The portable forge you pointed out is not a furnace. The brick built structure in the forge (building) is known as the hearth and the actual heat source is known as the fire. What do I know ? I’m only an industry trained smith with 15+ years experience

Very interesting Jim. My Grandparents had ducks on the wall too, must have been all the rage back in the day.

I lived in Hastings in the 90`s, there was a wonderful pub with toilets like that. It was great, drunk, we would lean on those wings and natter. As for the ducks on the wall...my Grandparents had them.

As soon as i saw those toilets i thought of our lower school. The shop in middle row used to be a bakery when we were little i think and it's last use was as a pizza shop. Montana's is a coffee shop now i think.

One of the school toilet cubicles had an open loft hatch above it, no one dared use that one!
