I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion or not but I really like the captain underpants show. It’s genuinely funny and the replacement VAs were also pretty good. I liked the child voices for George and Harold. As a kid, this and the Madagascar penguins show were the only good ones.

The Penguins of Madagascar TV Show and Kung Fu Panda Legends of Awesomeness honestly deserve some more praise. Though I watched them when I was a kid and I never really cared that the voice of Po wasn't Jack Black. In fact, I thought it was Jack Black until looking back at it. plus, they at least were entertaining enough to last a few seasons. As for the others.... never knew they existed....

Not all DreamWorks Shows are AWFUL. There's some shows that I like that I like. There's Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness and The Dragon Knight, Dragons: Riders of Berk, Turbo F.A.S.T. Dawn of the Croods, The Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show, and Home: Adventures with Tip and Oh. They're pretty GOOD shows.

One of my favorite things about Legends of Awesomeness is that one of the reoccurring villains is a warthog named Taotie who voiced by Wallace Shawn the voice of Rex from the Toy Story a Pixar character voicing a DreamWorks villain there was even an episode where Po accidentally erases the Furious Five memories so Taotie tricks into attacking Po and Shifu while giving them all silly new animal names.

In my opinion, it works to some extent Basically, the show is rewritten as if it never happens BUT Puss still gets to keep his memories of the show. I therefore think that the show had an impact as Puss has changed as a character. He developed over the course of the show and feels like a different cat by the end when compared to the start. It’s till not a great ending though I hate to be THAT guy but I have actually done a full retrospective on this show if anyone is interested

So the how to train your dragon show is actually canon, sure the movies don’t mention it but there is nothing in the show that retcons anything, and they even explain stuff the movies never mention, like how hiccup made his fire sword and the wing suit, how stoick and Gober got there dragons, hiccup and Astrid’s relationship growing. Also Dragons riders/defenders of Berk and RTTE are all connected.

I didn’t mind The Adventures of Puss in Boots TBH Season 3 is awful but the rest is pretty enjoyable (when it wants to be). As much as I love She-Ra and it's my personal favorite, it's insane that Tales of Arcadia, a franchise that consists of 3 tv shows and a movie, created by respected and award winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro -that's RIGHT there on Netflix- isn't discussed about enough. I didn't finish the whole thing since I lost interest, but the first show was perfect. It didn't get enough attention and I blame Voltron for this since it came out a few months earlier.

Since Chilly didn't speak of it (At-least I think) in this vid, Ima go ahead and talk about Dawn Of The Croods, except a-lot less. Dawn of the Croods is actually a pretty decent show. Only complaint is it kinda overstays it's welcome. It's humor lands sometimes, but most of the time it's just " Haha caveman stupid, caveman do stupid thing's come on guys this is funny this is funny right...... LAUGH- " The Animation isn't that bad, but only time I'd recommend it is if you're bored and want to watch something but nothing comes to mind. Overall, I'd give it like a- 6/10 hot pockets.

What sequel shows did disney make that were actually good follow ups and didn't shit all over the world building and character development from the preceding movies that they were supposed to be a continuation of to the point the movies no longer make sense in retrospection? Sorry if this sounds mean spirited but I'm genuinely curious what you mean because all the modern sequel/spin off shows I've watched from them felt like they were crafted for a quick buck by people who couldn't care less about the stories they were supposedly following up on so even if I would have liked some of the shows well enough if they were about an original ip instead they still left a really sour taste in my mouth just because of how much of bad sequels they could be at times, completely ignoring or even straight up retconnig events from the previous films for a silly single episode shtick. The dreamworks shows sure aren't perfect but at least some of them had at least a small amount of soul 🤷

