In Venezuela there is a folktale of a dude that can rap so hard that he said he can even challenge satan. The story is called Florentino y el Diablo. In this song Canserbero killed a guy that murdered his brother and on the shootout he also got hit as he hearing the whole craziness he’s dying and he ended up going to hell where he saw all these famous people that at some point on hearth he believed they were good people Che Guevara, Gandhi, John Paul II and Obama. As he found out his faith in hell he remembers the Venezuelan folktale of Florentino y el Diablo ( florentino and the devil) So he goes and asked the devil for a rap battle. Satan accepted the challenge and replied if you lose this battle I will take your father instead. The whole time satan tells him how can you challenge me to a rap battle if I know everything you would say because I know how you lived your life and I know you don’t believe in god. Cancerbero replies to doubt and to believe are two different things I doubt that there is a god because I can’t see him but I can still believe in him. On his arm Canserbero had a tattoo that says all we need is love and thats why the devil says how can you talk about love when you rap about hate and bad things in all of your songs. I can go on and on but I believe I’m trying to translate the whole song and that will take a lot of time. Overall my brother you have heard the king of Spanish Rap. Think about Cancerbero as a mixed of J cole (as a story teller) Tupac (poetry and deep meanings) Nas, Eminem and Rakim . This guy was crazy Canserbero used to have a library in his house where he gained a lot of knowledge and cultured himself about the world and his lexicon was on point when it came to writing. This song was writted and inspired by Divine Comedy, an epic poem writted by Dante Alghieri, telling the history of him get down on hell and travel around to get back to life, because of his loved. Canserbero made this song about a lot (I mean it, A LOT) of references about religion, war, life problems, critics of him and his voice, art and the way he treated his fans, when he was alive. Yo man, thanks for taking the time to analyze this song in Spanish, it really means a lot to us, and yeah, this guy had an incredible talent and ability to create lyrics with so much content that has caused admiration throughout this continent. A real shame that he was murdered and justice has not even been done. As a curious fact, I can share with you that as incredible as it may seem though, in one of the lines of this song shortly after the beginning there are some very interesting details, which could be interpreted as a prediction of the events related to his death, such as when he says that he falls against the sidewalk and hears a woman screaming that they killed Carlos. In that same event in which Can loses his life, another man named Carlos also loses it, who had been his forever friend. The government came up with the stupid version that Can had killed Carlos and then committed suicide, but many, many so obvious details contradict this story, but hey, that's a topic for another conversation. And as you well said, you have to take a little more time to understand this song a little more. Thank you very much bro and keep it up!
