So true - when companies say they are pursuing improvements to 'productivity' it means getting more out of the same number of staff or doing the same job with fewer staff. If you are an owner this is great, if you are an employee it can mean losing your job. Improvements in productivity COULD be of benefit to the common worker if the increased profits led to increases in salary and if some of the additional profits were also redirected to benefit those who were displaced - but more often than not the same companies (owners) benefiting from such changes are simultaneously lobbying to reduce their taxes that could be used to fund those benefits.

As AI changes the job landscape (and it is going to have an absolutely enormous impact), we're going to have to consider a UBI; there simply won't be enough jobs to support 335 million people, and we can't all wait tables and do construction. Automation is fantastic, *only if* those in charge are willing to share the proceeds. Otherwise, the wealth gap is going to become too cavernous to support a nation.

Good show. Can’t wait for part 2. I had a hysterectomy in 2018 and the surgeon used the Davinci robot to remove my cancerous fibroid and the whole female system. Trouble was that the tumor was the size of a little lemon and she used small laparoscopic incisions for the robot blades and tools. Consequently she seeded me. Since then I have been through multiple chemos and radiation treatments for 7 abdominal wall tumors. If A.I. was involved no doubt it would’ve recommended a large straight abdominal incision and I would’ve been cancer free today. I’m 69. I currently have no lymph node or organ involvement nor new tumors but the cures are making me very sick and full of pain. Thank God my medical teams are dedicated and competent. 🤒

Take from it what you will... What feels intuitively "right" for you. I've been a natural health consultant for 50 years... I have some expertise -- years of research and professional experience behind what I offer. Think of this like building a house. Your body's cells are literally constructed out of everything you eat. Every 7 yrs you get a new house. Different body systems recycle and replace their cells at different rates, but 7 yrs is approx how long it takes to replace everything that can be recycled. If you don't provide a good quality materials for your cells, then your foundation will be weak, and the house will fall down. If you aren't already doing all of this, it's best to take making changes one step at a time. The important thing is to keep going -- slow and steady wins. Lasting change happens gradually: Eat predominantly an abundance of fresh ORGANICALLY grown vegetables and fruits year round, as close to locally grown as you can get in season. Find workable alternatives for meat, and when you can, learn about the old vegetarian methods of food combining to increase protein levels in your meals -- books were written about it in the 80's by a couple named Lappé... "Diet For A Small Planet" was one of them. Then eliminate all meat from your diet. If you are concerned about getting enough protein, eat some fish once every week or two, but be careful about where it comes from -- no farm-raised fish, and only small fish... Their bodies have accumulated less poisons, such as mercury. You can find out about this easily online. If you feel you absolutely must have meat, eat only meat from animals that are free to roam outside and in the case of ruminants (cows) grass fed, not grain fed. If you combine and eat whole grains and legumes (beans, lentils, fermented soy) to boost protein, make sure those are organic and not GMO tampered. Avoid all food additives. Avoid plastics Above all, nsist on clean, well-filtered water always, and keep your air as clean as you can, too. If cost is a problem in acquiring (genuine) organic foods and you are American, know that eating less than Americans typically eat is generally very much healthier for most of us: quality over quantity is always preferable. Since you've had chemo, acquiring and taking broad spectrum digestive enzymes with meals will definitely help you heal. Also, learn about and implement everything you can about restoring and boosting your gut biome. Cancer treatment is especially hard on this vital aspect of what creates your body's ability to derive nutrients from your food, eliminate wastes from your cells and gut, and maintain peak immunity. You can easily double check everything I've recommended here. I recommend you do so. All the best to you! 💜

This the first time I have watched program that gives a better more appreciative understanding of what is A.I. The generated A.I. images were just the surface of what I understand, but this has the potential, both good and bad to change our world. I hope more focus on health and quality of life are impacted the most by it. I still want flying cars though and a personal robotic chef that prepare authentic cuisines every single day without me stepping in a kitchen.

The crap being passed off as A.I. is not intelligent, it cannot learn, nor can it discern facts from falsehoods. It's just a fast automated machine that follows the rules it's been programmed to use, can quickly search through all the data it's been provided (books, articles, websites), and then spit out a response in plain language. But it does not think. It can't think. It's just faster at finding the exact same crap on the interwebz that any of us can find doing a series of searches. The junk being called A.I. today is just a collection of algorithms, and algorithms are bias embedded in code. FFS?! Have ya dealt with a chatbot?? They're annoying & inept morons! A.I. my arse. Given the rules of English grammar and composition, it can edit, correct and revise text, and even give it flare. Given the rules of various programming languages, it can edit, correct, revise and improve code, and it can take plain language requests to generate code from scratch. It’s 2024 and AI is already impacting the creative industry. I’m not just talking about illustration, which I’m feeling, but all creative jobs, from photography, interior design, voice over artists, music is starting up, video, web design, editors, early stage product design. I’ve worked in agencies where we (the Agency) have not used an architect to help create concept images for a pitch presentation because time was tight, and a few thousand could be saved. Same with conceptual photos, ala Adobe Firefly. This is no joke. People are being made redundant now, not later maybe, as clients save a few bucks.

Your right. We already do, at least for many people. . I would speculate that the average person currently couldn't tell a high quality AI image from reality. It's at the point with images it takes an expert or someone very knowledgeable to know what to look at in an image to be able to discern real from AI. Audio and video aren't there yet but both are advancing very fast. Sora AI video from OpenAI comes to mind. By the end of the year images, audio and video very well could be so good that not even the experts can tell if it's AI or not. This election year is going to be nuts from an AI perspective.

It is a matter of concern. I can see the fantastic possibilities in medicine, but when it comes to brain recognition and learning to be more human, I have a real problem with it. I think someone needs to install a permanent option to "pull the plug."
