The irony is that Chinatown is the neighborhood that Americans like to visit most. There are cheap and novelty Chinese goods, delicious Chinese food and various festival performances, and the law and order in Chinatown is also higher than other neighborhoods.

I was invited to China twice as a photographer. I was so prejudiced about China the first time I went. But I realized that these prejudices were all formed by the influence of anti-propaganda about China in the West, and they were all destroyed. Now I love China and the Chinese people, they are respectful, smiling, friendly and good people.

I am a native New Yorker and I have lived in China for many years and I can speak the language fluently. I felt that many times I had way more freedom in China that I did in New York. Here are the reasons I felt they had more freedom in China than New York. Just like that man if you want to, and I don’t, drink beer, you can drink a beer outside. Nobody will say anything to you. If you talk to people randomly or arbitrarily, you will not get treated as a weirdo or a crazy yet try that in New York they’ll think you’re totally nuts and a creeper. I could also have really cool conversations with people sometimes spending for a few hours. People in New York act like they can’t be bothered for five minutes. Although these freedoms are not something that comes from the government per se, it does make me question why in many parts of America we’ve become so uptight, and controlled.

This guy doesn't know American laws. He a Chinese hack. 1. Alcohol laws are based on state by state and sometimes local ordinances. Many places allow you to have an open container and in areas that don't, I've never seen a cop described as he said 2. Gun laws are state laws. Look at California gun laws 3. I'm Latino and have never been attacked for being a minority. This is interesting info coming from a white guy who clearly knows what it's like to be latino😂 4. Our parks in Texas do not have gangs and homeless people harassing people. They are full of families 5. I got tired of this guy with an agenda that is a lie and stopped watching

This is true. Also, if you have an opened alcohol container in your car (the passengers), and are stopped by police, the car may be confiscated / impounded. So it is safest to drive with the alcohol in the boot after shopping. In contrast, a loaded rifle in the back seat is legal in most rural places. Illegal only in some cities like NY.

Meaning of Freedom in America: Freedom in Abstract and Philosophical Ideas The Meaning of Freedom in China: Freedom Directly Practiced in Real Life at the Individual Level
@Anonymous------
@Anonymous------ 9 ай бұрын
Freedom in USA means the freedom to take away Native Americans freedom and their America homelands, and made them fourth class citizens in USA, a foreign colonial regime. Freedom in China means providing freedom and security to the indigenous minorities so they can live freely and safely on their own homelands. No lands have been taken away from indigenous people of China, such as Tibetans and Xinjiang Uyghurs, they are free to roam and live anywhere on their own homelands like the way their ancestors have done for thousands of years, unlike the native Americans have their original America homelands taken away from them, they are limited to only small areas on so-called resevervations.

For example, many people put their valuables aside, put their luggage on the seat at the train station and leave, and they may go shopping or board. Also in USA I was warned NOT to go out in NYC of LA after Midnight ... and NOT to go to certain suburbs in the City ... at all. Police in China carry NO GUNS and a Civic Police. In USA, Police have an arsenal of weapons in their utility belts (gun, taser, hand cuffs, ties, pepper spays ...) and are Militia Police. You do NOT approach USA Police in the wrong way, because they can shoot you dead.

@@thecommiehunter1149 Not true. The overwhelming majority of USA gun related deaths are from MASS SHOOTERS. Out of the 40,000 gun related deaths EVERY YEAR in USA, over 3,000 over the are just children alone. Look how many school mass shootings there have been in USA this year alone (compared to ZERO school mass shootings anywhere else in the World). Remember the February School Mass shooting where a 17 year old bought an AR, with exploding bullets, from a department store? No? That's because school mass shootings have become so normalised in USA, that it doesn't even make the front page anymore. Well, in this case, the 17 year old went to a school, and shot scored of children (**wait for it**) from the back of their heads, so that he could see their faces blown off with his exploding bullets (and he had an AR, where you do not pull the trigger once, and one bullet comes out ... NO ... you pull the trigger once and a SPRAY of exploding bullets come out). When the parents ran to school to get their child's dead bodies, many of them could only identify their child by THEIR SHOELACES. Come on, mate. USA is seriously broken.

