They might have been born with minds capable of remembering thousands and thousands of years passing. But I assume whatever race they are from they are still young in comparison to that race so that’s maybe how the abyss sibling was manipulated into believing they were now “infected” with erosion.

I was just watching a video by Ashikai and how memories would eventually lead back to the Irmunsul and how Teyvat is run by memories, leylines and elemental energies. Someone in the comments said that by not killing Khaenri’ahn, they would eventually erode. This would end their “life cycle” in the world. Their immortality was to end their existent by slowly removing them from memories.

Well, death works differently in Genshin. We know that dying in Teyvat leads to absorption by the Leylines. If Khaenriahns were corrupted, dying could pollute the Leylines. This could be why Celestia sought to avoid their outright death, and chose to deal with them another way.

The tree was simbolic to life in Teyvat this where there is life there is death too. Its possible that the tree gives life but also took in death along the the way because there is no such info that states that Irminsul can ONLY give life. I'm guessing that the Memories that ends up returning to it were the source of corruption because it was never stated what type memories that the tree took and what is the implication. When you give away a coin you left with one empty space in your pocket that needed to be filled with something. If what the tree does is just giving away life and taking in death at some point it will become the death itself. This is what the lore in game seems to point out although not confirmed its still very possible.

While it is possible that celestia purposely leave the khaenriahns because they will corrupt the tree upon dying in normal ways I think it's very unlikely due to that reason. Hilichurlians we around way before the our traveller story starts. And Teyvatians are constancy killing them so if the cellestians really don't want them to die normally they would do something about it. But no we can kill them and thus let the leylines absorb them. Its is very possible that the Celestians cannot directly kill Teyvats lifeforms. The nuke and those stone nails is thrown just to destroy specific target or more accurate to cover it up. Most of the ancient civilization end up dying not because they are killed by celestia but their main source of sustenance / technology was affected by celestia's Deceision. They don't really care if those people live or die they just want to stop whatever they wanted to stop and done.

i really love genshin theories like this; i genuinely think the war was much more neutral/same sided than whats been told. Very similarly to Sumeru's current storyline. I dont think I dont think Khaenri'ah and Celestia were at war with each other, but at war with Gold and the corruption of the Abyss that was starting to overtake even the overworld. Personally I believe Gold/Rhinedottir slowly was corrupted by what we know as the Withering now during her advancements in alchemy. Maybe the art of Khemia is actually part of this forbidden knowledge we keep hearing about in Sumeru? It could explain why Durin was corrupted and attacked Mondstadt, and why Albedo, was seemingly her last effort of mastering Khemia as finally, a non-corrupted humanoid being that can take her place as she herself falls to the curse of the Abyss. I still believe that Dain allowed/asked Celestia to drop a sky frost nail (or an equivalent) on Khaenri'ah to slow/stop the corruption the best they could at the time. Which is why the Abyss Order and Abyss Twin call him a traitor. I know you previously said you dont watch other theory crafters videos, but Ashikai released a video called "Khaenri'ah did Nothing Wrong" and it has a very similar outlook as this video, though her take is a little different when it comes to the reasons behind the curse. If you ever have the time or even want to, its a fun watch and may even spark some ideas XD I cant wait to see the part 2 to this, Im quite curious to see this completely negligent Celestia side be told!

They couldn't kill them because the corruption wouldn't end. That corruption would have gone straight to irminsul probably killing it. Remember that corrosion from forbidden knowledge was mitigated by kusanali's sacrifice of all her powers. Also important to note that the dendro archon "died" in Khaenri'ah. Likely she did the same thing she did with the scarlet king centuries prior, used all her strength and reverted to a child. Perhaps she still tried to mitigate the corrosion, but failed because there were just too many people. Edit: Perhaps this could explain why some people still have human forms, like Dainsleif and Enjou, while others are completely brainless monsters, like the hilichurls?

