I noted China use different approach on mobile network. In the US, the cell towers are bigger and although they can transmit signal farther, the coverage is not great. In China, the cell towers are smaller, often the size of a power line pole, but there are so many towers. The result is you get much better coverage. When in China, I always see 3 or 4 bars in my phone, even when the high speed train goes through the middle of nowhere. One of the reason the US don't have good coverage because the people don't like to see cell towers in their neighborhood. They think the cell towers will lower their home value. But, at the same time, they complain they don't have cell signal. 😫

IMHO, I think it's because "5G" is using higher freq spectrum thus it requires more base antennas. AFAIK Huawei's 5G antenna and other core 5G network is considered the best in the world right now because of the small size of it w/o sacrificing performance.. (and many other technical traits of course).

It depends on what frequency band the specific telecom is using. A high frequency (say 2500mhz or 3700mhz) will have shorter range than say 700mhz. Now, in the US some telecoms use higher frequency 4G bands, so it's faster ( generally faster, but...lots of factors like how many users are connected to that tower and even humidity can complicate things so I'll keep it simple) than lower frequency, but some telecoms like Tmobile have low frequency bands (like band 71) which work like a "blanket" frequency band that can cover big areas, so your phone signal will show 4 or 5 bars most of the time (given that it supports that band ofcourse), but again good signal doesnt mean it's a "fast signal". In 5G, US telecoms are using 5g Type1, "mm Wave" 5g Bands while in china, middle east and europe telcoms use 5g Type2, Sub 6ghz bands. MmWave are ultra high frequency, like 257,000Mhz or 261,000Mhz vs 3700Mhz in china or europe. THAT is is EXACTLY why you see 5g reviews in the US showing very VERY bad reception (signal drops like a block away) while in china they have it "city wide". Now, for mmWave5G in the US they can reach over 2000Mbps in real world tests vs like 1000-1050Mbps in Sub6ghz5G like in china (both are insanely fast!) Lots of factors go in choosing which band frequency to use but this reply is already as long as some blog posts so will stop here lol

I know that 5G will bring many benefits to society and that, inevitably, not adopting it will leave some countries behind. However, those countries are already behind in other ways and their people have already begun to pay for that backwardness greatly. While this video shows 5G advantages to children and those on the cusp of becoming adults, It has benefits that, apparently, can't be shown here -- improved scientific and medical technology, vehicles that can better communicate with each other and like any other new technology, benefits we can't even imagine and foretell. I'm from Nanning as well. Every time I go back China I have to adjust to not asking Google for things. For example in my Australia home I would ask Google to tell me whether, play some music, add things to shopping list, ask Google to find my phone because I always forgot where i left it. In my Nanning home I would be frustrated because I don't know how to use TV remote, I can't find my phone, and my phone is useless because it's not connected to anything.

People can stay at home yet connect to the world. I heard that the marathon/running thing today in Nanning, that not everyone was lucky enough to run because too many participants. Image you can participate any marathon in the world from your gym by connecting a device to track your steps. Distance medical surgery is another good one. Remote education with 3D interaction. 😃
