Kian, super helpful as always. I loved visiting China last year. It was great seeing the factories, meeting the supplier face to face and having dinner and drinks with them. It is also a plus when you can pull out your Mandarin speaking skills, even if it’s super basic and terrible. I wish we could have visited this year but I plan on going every year.

Kian, such an interesting interview confirming several hypotheses of mine! You must make numerous such videos! What else do suppliers dream of telling us? In addition, it would be just as interesting to do the same but with not-so-good suppliers too! In short, many different point of views, etc!

I love you content and will continue to follow you. I want to launch my first product but I am finding difficult to deal with manufacturer in China so I am waisting much time. The last time I was told that the lead time is 60-70days so I had to drop them so I am at square one after 6 weeks of negotiations.

I like the way how do You adapted Your English / accent to talk with Chinese people. My English is not so good, my accent is terrible, but I`m used to talk with people from ALL around the world. I also like the natural way that You created " Rapport" to better interact etc...Most part of communication is not only words. In another video, I notice how attention You gave when you received a business card, reading the name and taking some time to look to the business card. (some people don`t even look into the other eyes when shaking hands, or take the card and put directly on their pockets..)...

Kian, Thank you for the video. How to find out more about the product quality and material being used? From my experience, they don't offer this information easily. How do you find non-Alibaba suppliers once you are ready to go high in quantity?

Hey Ajay glad the video was helpful! For the product quality and material being used all information should be on the specification sheet that the supplier submits to you or they make to the standard that you submit to them, and you can get this verified by a 3rd party testing house like Intertek or SGS. Once you visit China you can also ask to visit the raw material factory where you can learn more about the materials, prices and process etc. Non-Alibaba suppliers either utilize the online or the real canton fair depending on when it re-opens, as it happens I just released a video on this yesterday, but check out this playlist to see what the real canton fair looks like too! kzbin.info/aero/PLAVj5pdoryFY0T-tPYULXjZURexh4S5Eh

Hey Natalie, sure High season is basically their busiest time of the year for production and Low season is their quietest time of the year for production. Depending on the prouduct, lets say it's halloween costumes or Christmas lights, there's going to be a time where they will be very busy and not so busy. If you can place your order when they are not so busy you are far more likely to get a lower MOQ and better price. And you can also ask them straight up when is your high season and when is your low season and they will be impressed and happy that you asked :)