We saw diluc kill an abbys mage who is surely still have forbidden knowledge when he died and forbidden knowledge surely will flow to irminsul by then. Celestia is surely not being careful and are pretty dumb if they did not think of this fact. No i don't think that the Khaenrian people are left as they were due to the fear of forbidden knowledge going to irminsul and corrupting it. I think they are not killed because celestia does not have the power to do so themselves or obstructed in some way. Here is my take to the Khaenriah destruction and what happens at the chasm. 1. Celestia nuked them to stop whatever is happening somewhere inside the kingdom that has to do with abbysal powers. The same thing that turned its people to monsters and threatened to spread to the whole world. The nuke and the curse was two different thing happening at the same time. 2. Celestia didn't kill the Khaenrians probably because they are not able to do so. Or they just wanted to stop whatever is causing the curse and be done with it, what is turning the Khaenrians might be of different origin and cannot be affected by celestial powers. That, and they (celestians) might think that those people brought the curse to themselves so they are left out to serve as example to the rest of the world on what happen if you try to do the same. 3. Khaenriah can use abbysal powers to some extent, for example as power source for their machines. We can find this reference from the core of the Giga-ruin guard in sumeru and also from the core of "The first field tiller" in stormterror lair (Dain was able to detect and extract it because they are from the same source of power). 4. Some Khaenrian mad scientist tried to further use the new abbysal technology for something else, like trying to give abbysal powers to their people or make it useable just like how vision bearers use their powers. But somehow this goes wrong and everyone was turned to monsters instead and this is spreading fast thus the need for Celestia to nuke the place. (Dain was using abbysal powers so he could be the only successful specimen) 5. Lumine called Dain a traitor, probably because they ( lumine and dain) know of what the Khaenrian scientists trying to do and what can happen to the nation because of it, they have a plan to stop it but Dain decide to give the scientists plan a try because it could be a game changer to whatever the Khaenrian is fighting at the moment. Or, dain was somehow obstructed or captured and use as experimental specimen thus the failure to stop the destruction of Kaenariah. 6. Immortality was not really a curse, but the accompanying side effect that always affected beings who has abnormally long lifespan that is making immortality feels like a curse. The erosion. 7. "When gods give curse" sentence by Dain could be a metafor. He didn't mention specifically about the Khaenrian curse when saying this word, he's probably trying to give context on how big or severe curses are. Another possibility is that the Khaenrian curse is from a god but not from the celestians but from the abbysal world. 8. The water from the inverted temple has cleansing effect meaning it has "erasing" effect, when used on Khaenrian curse they feel extreme pain probably because the curse is already part of them, the water is erasing part of them. Lumine should have instead try to remove the erosion effect from having immortality so the Khaenrians would not wither and they can try to come up with other means later. Thats said, erosion is probably tied up with immortality and removing erosion will also remove the immortality but because the Khaenrian immortality is also tied to their curse this means lumine was doing it right all along.😅

My theory after playing the sumeru archon quests: WARNING: SPOILERS FOR KING DESHRET AND THE THREE MAGI So we know that thousands of years before the cataclysm the fall of a different civilization happened, the fall of the desert. And from the archon quests we know that this happened because King Deshret brought divine, otherworldly knowledge into the desert, which was too much for a mortal to handle. Hence, the desert people began to grow hard, gray scales on their skin, causing ‘eleazar’. It could be akin to trying to turn the body into a monster, but to prevent this, the body instead paralyzes itself (however, that’s just a theory). Celestia did nothing to intervene. Then Rukkhadevata used her power to create the rainforest, and save Sumeru. My theory on what happened to Khaen’riah is that there was somehow a leak of divine knowledge in the nation, which caused the mortals to turn into monsters, as their bodies did not have the response of paralysis. Celestia knew what happened last time. They saw the disease that now tormented the people of Sumeru. This time they decided to step in. They likely sent minions to exterminate what was left of Khaen’riah to stop the creation of more monsters, however, since the people of the abyss respawn when killed, the hilichurls could not be wiped out. But remember, that’s just a theory, A GAME theory so sorry I had to do it

the thing is, sumeru might met the same fate as khaenria's. it is almost confirmed that abyssal power/corruption is a honkai disease, and that let the people it infected turned into hillichurls. the disease sumeru people were infected with is the 'first stage' of the symptoms so yeah, to prevent that Celestia might really did the right thing, it just not fair from human's pov.

