China and India lack mutual trust is more on the India side rather than China side. Contrary to many Indian's believe, China does not have much hostility against India. But India is hostile against China. India pulls out from RCEP in last minute because of China, India is against Belt and Road initiative because of Pakistan, India actively joins US's effort in containing China. India has to think hard on what is the most pressing issue for India: Is it the risk posed by China's rapid development or is it the lack of desired progress of India's economic development. Regardless how much military budget India plans to increase, India will not be able catch up with China because China GDP is 4.5 time of India. Back 40 years ago, right at the beginning of China's economic reform, Deng Xiaping decided to cut the military budget by half despite facing the threat from Soviet Union and had a border wat with Vietnam. Thing gradually improved since that time. India can take a lesson from that.

@@LakesouthTiger-tw6es China is confident in its abilities while India is insecure about what it’s lacking. When you have a chip on your shoulders it breeds irrational fear. There’s also a difference on how each country deals with fear. China sees it as a problem that can be fixed while India pretends it’s not a problem then blames the problem on someone else when it could no longer be fixed.

Trust is an important value in Chinese inter-personal, inter-business and even inter-national relationship. But from what Modi government had done on handling border conflicts, curbing and banning Chinese enterprises, investments and apps in India, geopolitical issues, such as joining Quad .... China has no trust in India, as the Chineese saying goes: "Listen what he says and watch what he does". Chinese have learnt enough lessons in their encounters in and with India. Now, it is more cautious in its relationship with India, far different than 10 years before.
@wilson2009yao2 күн бұрын
As a Chinese, I have to say, 1. there is barely no relationship between China and India, no matter in economic, political, military, or others from bilateral perspective. So, no relationship => no need to trust a stranger at all. And no need to control difference at all. 2. there is no similarity in between, no matter in economic, political, military, or others, from domestic perspective. 3. there was, is and will be the border issue. It is not kernel issue from both perspective, not an urgent issue either. 4. there is no cooperation at all. and there is no need to cooperate. 5. there is no competition either, therefore, I can not figure out anything China and India are competing for. For what? 6. there is barely no report of India in China's governance media. Previously, there are some in Chinese social media, but after VISA is banned by India, there is barely no. 7. Whoever become India's PM, it is not China's business, but India's domestic business. No matter whether Modi governs India 10 years or 100 years, there is barely no relationship to China at all. 8. Belt and Road is a multilateral proposal, not a forced business . If you hate it, just skip it. China does not force India to accept it. 9. Nuclear supplier group(NSG) has no exception to any state. China is not a member of NSG(since 1974) till they signed the NPT lease in 1992 and became a member of NSG in 2004. If India does not want to sign NPT, India will be rejected for ever. 10. China has only one issue, Taiwan issue, since 1949. Other issue including Xinjiang is only a propaganda from the Western world. They can sick China by new Chinese Issues in future in their propaganda, but can change nothing at all. 11. If the third-party(eg, Japan, S.Korea, ASEAN, Mid-East, or others) does not accept India's claim, do not blame China. Like the namely Global South, do they accept India's leadership? Really doubt. 12.It seems India always wants to make use of global issue, eg, the trade-war between China and US. But since 2017 of its breakthrough, it seems India benefits barely nothing from it. Eg, India's trade is not improved much as expected since 2017. 13.What did India got from India-Pacific Strategy, QUAD, or others? Got better Investment, trading, Free Trade Deal, or others? I can barely figure out nothing. 14. India's economy is inflated too much. Eg, India's GDP of 2023 is almost equivalent as China's in 2007. There about 4 million cars sold in India in 2023, while 8 million car sold in China in 2007. Meanwhile, about 40% of cars sold in India are

On 22 nd july 2024 Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) V. Anantha Nageswaran has suggested that India may stand to gain more by “replacing some well-chosen imports with investments from China” thus helping both boost Indian manufacturing and plugging India into the global supply chain as it looks to tap advanced economies’ push to diversify beyond China through a China plus one sourcing approach. But India is not re-thinking the issue of allowing Chinese investments into the country, Trade Minister Piyush Goyal said on 30 th july 2024. TRADE MINISTER SAID NO INVESTMENTS FROM CHINA So General, why are u crying every day on india allowing chinese investments? Is it one of ur another propaganda towards this bjp govt??

Even per capita , India is only 1/5 of China’s, but India has always spent way much more on military percentage GDPwise comparing to China, UK 2.3% or France 2.1%, The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute calculated India’s defense expenditure at 2.4% of GDP in 2023. “By comparison, China, with its much larger economy than India’s, spends about 1.7% of its share of GDP on defense,” India has spent 40% more, way much more than Chinaper capita GDPwise year in year out , has become a country of war monger, in reality achieved 1/5 of CHina has done so far will be fair, in fact we can see what’s has lagged behind lost counts including some of which like the global GDS network, ISMB, nuclear reaction tech, Hypersonic missiles, drone techs, robotics, AIs, 3d printing, space techs are all far behind, even the electricity required to run a wind tunnel like CHina’s JF 22 , the world’s fast speed wind tunnel, which will reach Mach 30, that’s the backbone of all aviation vehicles development including 6th gen fighter, space craft, hypersonic missiles, air freighter like Y-20 or Y-40, domestic plane like C919 or 929, even us ‘s wind tunnel can reach Mach 5 only now, Chinas power generations is 2 times of us, plus all the infrastructures like HST net work, Bridges, green energy, tunnels, highways, fully automatically run sea ports ,EVs, even China’s shipping building capacity is 232 times of US, India has raised too high a bar to catch up with the most advanced fields of China, and the world’s most advanced, India is simply not worthy a peer competitor; by looking at the host and guests, they all speak English, a language of their old master, the colonizer,none of them even speaks Indian at all, that’s a clear sign of least self respect lacking(or is there a unified language existed for Indians to speak besides English?) i bet lots of the development China has made includes domestic and foreign educated intellectual asset’s devotion, i rarely see any India’s students studied abroad willing to return to India after graduation, yet China probably has a 98% return rates of US educated students after graduation, comparing with Indians, the smartest one obviously don’t love India at all. Indian are clearly braggarts, not diligent builders ,you reap what you sow. You don’t need to worry about China, China will take back what’s the British took from Tibet eventually ,but that’s all; China will not be interested to occupy India since no one with senses in China will recruit 1.4 billion Indians 5 time poorer than them, its an economical suicide.

I have been amused by what I called: Indian plans for practically everything. Just review the reports by ADB and UNESCAP reports since the 60s where India wanted to connect practically the whole of Asia with railway and road connections. And I believe their rather ambitious plans for railway came from the fact that the British left them with a working railway system after WW2 and with that they thought they could develop the railway system! Of course, inheriting a "working system" does not equate to be able to build one from nothing! Of course, Japan had wanted the Indian's ambition to be realized. Take for example, when Taksin could not realize the DaWei Port in southern Myanmar, Japan and India was called in by ADB to connect that port to Danang (?) Of course, it could not be done because there is simply insufficient volumes to sustain that ambition of rail-road connections. One wonders as to why they tried this project when Indian proposal to connect India to Bangladesh-Myanmar-Thailand- Cambodia-Vietnam had been proposed since the 60s!