Thank you for appreciating how awesome All Hail King Julien is!! All Hail King Julien and The Penguins of Madagascar are my favorite shows from Dreamworks AND they are two of my favorite shows of ALL time. I actually love those two shows a lot more than the movies. Don't get me wrong, I love the three Madagascar films and I especially love the Penguins of Madagascar movie, but I highly doubt I would love the Madagascar franchise as much as I do or consider it my favorite Dreamworks' franchise (yes, I love the Madagascar franchise more than Shrek and Kung Fu Panda) if it wasn't for those two shows. The penguins and lemurs are the best characters of the Madagascar franchise in my opinion. Alex, Gloria, Melman, and Marty are great in their own way, but they aren't as interesting as characters like Skipper or King Julien, you know what I mean? So that's part of why I prefer those two spin-off shows since they focus on my favorite characters from the franchise. In addition to All Hail King Julien being absolutely hilarious and even having some episodes that talk about social issues, the show gave King Julien a lot of character development and All Hail King Julien is when Julien is at his absolute best. You can tell that despite being a little self-centered, he would do anything for his kingdom, anything to protect his kingdom and throughout the show, we see Julien doing the best he can to be a great leader, even if he messes up a lot because, well, I mean, he 's King Julien, he's going to mess things up LOL🤣 But he always fixes his mistakes, which shows that he truly has good intentions and cares for his people. I also relate more to Julien because he's so imperfect, because he doesn't always make the best choices at first. I like seeing how he slowly learns how to be a better king throughout the series rather than being perfect at it from day one. Also, All Hail King Julien gave us Clover, who is such an amazing character. I love how brave and confident she is. And then there's Mort - All Hail King Julien was when we learned who Mort truly is and uh, it's kind of surprising what the show does with Mort to say the least. Just watch the show if you want to know what I'm talking about😆 I also appreciate that the episodes are 22 minutes long instead of 11 minutes, since it gives each storyline enough time to be properly developed. And the show gave us Karl, who is one of my favorite villains ever. There's also so many memorable side characters like Ted, Pancho, Timo, Xixi, Tammy and Butterfish, etc. Finally, I'm glad the show got a proper finale that explained why Clover isn't in the movies and wrapped up Julien's story arc so well. Although, I hope if there's a Madagascar 4, that both Clover and Marlene (from The Penguins of Madagascar) could be in the movie somehow. As for The Penguins of Madagascar, I love the show even more than All Hail King Julien (though both shows are really good). The penguins' show has some really funny moments, just like AHKJ does. The penguins have such a great friendship - I think they have a slightly better friendship than Julien and Maurice. Don't get me wrong, their friendship is great too, but the penguins just get along so well as a team and I love seeing them go on different missions around the zoo. Skipper is one of my favorite characters of all time, he's so brave and sarcastic/witty and he just has such a great personality. I wish I could be as brave as he is. The other penguins also have such great personalities - I love Kowalski's more logical way of looking at things, I love how Private is more compassionate, and I love how wild Rico can be! I wish all of the episodes would be 22 minutes long instead of 11 minutes, because sometimes right when an episode of the show gets interesting, the episode is almost over since it's only 11 minutes long and they have to rush through the storyline😭 But most of the episodes are still great despite the short run time. I think my absolute favorite thing about the penguins show is that we have the penguins and lemurs in the same show! Yes, I know Julien is not as great of a character here as he is in AHKJ, but I love how the show gave us a glimpse of what the dynamic between the penguins and lemurs would be like since they never really talked to each other in the movies. I actually think it's an unique idea to have the lemurs and penguins be frenemies/rivals kind of? Although the way they went about it wasn't the best (because they didn't have to exaggerate Julien's flaws to show why the penguins don't always get along with him), but I think it was an unique idea. I particularly love the very interesting but complicated frenemy relationship that Skipper and Julien had throughout the series. The show tried to establish how much Skipper didn't like him, but then they also had a bunch of episodes where Skipper had to admit that he actually kinda liked him too😆I honestly think they should've had a more positive relationship, their interactions were always fun to watch and if they would've written Julien's character the way they wrote him in AHKJ, then they probably would've gotten along better. There was an episode of the penguins' show where Skipper admitted that Julien was unfit to be a leader, if only he knew how great of a leader Julien was in AHKJ😢 Anyways, I hope we'll get one more opportunity to see the penguins and lemurs hang out with each other - Not only could Julien and Skipper have a better friendship, but I could see Kowalski and Maurice being friends, as well as other characters from AHKJ being friends with the penguins like Timo and Kowalski, Ted and Private, Pancho and Rico, and Clover and Skipper. I'd also love to see Kowalski being absolutely surprised by how intelligent Smart Mort is lol. We probably won't get much of a chance for the penguins and the lemurs or the penguins and other AHKJ characters to interact though since the Madagascar franchise is probably over. The only chance we have is for the penguins and lemurs to have a subplot together in Madagascar 4 (which I'd absolutely love that!) I'm probably one of the very few Madagascar fans that wants to see some sort of crossover between the penguins show and All Hail King Julien, but if they would ever announce some sort of crossover between the two shows, then I'd be SOOO happy!! But I suppose the closest thing to that we will ever have is the penguins' show. Anyways, this comment is getting too long, so the last thing I'll say is that both The Penguins of Madagascar show and All Hail King Julien are amazing and you should watch them if you haven't already😊