The way this immortality curse works (as in replacing the being BUT being a sort of symbiosis at the same time) reminds me a lot of an entity named the Blight in another game, Ender Lilies. Even the effect of the cleansing have parallels. In that game, the Blight was meant to be an organism that would extend and improve human life, before it became corrupted by people's own minds. It would be interesting, IMO, if the curse wasn't really a curse, but it became so only because the life-prolonging attempt was seen as such by the people who received it. In a way, they would be the authors of their own destiny, and doubly so, due to being locked in anti-theist worldview (and thus still being shackled to the gods in some way, explaining the ill-consequence of what happened. There's 0 proof of it ofc, but it would play into Genshin's theme of humans taking back fate from the gods). With that said, on a side note, the Abyss creatures certainly don't look like they're in pain. I wish Hoyo actually showed their suffering with their design and behavior/voicelines.

I really liked this theory! But I have a few questions to ask: In the Bloodstained Chivalry set it states that the Bloodstained knight saw a ruined kingdom in the depths of the abyss and he had 'understood the origin of the monsters and hilichurls', him even declaring that this kingdom was dealt a severe injustice. At an end was the Bloodstained Knight's story, for he realized there was no place for him on this earth. He ventured into the fallen ancient kingdom, and died in battle in the monsters' lair. At the bottom of the world, he learned the origin of the monsters that destroyed the ancient kingdom. "The ancient kingdom was wrongfully cursed," "Turning its inhabitants into monsters." We already know that Khanri'eah is not part of Teyvat, and that it is an underground nation. So does this mean that Khanri'eah was already near or even in the Abyss itself to begin with? Considering that it had no sunlight or little of that for life to be created, the people resorted to the art of khemia to create life. Even their ruin machines are the mimicry of life forms itself. So if Khanri'eah was already near or in the Abyss, wouldn't it mean that they had been exposed to abyssal corruption already from the start? The spiral abyss description states that it was an underground city built by an ancient civilisation long gone. One structure is the Abyss Corridor that connects worlds and the Abyssal Moon Spire that leads to the unknown. Would this mean that Gold has already been exposed to the Abyss, as well as the rest of Khanrieah? Even the abyss mages and abyss herald drops are that of the leyline sprouts, branches and leaves(all dead). Would this also mean that the Irminsul Tree is in the Abyss itself, and therefore already having the seed of Abyssal Corruption within it? Also, a few things about Celestia dropping the nails. Celestia dropped the nail in Dragonspine on the irminsul frostbearing tree itself, that caused it to die, and therefore the climate changed as well from verdant to frostbitten. Only when we used durin's crystallised blood(the crimson agate), the leyline tree is revitalised. But if durin is corrupted by the Abyss itself that was even capable of placing an Archon to sleep and Dvalin being poisoned, why does it revitalise a dead tree? Compared to the sakura tree and the vanarana tree, its strange how dragonspine's tree can be revitalised through the blood of a being corrupted by abyssal and alien blood made from Gold herself. Even then, the people of Dragonspine felt bitter against Celestia for dropping the nail on Sal Vindagnyr itself. But overall, this is just my brainrot, and I really loved your theory Aster! Great analysis!

This is interesting, but I'm pretty sure the war wasn't against Khaenri'ah but to save Khaenri'ah. I don't think the curse was punishment but more like a disease that resulted from their use of chaos energy (eg: the chaos cores that make all the ruin devices). "Forbidden knowledge" seems a bit like climate change: technology that causes self-harm if not regulated properly. I think Khaenri'ah caused a kind of ley-line environmental/elemental catastrophe. The curse of immortality wasn't "placed upon them", it seems to be a disease caused by exposure to the corruption of Irminsul. The Khaenri'ahan disease is almost parallel to Elisar's, which is caused by King Deshrit's technology. But his tech isn't based on chaos energy, it's based on primal energy (from the primal prisms etc). So instead of creating rifts to the abyss, it creates withering, sandstorms, earthquakes and Elisars, depending on what it impacts. So I think Celestia probably tried to stop this, and save Khaenri'ah, not punish them. But I think celestia failed to help and was ultimately destroyed. Anyway, it's just a different line of thought.

hoyoverse has delved with this problem of memory and immortality in honkai as well! hua, as an immortal, had to store away her memories somewhere safe as to not overload her mind of 50,000 years worth of knowledge and memories. her "mutation" made her immortal AND not forget a single memory in her life which led to her experiencing crippling pain. this theory, alongside how hoyo established their world building with immortals, is really great. overall, great video!

