Chinese are very innovative and hardworking people. We can all learn from it and become self sufficient! Mahatma Gandhi talked about this a lot, but he was misunderstood as old fashioned.

The poor lifestyle in this video is a little surprising, they live like my grandmother did several decades ago, and I'm third world African! On the other hand it feels rather nice to 'relate' to their struggles.

at 6:22 I like the way they make the dome with pre-made pieces, instead of the slow way with individual bricks like they did in kenya

In the Netherlands a long time ago farmers had these. Normally next to their house. The gas was captured in a large steel 'bell' shaped dome that floated on water and by its weight provided the gas pressure. All of these had to be removed because they were not 'environmentally safe'. It is always the same, long time ago we had farmers who made ethanol and biogas and those were forbidden only to be replaced by toxic fuels with high taxes. Even electric 'cars' were common in 1850-1900. We have come full circle. The thing is it is always government under the control of big business that causes this. Now with the advent of much more free information hopefully a lot of things can be corrected. Hopefully the governments will not tax you biogas generation and solar panel capacity. But i am afraid that is what is next. Make sure you vote for the right persons!

can someone explain to me how these farmers haven't developed coppices with such a long history of reliance on wood? particularly with natives such as bamboo. Is it land allocation issue? or what?

Excessive demand means that sooner or later they run out. Has happened over and over to civilisations throughout history. Obey the law of return or die. Even methane digestion should be regarded as a by-product of composting, It is the making of high quality humus which is the central core of sustainability, and there is no other process which can replace proper composting.

It is the humble continuous flow digester which has made the Chinese economy strong for many years. In the sixties an ambassador from the U.S. asked a Chinese economist how digesters could produce such solid growth, the economist gave him a list with something like three hundred reasons why digesters have such a profound impact. They ranged from savings on infrastructure such as gas pipelines to improvements in the general health of people, animals and the environment in general. Methane production is not only sustainable, it is exponentially reproducible.

I am searching design principles of anaerobic digester , if we suppose have flow =30kg/day , percentage of organic materials 65% if we meet appropriate condition ,such as : temperature = 30C and mixing materials with velocity 50 revolution per minute,Can we produce biogas with quantity 500L/day ? please answer me , i am waiting . Thanks.

See Jean Pain, he is a world leader in this technology, and his methods are revolutionary. The Chinese digesters are continuous flow, Jean Pain works on the batch system. Both types are excellent.

Some drive cars some make .25 cents a day. It'd cost 3000 to build something like that especially if permits were need. Suppose something like this needs just to start somewhere. I've been pricing tanks. I used 1000 gallon tank is thousands but you need it large just to have the volume to cook with. Just a few hundred gallons doesn't seem to cut it. Perhaps stacked parallel tanks. I'm thinking pre-made.... Or or septic tanks modification.

This guy wants to provide power to 250,000 people ??!! Hell, that's centralized distribution !! Those people would be better off making their own home bound system. We have centralized distribution here in the US and the power companies have everybody by the short hairs, thanks to Westinghouse, and JP Morgan the robber barons !!!!!! With all this talk about profits, I thought they were talking about a different country !!!!

While China is committing some horrible abuses towards the environment, in this area it is a world leader and is setting an wonderful example of how small scale bio-gas production is a logical solution for both environmental and social problems plaguing the world.

Methane from agriculture is a non-issue for the environment. Carbon dioxide from agriculture is also a non-issue. Capturing methane for use a fuel is a good idea, but this video is rife with misinformation and nonsense.
