CHIMELONG OCEAN KINGDOM TOUR IN 5 HOURS Zhuhai China 4k VLOG

Join Daniel, Michael, and Kevin as they adventure to see Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Zhuhai China just across the bay from Cotai and Macau. The tour starts with a walk under the one of a kind giant lcd screen depicting marine life. Next, they hop on the very unusual Polar explorer ride which includes live bears on the ride instead of animatronics. Other highlights include the Parrot Coaster, which is the third tallest of its kind, Walrush Splash AND THE 5D CASTLE THEATER WITH THE WORLDS BIGGEST CURVED SCREEN, and worlds biggest aquariam. The evening finishes with the Journey of Light Parade and a quick tour of the nearby hotels including Chimelong Penguin and Chimelong Hengqin Bay hotels.
Chimelong Ocean Kingdom is just across the bay from Cotai and Macau. Instead of asking the Wynn Palace shuttle service to take us to the Chinese border to get to Zuhai, we should have just walked a few blocks to the Zhuhai Hengqin Port Office which is way less busier to get through the Chinese border checkpoint and much closer to the amusement park. And so we ended up way out of the way at the terrible North Gong Bei Kou An extremely congested Chinese border checkpoint and wasted 2 additional hours for this mistake.
Because of the incredibly long delay getting through the Chinese border, we finally arrived at Ocean Kingdom around 4pm. For about 55-65 dollars depending on the day of the week, you get an admission ticket into one of the most bizarre parks in the world.
Awareness of animal welfare is far from a priority in China. In the Arctic, some polar bears' home ranges can measure up to 50,000 square miles : The animals can smell a seal 50 square miles away across the ice, run at 19 miles per an hour to catch their prey and swim for hundreds of miles between ice floes. But here in Zuhai, they are here for the pleasure of the Chinese elites and oddball tourists like us who are able to afford the price of admission here. Fortunately I did not take a picture of the grilled chicken sandwich contained in its wrapper shown here. The box looks great though. The whale looks very happy to be here with me while I eat my rat… I mean chicken sandwich. It was the worst food I’ve ever eaten.

5D Castle Theater
Is the world’s largest 4d theater. It houses the largest permanent projection screen as well as a continuous stereoscopic projection with 10K horizontal pixels and 60 fps and eye across a 180º circular screen surface, for which it was awarded two Guinness World Records.

It was like being in a completely different world. At home in the U.S. we certainly don't have real live bears on rides.

I'm glad you got as much footage as you did during the short time you had in the park. I'm curious, what is the general attitude toward American tourists in Zhuhai ?

Anywhere you go in Mainland China you will get stares when you are a westerner. It kinda makes you feel like you are in a zoo sometimes when you are stared at like this but it is also kinda funny at the same time. While it didn't happen inside the theme park, you will often get asked to have pictures taken with others because they want to show their friends and family they met a westerner.

If you look close enough, you can see the whale sharks being wounded and their fins rotting away because they don't have enough space to maneuver in the tank.

9:30 I've read on wiki about polar bears being in small environment, so I wanted to check it out but here it's not clear how big this enclosure is. Other bears seem to have quite a spacey enclosures as far as zoos are concerned.

@@pku0865 from what I have seen and heard, the bears have other parts of the habitat too that are indoors and outdoors. I’m sure they have all kinds of enrichment that they provide for the bears and other animals to make their days exciting. Plus these guys will live a lot longer than their counterparts in the wild, plus I’m sure they have access to guaranteed food every day and amazing veterinary care.

I think that Australia is the only country that makes aquariums that properly take great care of ALL the animals and make sure they only have animals that should be in captivity, so that means NO whales or very large sharks.
