China Dumps Garbage EVs Worldwide: Chery’s Axle Breaks After Just 4,000 Miles

On April 28th, a female car owner from Malaysia experienced a sudden and significant decrease in speed while making a low-speed turn in her Chery Omoda 5. The vehicle came to a stop in the middle of the road without any collision, accident, or pothole. Upon inspection, she discovered that the rear axle had broken, with the rusted breakage points showing only two welding points instead of being fully welded around.

They keep saying this is gonna put Tesla out of business🤔 they have thousands of these POS cars sitting all over China. So even they won't buy them that says alot. Any research online you will see these not only have wheels falling off but they also catch on fire and the software barely works and there is no service for this. They made a couple nice CONCEPT cars for auto shows but that means nothing for the consumers buying the actual product being sold.

In the early 1970s Japan faced many difficulties entering the US market but managed to be successful by proving their quality and value. Over the years China has attempted to enter many markets but somehow they never seemed to search for quality. The only goal China seems to pursue is low price which goes hand-in-hand with early failure and disappointment. We don't need to fill our landfills with imported junk.

The parts were clearly tack welded into the correct position for finish welding and then it didn't happen. This is a serious mistake as all processes on a production line should happen sequentially and time anomalies would normally be investigated. The fact the vehicle left the factory in this state suggests exceptionally poor quality control as well. Chinese products are off my menu.

Exactly what I thought. The part was in the parts bin and it got used because the drones building the cars don't even have to know what a car is to work there. They most likely used a whole batch of maybe several hundred tacked parts and they are all just about to fail.

Electric cars are not green. 500,000 pounds of the earth's crust must be dug up and processed to create the elements for a single EV battery. Processing the brine for lithium, the ore for the cobalt, the ore for the nickel, and the ore for copper creates massive amounts of highly toxic air and water pollution. The digging and processing uses diesel powered equipment which produces more CO2 to create a single battery than the battery prevents during its life. And the car will need several batteries over its life. Then when you plug the car in to charge it, 65% of the electricity comes from coal. Electric cars are heavier so the tires wear out 50% faster releasing more toxic rubber particles into the environment. The heavier cars do more damage to roads which will need rebuilt more frequently using CO2 producing heavy machinery. More electricity use means more power lines are needed. Millions of CO2 absorbing trees will have to be removed along overhead electric wire easements to assure wires have adequate clearance.

We all assume that any gas engine car would be used for two or three decades. The problem with the Chinese EVs are designed with a very short span of life so problem like this is not a surprise at all. A good Chinese made European branded gas engine car would easily pass a 300,000 km range. One would doubt how a Chinese made and China brand EV would last.
