China blames US for massive Hong Kong protest

Chinese state media is blaming the US for helping organize massive protests in Hong Kong. According to organizers, more than a million people took to the streets to protest a new law which could allow Hong Kongers to be extradited to China on a range of offenses. Critics say the move would make anyone in Hong Kong vulnerable to being grabbed by the Chinese authorities for political reasons or inadvertent business offenses and undermine the city's semi-autonomous legal system.
Though police put the protest size at closer to 250,000, there's little doubt that the march was among the largest since 2003, when 500,000 people protested against a sedition law -- and successfully blocked it. CNN's Matt Rivers reports.

Well its china, what do you expect,. They had years of rebellion, from the 3 kingdoms, to the Red turban rebellion, to the fall of the ming dynasty and then the communist revolution. Here's a quote from Bill Wurtz, "China's whole again... And it's broke again."

Chief Lam is likely correct that the bill is from HongKong. Beijing don't need to waste/spend so much time, money & energy to get a “bill” & expensive lawyers to remove/arrest the people they mark. They just need assassins (which is cheaper, faster & simpler, maybe even safer & cleaner). Since health & climate is also important nowadays, they may spend a bit more money to get “green-vegan” assassins.

I believe that this situation is similar to that of Colombia since the person is extradited to pay his sentence according to the rules of his country. 3. What people claim is that people pay what they do in their country of residence. 4. That the government only listens to them when there are protests due to governmental disagreements.

If you look at history, many human societies gravitated towards authoritarianism and oligarchies. Political power is held not in the hands of many, but in the hands of the few elites, like nobles (aristocracy), priests (theocracy) or kings and emperors (monarchy) or other authoritarian forms. Such political systems were popular, because they were stable and they worked! The elites were oftentimes well-educated and politically aware to make important decisions regarding the country's future, while the ignorant, uneducated masses were kept away from politics. Democracy has long history of failure. Athenian democracy failed, Spartan democracy failed, Greek democracy failed, even Republic of Rome fell. These proto-democracies did not succeed and democracy was never popular outside of Greece in the ancient times. Modern Western democracy has a history of 100-200 years so it doesn't necessarily mean it will be successful in future.

@ Rain Bruce - HK$ 600 per day just show up with complimentary mask all the way upto $15,000 per day for front line 'warrier'. The few leaders were reported in receipt of over a couple millions. They also got 'game points' - say you beat up a anti-riot person - never found out how much gamers received for different attacks.
@kaylaho
@kaylaho 4 жыл бұрын
$0. We get $0. The Chinese and Hong Kong governments always blame "other countries" (always impling the US) caused the protests but they never thought their dictatorship caused all these resistances of people. Just like North Korea always educate its people the US is the enemy. Most protestors in Hong Kong are students, well-educated people and those who had suffered under the China's dictatorship, the protestors have been ongoing for almost 7 months and millions of people joined the protests. The police united with the gangsters to beat and slash protestors and police shot people with real bullets who had no weapons and had only bare hands. Those people who against the protests always blame the US for funding us, as they were educated to hate the US and blame everything to the US, and the only thing they care is money, that is why they always said we got paid by the US. For the comment in above, HK$600 upto $15000 a day is just real gossip that anti-protest people made up or he/she is from the mainland of China. In reality, working as a waiter in any restaurants in Hong Kong for 9-10 hours can easily get HK$600 and they don’t need to take the risk in being caught/killed during the protests. For those educated, like teachers and social workers, earn over thousands dollars per day and they still risk their jobs if the join the protests, as they would be fired if they get caught in the protests.

There is no single mention in this 10 minutes report about actual facts of the bill. On Wikipedia it was listed 'one of the provisions of the bill' is " To specify that special surrender arrangements will cover 37 of the 46 items of offences based on their existing description in Schedule 1 of the FOO, and the offences are punishable with imprisonment for more than three years (later adjusted to seven years) and triable on indictment in Hong Kong. ..." I have no legal expertise, but I couldn't help but wonder, is this bill really so terrible? Or is there more to the anger than the Bill that people are upset about.

She has been invited to give speech in Oslo Freedom forum. I guess thats why she is here. As someone may not know, this protest do not have any representative or political parties to lead the protestors. It is a fully “democracy” public movement. Every steps they made are discussed within the protestors in telegram/forums. Everyone can involved and everyone can be heard. But no one should represent. “Some do things aggressively, and some are peaceful, as long as you fight for freedom, you are one of us.”

I don't think they are afraid at all. The difference between the US and China is that the US will imprison, bomb, drone bomb or kill civilians from other countries. China hasn't done that in a while, but their government has no problem doing that to its own citizens. It's just more free labor in reeducation camps for them. I do hope you are right though.
@setback4908
@setback4908 5 жыл бұрын
@Joseph Quīnque you are absolutely correct!!!! The US does that. But, the US doesn't do it with their own military or take whole minority groups and displace them into labor camps on a grand scale and try to hide it. So, as far as for profit, it can't be proven. We can't get the Real numbers from China. But as far as official numbers are concerned, US is number one in that department.

Fully support HongKong government, democracy have to remain and loophole of the law have to be patched. If we don't have a reliable law system we will lose our democracy and freedom and human right. People can protest but no violent, people's voice should heard by government and careful considered only if it's feasible. A reliable law system is a very important and a very strong support for democracy and freedom. I want ask those protestors 'what are you againsting and do you know what are you doing?' A man killed his girlfriend put her in her own suite case wheeled her out the hotel room run back to HongKong and no one can do a thing about it. Also if the protest is defined as riot, and if the bill is passed, most of the them will disappear , even though they(unarmed) are the one being attacked by the police. This is not the first time and we all know will not be the last time, from artical 23, local national anthem law, national security law ,Co location arrangement to extradition bill, all of these are what the " China hk" gov did to their citizen, well, doing for "good", in their words