my take on this theory: Abyssal monsters were the real reason Celestia and the archons destroyed Khaenriah. Rhine's monsters not only harmed Teyvat, but Khaenriah too. In fact, the two ruin golems in Sumeru have in game notes scattered about stating that they were invented to specifically combat Withering and the Abyssal tide. The Khaenrians at first tried to hold off the monsters and corruption with their own tech, but clearly that didn't work since Durin and the rifthounds escaped, and the moment they reached Teyvat, the archons were sent in to deal with it. Ashikai suggested that Abyss corruption was what really transformed Khaenrians into monsters too, although this is refuatble since Dainsleif says that gods cursed him. In any case, the existence of those ruin golems mean that at least some people in Khaenriah tried to control the Abyssal tide by themselves

i have an inkling that Gold isn't evil. this is because in Durin's thoughts, he was sent by Gold to show his beauty to the world. maybe Gold had discovered the truth about souls, memories, and ley lines and how they connect together in the process of life and death. she was trying to create beings and had even successfully made a homunculus Albedo, but what i'm particularly curious about is if Albedo has a soul. there's also something about the artifact that she was searching for. "The Heart of Naberius" In mythologies, body parts especially the heart, are commonly used for bringing back something or someone to life. so what if ... Gold was creating a perfect vessel to hold ... something? maybe the soul of something powerful ... a revered being ... The Primordial One?

I'm lost I don't understand anymore Archon war in teyvat was 500 years ago, at the same time abyssal monsters attacked them In khaenriah 500 years ago people were cursed because they have forbidden knowledge, they came to teyvat with their huge ruin guards but they were already cursed and the abyss followed them to teyvat? Is that right? Is it possible they came asking for help from teyvat? I don't understand why khaenriah and teyvat never interacted before? If they both existed at same time Also in the red huge ruin there is a note talking about illness, people of khaenriah didn't see it as curse at first Now in sumeru there is eleazar because of forbidden knowledge, that's oddly similar

I love how Genshin's lore is so deep and fascinating that you can make two theories, one that Celestia is a more benevolent and kind, and the other is that they are a monster who constantly genocides the world, and both can make sense and work into the story despite being years into the story. Much like real history, we can barely tell what happens thousands of years ago. I can't wait to see how the story unfolds. Edit: Hold on, is it possible that the travelers were also cursed in some way? We see traveler affected by energy similar to this vs Scaramouch, albeit to a much lower degree. I wonder if it is possible that the sustainer was sort of like an antivirus, believing that the travelers were also corrupted despite their higher level of being like albedo.
@urutheninth414
@urutheninth414 Жыл бұрын
I think it all boils down to what exactly is the 'Heavenly Principles' the Sustainer is trying to, well, to sustain. To sustain the purity of the leylines and the Irminsul system? To sustain the laws brought forth by the Primordial One or the Second Who Came? What is the directive the Sustainer is following. If all must return to the leylines, then the corruption, abyssal or extraterrestrial of the creations of Rhinedottir must never enter the system itself. And if that return meant death, they must never die. That also meant that Teyvat in general had been flirting with this Abyssal power ever since the first appearance of the Hillichurls. The Khaenri'ahn Hillichurls are just the latest of those attempts. And it then appears that Celestia is using two methods to straighten up the mortal world, the Nail and the Curse of Immortality. I feel that the Nails are the answer of Celestia against the 'arrogation of mankind', and the curse of immortality for 'using the power from beyond'. There was this line from long time ago, an early translation of one of the Traveler's description succinctly stated that "The Sustainer is dying, and the Creator has yet to return...". The Sustainer dying really left a mark in my mind. Dying from what? From the Before Sun and Moon we can now identify that the Creator was the Primordial One, but what about the Sustainer? Dying from fighting the Abyssal spawn of Rhinedottir?
@notmaylea
@notmaylea Жыл бұрын
in the english version, it says "the keeper is fading away" there is quite a difference in dying and fading. i wonder what happened to the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles? at first I actually suspected that this keeper is Dainsleif (title: Bough Keeper) but then if it's in the other translations that it must be the SoHP.
@notmaylea
@notmaylea Жыл бұрын
and the line "the Creator has yet to return" makes me think of the idea that Gold really is trying to resurrect the Primordial One. I mean she's creating various beings, maybe she's looking for the perfect vessel to hold the Primordial One's powers or soul. And she's also looking for "The Heart of Naberius" and in mythologies body parts are used commonly for resurrections 🥹

