We visit China to look at the ancient history of pit homes. Dating back 4000 years these homes are built into the earth to protect people from the elements. They also relate to Chinese beliefs that humans are made from soil.

Im curious, where is the drainage? If it rains where does the water go?

In the last shot, you can see that the homes are built on a hill top / plain. Drainage could be achieved through sloped tunnels cut to the hillside. Gravity is the best pump.

I heard of an idea called Ground scrapers which are reverse sky scrapers. or multi story pit homes. Also I wonder how not good her eyesight is. She might just need a pair of glasses to see properly.

Antediluvian masonry homes buried in the Flood, but instead of digging out as in other parts of the world, they left the homes buried.

How do they handle drainage?

They are built on an elevated plain and sloped tunnels were dug for drainage and waste. There are also pit homes in Libya that look very similar.

I like them, they must not need much heating and cooling. Only problem is drainage.

A sewage system, and drain system can be installed using modern methods to up keep this place, since you can use pumps to transport the waste & water to a different location for processing

Western Libya has them too. Some pit homes date back to Roman times.
