Thankyou so much for your video, i would never have known the danger, been wanting to explore somewhere like this and could well have been in trouble with the route i was going to take ... wont be going now thats for sure !

And thats exactly why I put this video up, nobody will find you if you were stuck and no phone signal in these places, the prospect of being stuck for days or going under.

Much appreciated! How scary that would be ! And the trouble you got in even managing to hold on to the rocks ! By the way have you ever found the mile long tunnel from delabole slate quarry ?

Unless you know about these kind of things... You really wouldn't expect to have such danger in such a tranquil looking place! Glad you're okay!

I've dabbled with sand based quicksand but mica silt is a different level of horrors.

My dad watched his mate drown at the age of 6 years old in one of the old pits atoujd that area, the boy that drowned was 8 at the time, those dis used pits are evil theyll suck you in and down and you would never stand a chance of swimming up, the force is quite unbelievable

Very sad story, in the present day no phone signal in these places either & unlikely anyone would see or hear you stuck, so potential for being stuck for days or until the very end when you have no strength left.