@@notmaylea Yes, I'm quite certain that it's the Sustainer they meant there. I also read in Japanese and the word they use there 'chouteisha, lit. mediator/keeper' is the same with her Japanese title 'Tenri no Chouteisha lit. heavenly law's mediator/keeper'. Though I agree with the dying part a bit iffy. Someone from the lore subreddit two years ago crossed reference other languages and it was unclear too . Quite a fun fact, Dainsleif's Japanese title roughly translates to 'Intersection of the past and the future'. Bit different from the Bough Keeper, tho considering the identity of the 'Bough' it do makes sense.

The main problem I see with this theory is focusing way too hard on the idea Khaenri'ah were the aggressors and it was all their fault. But we know that can't be true. Dainsleif himself implied there is a third force in this story as he implied Khaenri'ah was involved in a constant war with the description of the field tillers. "The land is not to be tilled with farming tools, but rather to be fought for with steel and blood." They also heavily push the idea Khaenri'ah's technology is linked either to powers outside the normal realm or possibly raw leyline energy as seen with abyss mages and heralds. It does also match the bright blue color of Dainsleif's powers. Still it could also be implying the leylines themselves are outside this realm itself which explains the need to access it with incense or technology like the akasha which only works because of the gnosis. But if they have access to it, it could also mean there's a tear in the realm or possibly the corruption of the leylines is mainly being shown in Khaenri'ah and these corrupted beasts and sludge had somehow broke through their defenses. We do know Khaenri'ah seemed to have incredible knowledge of the leylines and the archon quest has directly stated that the withering, corruption of the Sakura tree, and the dark mud are all results of the leylines being corrupted or filthy. We even hear from the aranara and the archons that the cataclysm basically involved these effects being shown everywhere with the black mud literally raining from the skies. It also fits the idea Dainsleif and the abyss claim the gods destroyed Khaenri'ah. We have seen the celestial pillars seem to be drop as some form of last ditch effort for problems for Celestia, it could be that they literally stopped the hordes from escaping from Khaenri'ah but as a result utterly obliterated their nation. Celestia likely had rather little care at the time and more just wanted to end things. The curse is the one thing that's rather questionable though. Dainsleif claims the gods cursed them, but our twin says the abyss cursed Dainsleif for failing to protect them. I'm under the impression it's likely an effect similar to how destroying the tree of dragonspine caused a perpetual winter as the leylines are thrown out of wack in the area. It could just be similar for the people of Khaenri'ah and was again more a side effect of what had to be done. It also should be noted that Ei talks about fighting in the war, but she doesn't mention fighting machines or mages, she talks about fighting corrupt beasts and black creatures. That's a rather odd obfuscation if the battle really was Khaenri'ah vs the gods. The best we can say is that Gold made Durin the evil dragon and the Rift hounds, but there are weapon descriptions quoted from Durin that don't remotely sound evil, more it seems he was also corrupted in whatever was happening in Khaenri'ah. The Rift hounds are yet to be fully fleshed out, but we can tell they were a major force in the cataclysm. We can also see they seem to have other worldly powers of some kind as they travel in portals, have corrosive effects, and are said to literally rip holes in reality. Beyond the claim Gold made them we really don't know much about them so again, it can't really be all blamed on them.

