You cannot change the mindset of haters. That's why I have given up arguing with my colleagues about China
@wroughtforge7547

I actually had the opposite effect. My colleagues were totally brainwashed and China would bring a negative connotation, but after I showed them Sabrina ‘s videos and others, now they are pro China advocates and want to visit China next summer. Interestingly enough, Kim Iverson the very popular social media host became a China advocate after seeing different vlogs on the real China.

You are so right Sabrina! When I say I love the “old China”, people always thought I was talking about the “backward” China! Not ! What I meant was the traditional way Chinese live - humble, frugal, thankful, live within their means, preserving what their ancestors had passed down… Somehow they have a way to keep memories, the Chinese atmosphere/elements alive. Maybe I still don’t know how to express what I really meant 😅😅. Anyway I love my China, old and new!

It's nice to know that as a gal from the west, the traditional Chinese culture could turn yo on in such a natural way, actually most who riding high horses come to China would rather pretend that they are frightened to culture shock or easily being stuck in it, and then they would start finger pointing, try letting their buddies abroad to know the 'stereotypes' about China are SO real lom. btw, where yo live now (zhejiang) is a place where has been well-known for its beautiful sceneries, natural resources, affluent towns n famous scholars from different generations in the history of ancient China as well as today. Keep enjoying your life in China sab!🥹

there are deep bounds in China and countries around China, like Japan. In old times Japan sent students to China to learn Chinese culture, many things the west know about Japanese are acturally originated from China, meanwhile in modern history, Japan also became a window for the Chinese intelligentsia to learn western culture

I am from hk and naturally I don't like the CCP from the hk perspective, but the ccp has really done a lot for China, eg pulling china's gdp per capita from usd8xx in 1997 to the current 12000, for 1,400,000,000 people! When you are bombarded with bias reports from cnn, bbc etc etc every single day, plus misunderstanding, I am not surprised that there are so many haters, Even here in hong Kong. People who have never been to xinjiang and china are critizing china, out of political gain, especially usa politicians, because china battering sells!

Hi Sabrina, love your content! Recently watched a video of a foreign teacher who supposedly fled China. I think she is from Africa but first worked in Korea and afterwards worked in China. She apparently had a run in with the management of the school where she worked at. According to her it ended violently. Now she was in somewhere in Europe and she made video telling about her bad experiences in China. I don’t have any reasons not the believe some of her grievances. Let’s be honest. A$$holes can be found everywhere! And China it’s not different!What annoyed me the most was that she painted a picture as of it’s bad in the whole of China! which I found a bit strange since she worked in China for a short period of time. I think she needs to understand that when you are working and living in another country you have make compromises with regards to some cultural differences. Physical or verbal violence is not acceptable! How do you look at these kind of cases?

In Chinese, it means' when the forest is big, there are all kinds of birds'. Over ten million people come to China every year, and it's impossible for everyone to enjoy it. The United States is so powerful that there are also Americans immigrating to China. When encountering such a situation, you cannot just rely on one person's unilateral statement to believe that everything they say is true. So how can we evaluate the whole thing if we haven't even figured out the facts?

Your background music is nice in melody, but not quite suitable for a village scene in Zhejiang as it is a music in some way related to Taiwan and Japan (和风). It is like you pick a French music for a cowboy scene you shoot in Tucson Studio, Arizona. Best is you can pick a real Chinese folk song melody for the video, especially in 江南丝竹 style.

half of his lies are the truth. I mean, yes, there are a lot of bad things happening in China, but there are also a lot of good things to be had. In my country, for example, Indonesia, there are many beautiful things in it but there are also many dark sides. Yes, and did you know that even though there are many beautiful things, what people call haters will always see and explore only the bad side. hehehehe.. So in my opinion, what they said was not completely lying, they were just showing their own stupidity. I once read a book which contained a collection of wise sentences from Kahlil Gibran and one of them said that "talking to stupid people is the same as talking with drunks. It's tiring because there's a lot of rambling in it"