Education in the US is massively expensive. And then there is also a movement to denigrade education too. So many people Americans think that you can do advanced science with a highschool degree, which is laughable. The West will have to push their kids to Asia for education because its better and cheaper, plus the ease and value of living...... Even if the collective realised they have a problem right this very second!! It would still take them 10 yrs to admit to it!!!! Another 50 yrs to fix the problem!!! Whats my evidence based on this!!???? The UK's HS2 prject!!!! was talked about in the 80's 90's Richard Branson owned trains back then!!! He was a young entrepreneur!!!! now look at the HS2 project 50 yrs on!!!! Richard Branson is now an old retired astronaut!!!!! HS2 is still being ironed out and the Chinese are supposedly now roped into help and still its getting nowhwere in 40 yrs China built it sefl up!!!! from small fishing villages to global industry leaders!!!! what can the West do in 10yrs! China had 0 zero HSR to now 10 yrs later leading the world as well as manufacturing for the world HSR and infrastructure....... AND Still the West hasnt made a single positive step in the right direction to correct their decline!

All east Asian countries China, Japan, Korea, have lower violent crimes than America. Developed or under-developed, doesn't matter. Even in the underdeveloped parts of China, where wealth gap is larger, there are much less violent crimes and homeless people than America. It's part cultural that East Asian people have diginity and self-control not to stoop so low as to commit petty crimes. In the West, there is not so much emphasis on self-control and discipline, but more emphasis on freedom and individuality, therefore, everyone thinks they are self-righteous and blame society instead of themselves for any misfortune.

A real experience of mine. There is a reinvigorated feeling you get when you stand on the bank of the Cumberland River, looking over the lined rows of white tombstones. Some unmarked, some rotting away. To look up, to see a symbol so familiar to you that even its presence reminds you of nothing but hope, nothing but freedom. You don’t know where it comes from, but the first note of a bugle plays. What you hear is the call TAPS. Played in remembrance to those who laid down their lives so that all may be free. To mourn and to cry for those lost, so that you may stand free, and so you may stand an individual, bears your heart. In China, you see a flag that only gained its place through overthrowing its OWN legitimate government and killing its brothers because of what other people thought. And then this idea is only enforced through bloodshed, costing 60 million lives of innocent people at the hands of their own country. To have, even in the modern day, camps for specific groups of people (Muslims in Xinjiang) in order to exterminate them, it is at this point you realize what you have. A flag with 50 stars and 13 stripes. A flag that waves at every school, every courthouse, and at every cemetery. When you see the protestors of Honk Kong waving that star spangled banner, you know that to them, it is the international symbol of freedom. The international symbol against tyranny and oppression. The flag is soaked in blood, but not with the blood of innocent civilians and lives, but of patriots willing to stain the flag with their blood because they know that without that flag, there is no freedom. I’ll end this here with some of my favorite quotes. “The American will die on his feet than to live on his knees.” -General George Washington “It is better to live in a dangerous democracy than a safe dictatorship.” -Thomas Jefferson “When a country fears its people, there is liberty.” -Thomas Jefferson

Freedom is always relative. In China, there are very few incidents of drinking and rioting on the street, so you have the freedom to drink on the street. If you want to live in an orderly country, your words and deeds will inevitably be restrained, in exchange for a stable, safe, and efficient life.

0:26 True. I was almost arrested when I was drinking beer with my friends in a park (not in street) 11 years ago in the US. Fortunately the 2 policemen didn't really arrest us bc I explained to them that I was not aware of this law and promised I wouldn't do the same thing again. Basically I think this is a stupid law anyway.

To be fair, even as an American I am shocked by the sight of a rifle being carried around casually. My apartment complex for example, there was a guy who walked around waving his AR15 around in the apartment lobby....he was screaming obscenities and yelling at people...clearly not stable. Yet no one cared or did anything about it, people just shook their heads and walked away. It was ridiculous!