i have a theoretical timeline of events based on what i know so far about it (also sorry for miss spelling Khaenriah like a billion times) so in Kanrei ah, the sages/alchemist's experiments get out of hand (maybe messing with the abyss, mixing kemia and abyssal energy kinda thing) and celesia goes out to stop them some way (like a this is getting out of hand so we are stating an intervention, stop now or suffer our wrath kinda thing) and the sages are like nah and in like a moment of spite or a mistake the sages unleash the abyss in a way no one has ever seen, which causes an explosion of abyssal energy and creating the catyclism, the people and leadership of kanriah initialize their tech to help the surface world defend themselves knowing full well that the abyss has consumed all that is left of Kanrehia. but people are starting to be corrupted by the curse (which seems to be like an actual get fucked curse and not some holy shit we cant die withers away curse caused by something i am still curious about that cause it effected kanrians even outside of kanria itself perhps some sort of forbiden knowledge insident like sumaru?) celesia then goes nuke mode summons all the archons to help close the rift that allowed the abyss to break out in the first place, but in the end Makoto dies in the battle and Nahida sacrifies herself to heal the irminsol tree, and prevent the withering from getting too bad. secondary theory: the abyss sibling was also still going around teyvat during the catyclism so that means they didnt leave till after or right before the battle of the archons, perhaps them fleeing from kanriah triggered a fail safe of celesia that sent out a guardian of the heavely princeipals (their big guns) causing them to get captured. the abyss sibling got released relitivly quickly cause people knew who they were so they could vouche for them but the sibling was asleep the whole time, although the abyss sibling talked about the sibling alot no one could vouch for them so celesita had no way of knowing if the sibling was a product of the abyss, and as such celestia held the traveler "in custidy" and released them when things settled down with no memories to give them a fresh start, but the abyss sibling is in a rage of all the bs around them, they didnt cause the abyss to come out, celestia stopped them from leaving with their sibling, celestia is literally keeping their sibling away from them, so that anger festered and eventually the abyss started manipulating that anger to their advantage (like a davalin sinario) and thats why the abyss sibling works for the abyss but helps the aranara during the catyclim. could have missed stuff tho its a fun theory none the less

It seems Tehvat is seriously lacking in a effective purification process. If the corruption that plagued Khaenriah had entered the leylines the entire world would have fell to corruption. So YES, quarantine via immortality. There's just one flaw here that I can think of. While yes putting someone in to stasis until they can be cured would be one approach there is, by far, a much more effective approach they could have used. I'm simply applying the concept of time manipulation we've seen employed a number of times already however it's not yet been applied specifically in the way I'm suggesting. That is by use of a massive time reversal. By reversing the flow of time the corruption could have been greatly diminished and possibly removed entirely. I'm guessing this must not have been an option for the God of Time however I can't understand why. Possibly this particular method of time manipulation is not possible in the world of Genshin, however I find it strange since if it were a real simulation then a factory reset or some manipulation of the sort should not be beyond the prowess of Celestia.

There is an issue to this however. We do not know exactly when this memory entered the world tree. Some say rukhadevata, but I say it's been there for a very long time, probably in the kingdom of deshret, people must have died so some memories must have entered the tree. If the entire world tree is reversed, what would be the effects of it on teyvat itself? We do not know when the irminsul was made, did it exist in the time of the dragons? Was it there even before that? Perhaps reversing may have resulted in the fading of what is currently. Basically reversing may mean reversing time entirely for the entirety of teyvat. Shadow, human and light realm have existed simultaneously, but barriers existed to prevent a leak

