Injurious subsides?! What do we call, then, the massive subsidies that VW and Stellantis have received from Canada. Or the subsidies that US manufacturers receive via the "Inflation Reduction" act?

US and its vassal EU always double standard. The fact is Telsa and VW/all EU cars got huge subsidy in China as well. Go google it.

China imposes massive subsidies on its EV industry by using slave and child labour throughout that sector's supply chains and floods Europe with cheap Chinese EVs. Either you've the brain of a donkey or you're a wumao bot. I think it's the latter.

I think it is a good time for the Global South countries to work together in a free market for greater prosperity and to leave behind the US and EU with their protectionism and tariffs.

Not every country hands out "export subsidies" to undercut foreign competitors in markets abroad.

@@tooltalkCanada outcompeted US subsidization to attract multiple EV battery and vehicle manufacturers. 78% of vehicles manufactured in Canada are already exported. The number for EV components is likely to be higher because the capacity far exceeds that requires by the Canadian market. Looks exactly the same to me.

@@jptrainor Canada doesn't have any subsidies that "conditioned on" export subsidies. Not all subsidies are same, you just gotta understand what is prohibited under the WTO's SCM (subsidies and countervailing measures) agreement; see Annex 1 ILLUSTRATIVE LIST OF EXPORT SUBSIDIES: a. The provision by governments of direct subsidies to a firm or an industry contingent upon export performance. c. Internal transport and freight charges on export shipments, provided or mandated by governments, on terms more favourable than for domestic shipments. etc. etc,

@@tooltalk It's a semantic argument. No condition is necessary. There's no other reason to make such a massive investment other than to export.

That's hilarious yall think the Communists Party is actually interested in addressing EU concerns. Seriously think this through the CCP is only stalling for time in an attempt to prevent further action by the EU whilst the CCP is free to act. Make no mistake at the end of this process regardless of the the EU the CCP will not actually engage in any substantive behavioral changes. The CCP will however continue to screw the EU over in any capacity that the EU allows it to and it will attempt to use divide and conqure strategies to that end. What the EU should do instead is slap 100 percent tariffs on Chinese imports and then lower the vat tax for the next 5 years and then flood subsidies to industries that the CCP has detrimentally impacted with their own subsidies. Once you've reached reciprocity with the Chinese then you can sit down and actually have an honest conversation with the CCP because it will only be at that point that CCP can hope to gain anything from you.

To normalize relationships with the EU 🇪🇺, China needs to: - cancel the "No Limits" agreement with Russia, - stop undermining EU sanctions against Russia, - talk with Taiwan president-elect Lai Ching-te on an equal basis, - open independently a study into Wuhan pandemic, *- stop atrocity of Tibetans and Uyghurs,* - obey the Hague Tribunal 2016's decision on the SCS, - Leave European intellectual properties alone, and *- stop unfair overcapacity exports to EU.*
