a 076 plus a few destroyers and frigates can form a very powerful assault group.. 076 can launch drones to survey and lock on targets.. they can either launch other drones or the destroyers launch missiles to destroy the targets....

Once a landing zone is secured, the 075 and 076 will be shuttling a continuous stream of helicopter landings of troops and equipment. Hundreds of landings per hour. Continuous drone surveillance will prevent any interference. Landing zones will quickly proliferate, each supported by their own drone swarms.

The military force at landing zones will quickly level up and expand non stop towards other landings and other key objectives. With that much of the ship spent on a well deck, it's still more of an LHD by far but using the EMALS to enable the surveillance advantages of fixed-wing aircraft to support amphibious operations without needing airbases or full aircraft carriers in the area, plus adding some airstrike capability. It probably won't be focused on generating the highest possible sortie rate like a dedicated carrier would, but even a fraction of the sorties of a dedicated ~50,000t carrier still means having something in the air at all times. That means getting infinitely more of those assets than might otherwise be available, all while still doing the work of an LHD. The US probably didn't attempt the same thing because they already have F-35B and older jumpjets to fill the role of getting the number of fixed-wing assets in the battlespace to be not zero. On top of that, the EMALS tech they developed for the Fords is a simpler but less efficient AC system than China's DC one, in the Fords that are not only nuclear powered, but also way over-specced on electrical capacity, this was a perfectly sensible thing to do, but it would make using the same design a bigger power drain on an LHD.