I personally believe that celestia wasn’t responsible for the curse, it was a result of the irminsul tree in Khanri’ah being corrupted by gold, either accidentally or on purpose, her title is “the Great Sinner” and just making abyssal monsters doesn’t seem like a “Great Sin” her sin is not just simply making monsters, but dooming an entire country and its people to turn into monsters.
@Vonmoonlight
@Vonmoonlight Жыл бұрын
I had a thought to this regarding 3.2 Archon end What if Lumine was a created Homunculus or that Khaenri'ah somehow managed to pull the twins into this world, and because that is forbidden knowledge, Sustainer had to throw your sibling into Irminsul to register as a Teyvat citizen, and the traveller had to be sealed off esp his memories, but cux the curse already took effect and could lead to irreversible effects like the dark energy that spreads like Irminsul's disease and curse, they had to eliminate them completely, in a sense like quarantine, but SCP, to eliminate all the virus and curses In that sense it would make sense that the siblings did travel together, and that Lumine has her memories but kept as a Teyvat citizen, while Aether doesn't rmb everything, this way the "proof" that forbidden knowledge still exist in Teyvat is under wraps, temporarily. If we take Aether abilities of the 7 are basically like how Archons are but mini versions, then we can also safely assume the situations reflect the twins situation all the same but we are but a smaller role or mini versions of the situation. In Rukkhadevata and Kusanali case, the curse was mainly removed but the splinter remains, and the actions taken were nth but temporarily, at the end, the consequences caught up and have to be removed at its core, at the end, it's to remove the roots. Familiar? That's basically Aether and Lumine case, both done using different method to stop the curse of the forbidden knowledge And in terms of descender, probably 5, cuz Twins are 4 and 5, but yet you the MC are the 4th so naturally the 2nd MC aka the sibling would be the 5th But as we seen with Rukkha, everyone memories are wiped, if not edited, even books or lore containing info on Rukkha were either redacted or changed as well So we can also take it that Lumine was the 5th but Cuz of Sustainer actions, she was made as a descender, so all info pertaining to Lumine was changed completely if not wiped All archons reflect the twins situation Venti case reflects being carried along the wind, carried along by the waves of the situation Zhongli case reflects you are nth but a role, a small role in the entire situation, forced to play out Raiden case reflects overwhelming odds when you find yourself at the point where its feels almost pointless, only when everyone works together, is there actually a small glimmer of hope Nahida case reflects what it seems may not what it seems, and vice versa, that everything you know can be doubted, and that everything has multiple layers of complexity and the whole loop is like the quote that history always repeats itself as with the case of the throne or forbidden knowledge If that were the case, then we will only get the whole picture of the situation at hand once we understood all the Archons situations that will all ultimately reflect back to the Twins

So something I like to consider is that spiritual side of Genshin that has been shown to very much be true. Ghosts and Karma especially. What if the reason they didn't kill the entire population of Kanrea in one go was because too much negative Karma would be unleashed. Maybe their experimentations and developments created too much of it. So instead of unleashing all of it at once they released it step by step, with each time a Hilichurl returns too goop being the Karma being released and letting the natural flow of energy deal with it. It makes sense to me because the time where we see the "death" of Hilichurls is in Liyue. The land most closely associated with spiritually and the karmic circle.

Aether can lift the curse but he's not doing anything about it lol. He purified Dvalin's tear which is the "forbidden knowledge" I believe. Not sure why he's holding back on the purification.

So basically. Traveler will go into abyss world and destroy the poisonous thing corrupting it. Seems like every mmo has a story like that. Also destroying celestia unknown God (most likely an AI) and placing paimon as ruler will fix a lot of stuff using the fate mechanic

Um... Khaenri'ans (sorry if I butchered it) are not actually immortal... They have a lifespan of at least 500 years. If you think about it, aren't those "creatures" we kill, sort of like undead? Burned by the holy light? Getting cleansed would mean death? Dark energy emenating from their bodies when they are close to death... We haven't seen any skeleton type monster yet, except for the dragon (as far as I know). Maybe this is replacement for those? Unless you count the knights in the chasm, which are from Khaenri'ah...

I'm confused, doesn't this theory hinge on that cleansing pool being from Celestia somehow? Like, that they put it there with the intent of it being used to undo their curse and that's why you're saying that it not being meant to kill is a sign that the immortality was on purpose? But nothing about it indicates that, isn't it more likely that that pool was 100% Khaenri'ahn make, maybe even to do with what they were being punished for? It IS in the Chasm after all

Hey, Aster, I have a question: What or who is Rubedo? there were three stages on the Tabula Smaragdina, so if Albedo is, well, Albedo, and Durin is Nigredo, who's Rubedo?

NGL, I saw Tabula Smaragdina and the only place I know that from is Overlord so I went "Woah". Honestly, probably whatever Albedo's trying to do OR what Rhine's trying to do with the Heart of Naberius. She's mostly trying to make something new.

I don't see the point of the abyss and celestia vying for influence over the human realm unless something about humans is something of a resource for them. maybe they both gain power from taking human ambition/dreams

I think the reason they didn't kill him is because he wasn't the first nation to fall to forbidden knowledge, they just killed him without giving an explanation, erasing them from the map and history, but al-ahman was different, apparently the archon dendro managed to stop him and many were saved it is possible that after that there were no more nations at least within teyvat(khaenri'ah is outside) that had this so i tried to use this method but failed. Celestia does not have a method to reverse the curse, or she was lost who knows if in the future we will find the method but what consequences will using them have, it is possible that she will free him but at the cost of her dying later.