Finally. A video that shares most of my opinions. The only shows I’m surprised you didn’t cover in detail were Spirit: Riding Free and The Penguins of Madagascar. I haven’t seen all of those shows, such as most of each KFP series, the Trolls or Croods shows, or the Nine Realms Dragons series. My little brother has seen the Captain Underpants and Boss Baby shows, which I would glimpse by walking past the TV. I definitely agree that All Hail King Julien is the best DreamWorks show. Even more so than the penguins show which surprised me back in the day because the lemurs were one of my least favorite aspects of that show because they’d always get in the way of the penguins’ missions. I loved the Madagascar movies as a kid and still have some nostalgia for them now, mostly because the first one sparked my lifelong interest in zoology. And even though I’ve now recognized that as films, they aren’t too great, I’ve grown to believe the TV shows outdo them in many respects. Like they were both chaotic and did dumb things for humor, but the way it’s delivered makes it too hard to not give into it. I’ll probably do my own video about AHKJ or some other aspect of Madagascar at some point. As the huge Ruby Gillman defender that I am (I’m basically that commenter you showed about Captain Underpants, but for RGTK) I hope it gets a TV show and I already talked about that prospect in the first half of the follow up to my original Ruby Gillman video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIi8YWyeaLqrbbM). After making it, I got a lot of comments debating whether it should be 2D or 3D, and it’s remained a big debate in the Ruby Gillman fandom. Personally I’d be fine either way, but I could totally see them going for a 2D style similar to Trolls, Home, or Turbo; that last one being over 10 years old now and still looks good. And personally I hope Lana Condor reprises her role as Ruby. Not sure how likely that’d be for a TV show since she’s currently a rising star, but DreamWorks shows have gotten far more seasoned actors than her, and it seems like she’s passionate about the character and experience since she enjoyed DreamWorks movies growing up, so hopefully she returns. And I had gotten a comment once saying Wendy Malick (Eda from The Owl House) would be a good TV budget friendly stand in for Grandmamah instead of Jane Fonda. Not sure about the rest of the characters and their voice actors though. But I’d still like a sequel movie to RGTK.

(Spoilers): Here are some explanations on these Tv Show’s canonicity to their movies: If anyone has watched the ending to The Adventures of Puss in Boots, when Dulcinea said to Puss “Are you ready for adventure?” She didn’t mean adventure of a life time, she meant once. A few days after the show she went back to the future. Why? Well because Dulcinea was actually the only one who went back in time with her whole body so that would mean she coexisting in the new timeline with her past version. And if you know about the Space Time Continuum, well that’s what Dreamworks does (wouldn’t be the first time Dreamworks has done this clearly they did that with Mr Peabody and Sherman) For The Boss Baby: Back in Business, the reason why Boss Baby is talking again and is “back in business” is because after he went to live with his family, he had Baby Corp send him the formula for him as he realized that he could give time for both family and work. Now personally, I think this series is okay, I lol’d more at the show than the original movie but the quality in the show is questionable. It’s probably just as mid as the original movie.
