i think the main theme here is the bittersweet parasocial relationships between idols and fans which alludes heavily in the storyline whilst still creating a separate plot within the music video that deals with the coming of age of every fan's life. great observation on her cast and not being able to paint her right hand with it. my guess is that the storyline for this mv is that they were actually friends but managed to get into some sort of vehicular incident (hence why there are some shots of them riding bicycles.) it could be the accident was quite recent hence why she's dissociating and reminiscing old memories that are actually happening in real life. her classmates just don't bother her because mental health was a taboo topic in the period the mv was set in and she also seems to be quite well-known especially being associated a group that mirrors idol members of the time. she eventually moves on with her life and focuses on the present but her memories with her friends live on in her memories when she decides to acknowledge her trauma and face it instead of repressing it all those years. concepts like this are min heejin's forte and i love how the director further brings it to life.

I keep seeing everyone talking about the girls dying in a car accident being ghosts but I just really don't see new jeans being the kind of group that is going to do that kind of overdone ghosts storyline. I just feels very 3rd gen. And they seem to be trying to do something less artificial and more natural with this generation. That's why I see this as a story about a lonely awkward student feels closer to her favorite idols than to her classmates but she eventually puts the fantasy away and finds a real relationship. The whole story is told from the perspective of the student looking back on that time of her life when she's older.

apparently meeting a deer is a sign to ground yourself in the present instead of being tied to the past or future? also just a very beautiful image in these mvs i love how they included it i've been seeing two main interpretations about the storyline: 1- representing parasocial relationship, she uses being a fan of newjeans (or they're just 5 cool girls she wishes she was friends with, so imagines that they are?) to help her get through difficult times like breaking her arm, no one else sees them though so they think she's weird. she meets the deer, starts focusing on the present and gets with that guy she likes, grows out of newjeans, but comes back as an adult and watches their old mv with nostalgic feeling, like thanking them for helping her 2- 6 friends were in some kind of accident, heesoo was the only survivor, hence the cast on her arm, newjeans represent the others who died, so she still sees them because she misses them, tries to pretend like they are still with her, but of course no one else can see them so they get confused, maybe the deer could be a more literal "their car crashed bc of a deer" or something, she comes to terms with present reality, moves on with her life. later comes back as an adult and watches the memories they made also fun fact heesoo the girl behind the camera is played by one of the main characters from all of us are dead

As two interpretations, the first interpretation is that everyone died in an accident, and only Hee-su survived. The cast on his arm was from an accident. Memories before death in a, New Jeans in b seem to be ghosts. In the second interpretation, Hee-soo is a fan of New Jeans to the extent that everyone else sees her as strange. But he loves a man. In a, the heart is shaken between the beloved New Jeans and the falling in love Hannam. In b, Hee-su surrounded by New Jeans finally gets away from New Jeans. And he loves and meets men. However, my love for New Jeans remains deep in my memories. It seems to be a fan song music video that stands out with a shocking twist and two interpretations.

La canción está linda, es de su próximo álbum titulado “OMG” a lanzarse el 2 de enero. Hybe ha lanzado 2 versiones, 2 mv’s, lado A y lado B, de “Ditto” y están causando gran sensación e intriga por su extraña conexión sobrenatural o fantasmal entre el presente y el pasado, ‘Ditto’ ascendió al puesto número 1 en la lista iTunes Top Songs

This mv has a storyline which is that the sixth girl is a close friends of (newjeans) but all five of her friends have an accident and she (heesoo) is the only survivor...Heesoo is just hallucinating in this mv.. This song make me sad😭..

Heres my theory that there was a huge accident the tragic deaths (mostly young) of 156 people caught in an Itaewon crowd which happened on Halloween day. A girl holding a camera would be an only survivor from that accident lost all of her besties and she cannot get out of the shock so strongly hold a delusion making up her friends still alive which is not true fact. Remembering those days warm gatherings with friends and cannot believe in a fact that they are all gone. at the very last scene, seems the camera girl gets little older turns on the VHS again, shows that NewJeans members are not illusion. And seems the camera girl overcome the accidental memory but her friends still remains as a warm and bright memory. I think the purpose of this MV could be mourning the Itaewon tragedy. Just my guess.

@MAKU🐰 when was this? or maybe a month or so after their debut? hanni's hair is shorter so i think they filmed this prior to getting their hair colored for omg. in the bts for hypeboy and attention, her hair was longer.
